Hello All!!!

First, thank you for clicking on my thread, I thoroughly hope you won't be disappointed.

Like most people here, I am stuck inside during this time of uncertainty and have really up'd my poker volume and thought it might be fun to document my journey of turning just over $1k into $50k. Why $50k? Not sure, just sounded like a nice round number I guess.

My poker background is pretty boring. I started playing way back in 2004 (yes, I'm 41) playing mostly tournaments and sit-n-go's on Stars. Since then, I have focused more on cash games due to real life obstacles such as a full time job and a family. Currently, I'm grinding on ACR playing $50nl Blitz under the same name. I also dabble in a few MTT's when I have time and even though they are my passion, I just don't have time to sit and play for 8+ hours at a time anymore.

I'm hoping to post some interesting hands, maybe bink a tournament here or there and make a lot of $$$ with profit and rakeback.

Well, I wasn't too sure how this would go to start out and clearly life has gotten in the way, but wanted to come on and post a quick little update. Haven't really had too much time to play as weekends are pretty crazy around here, but have been able to scrape a little profit. Also hit for $125 in the Beast this past week so combine that with daily rakeback and I'm looking at a profit of $431.96. Finishing up the evening with one MTT and will be up early tomorrow to start the grind. I will also try and post more frequently with more HH's going forward, I'm just exhausted and don't have it in me.

So today ended in a pretty meh fashion. Was up a few buy ins at one point and finished slightly up/break even. Busted the two MTT's I played tonight so just going to call it a day. I'll be putting in some serious cash volume the rest of the week to try and hit the $500 Beast payout. Looking at last week, it shouldn't be too difficult and I should be able to smash that going forward.

How many hands at 50 nl blitz do you need to hit the 500 in a week

Actually, I must have looked at some wrong information because I don't think I can get there. By my calculations, you probably need to play about 40k/week to get to the $500 level. I just don't have that amount of time, even during the quarantine.

Yea the blitz is pretty slow compare to bovada or stars as far as getting hands in, saw you at the tables again too, how you do today?

Not too bad. Since my last post, I've played probably around 22k hands plus a hand full of MTT's. Haven't cashed in any of the tournaments, but have made a slight profit overall. I'm not going to take the time to go through my database to pull hands, but there have been some pretty big swings. Starting next week, I'll try and post some graphs. Not too proud of myself this week as I played a couple of sessions that I wasn't rolled for, and even if I did profit in those, it's a losing strategy for sure. Nothing but $50nl going forward, regardless of how things are going.

Felt pretty good today as I started out about five buy-ins down and was able to claw back and finish with a small profit. Those days are hard to endure, but feels great after. Might try and play more tonight as I'm about 1500-2000 Beast points away from hitting the $500 level, or may just opt to take the $125 and refocus next week. I got off to such a slow start last weekend that all I need to do is put in a little more initial volume to set myself up for the weekday grind. We'll see.

Either way, excited with where my game is atm and will just keep trying to play decent poker.

Anyway, I can barely keep my eyes open so off to bed. I finished 5th in the SNG for around $77 then put in about 1.5k hands at the Blitz tables once midnight hit and won another 5 buy-ins.

I played quite a bit during the afternoon yesterday. Not so much last night.


I’m sitting at about 450. Only played from midnight to 1am last night and haven’t had a chance to play at all today....kids will do that. I’ll probably hop on after they go to bed.

Hopped on to play some cash and just wasn't feeling it, even after jumping out of the gate up four buy-ins. Dropped a few and ended up booking a small win after about 800 hands. Just not worth to force volume when I'm not mentally invested. Going to call it a night and will hopefully come back in full force tomorrow.
