Thanks. It's a bit much yeah, but last year I played 13 tournaments in 9 days so I think I'll be fine. I do intend to have a bit more fun other than poker compared to last year, so I might skip one or two in this schedule.

I only play bigger tourneys and am mainly a cash player, so maybe I or a bit more into them when I play but I get exhausted after them, particularly if I make a day 2 or 3

Although I'm really busy at work, I couldn't pass up on SCOOP for what is likely the last time I get to grind online in a long time due to legislation here in Australia. Really sucks, in particular for the pros, but also for us recs who just want to gamble it up every once in a while.

So far my SCOOP results haven't been great, I think I dropped around $500 in 4 sessions so far. I do have a series-saver though, I just made day 2 in my biggest buy-in of the series, the $55 Deepstack. There's ~150 players left with $43k up top. I have 25bb, so enough to make something happen.

I also binked a $109 ME ticket, upon which I realized I can't get T$ for SCOOP tickets. I'll probably play the $109 PKO 8-max instead of ME, because it's more convenient with work and has a faster structure. Too bad that means I have to get up at 4am during a weekday, but it would be nice to have a bit more spending money in Vegas the following week.

Finished 100th or so in the $55 Deepstack for $165 with a heartbreaking AQ<AT all in pre.

Used the $109 ticket to late reg the main and finished ~1600th out of 23k entries for $300.

In total this amounts a couple more buyins next week, so I'm quite pleased. Withdrawn my full roll as this is likely the last online session in a long time. Now it's time to run deep in live arena!

Just finished the thread, very cool! Good job crushing the pub poker.

Tempted to try and emulate your success, pub poker's gotta be soft everywhere right? 😉

Thanks mate, and yeah, play has been terrible everywhere I've played in Sydney, and surely it's not the water. Where do you live?

Right now I'm about to embark on the Trans Zion hike, before the Vegas grind starts. It's 80 km, 32 degrees celsius, and I have 3 days. The ranger just tried to convince me I'm nuts, so I'm properly motivated now.

Before everyone starts freaking out: Yeah, it's gonna hurt. But it's not my first rodeo, I've been hiking/mountaineering/endurance racing and everything you can imagine outdoor for over 10 years. I have a locator beacon. I'll be fine.

Probably.

Not Australia but close (not really). I'm living in Dublin, Ireland. The clue is in the name 😜

Been feeling the itch to play again, live low stakes SnG's/tourneys seem a decent option to quell the itch.

I hiked once.. To the shops.

Enjoy it, if that's possible

Survived the hike, finished yesterday with a monster 14 hour day in 32 degree heat. Will do a proper TR later.

Now standing in line to buy in to my first game, the $75 sattie into the Colossus! Would be sweet to start with a win!

Busted the $75 sattie KK<AQ all in pre, and jumped in the $235 deepstack. Ran up a stack for the first time in one of these. I was really tired though and after butchering one hand I 4bet shipped 88 at 800/1600 for 37k and couldnt hold against AKo for 90k pot, which would have been average ITM stack. Really sad now, and too tired to handle it properly. A cash would have been such a good start!

Anyway, gonna sleep early and play the $150 at the Golden Nugget tomorrow.

Day 2 and 3 I had scheduled to play at the Golden Nugget to play their $150 100k gtd. On Friday I played two flights that were just a lesson in patience and frustration. Just utterly card dead and both times I got pipped in clear all in spots: AJ<AQ on AT4r and AT<AJ for 8bb shove BTN vs CO open by big stack. Really very little I could do. I had AK six times where I raised or squeezed and five times I completely whiffed and had to check fold on action heavy multiway flops, and the one time the flop came out AKx I got zero action on two streets. Eventually I started doubting my sanity, did I just get owned or soulread all the time? But this is a $150, the level of play is still really poor.

I had a good night sleep and fired my third bullet this morning. By then it was already clear the guarantee would get smashed to more than double. The first two hours I bled chips in a **** position with a good and aggro player to my direct left. Eventually I 3bet jammed TT for 18bbs and got cold called by a fish, that's trouble. Sure enough he had QQ, but a miracle river T saved me from another bustout. A bit later:

I open KQ UTG for 1300 at 250/500, get two calls and BB jams for 3300. We all call.

Pot 14k, flop Q23. SB open jams for 12k, I reshove for 20k and hold vs A4 for a proper sweat.

Now I suddenly have a decent stack and pick up some more chips. When table breaks I have 60k (start stack 15k). On new table I lose a small one AJ<KJ all in pre and during the next couple hours I hover between 40k and 70k with blinds rising to 1500/3000 for the last level. Eventually I manage to pick up a few uncontested pots with air which adds up with antes at 500. I 3bet jam AK and AA (shame really, but I allowed myself some stress free chips in the second to last hand before end of day 1), and we finish the day with 107k! This is 1.4x average and 27bb in first level tomorrow. We'll not be in the money yet, but very close, so that'll be the first order of business. This is actually my first live Day 2, so obviously I'm pretty psyched. I'm guessing ~400 return with first place around $25k. A long grind to go, but at least I'm in it!

Busted day 2 in 9 min...:

Blinds 2000/4000-500, 9 players

UTG+2 opens to 9k, I'm next to act with AK and 73k. I shove and the next player minraises to 138k for half his stack. SB calls off for 60k.

Villains show TT and JJ and I'm 40% for a triple up, but the board is not kind. I bust in 360th, 80 off the money.

Sigh.

Just doubled to 12k in the $1000 WSOP Tag Team (5k start) we're a team of three and take turns playing.

Chipped up to 16k when I flopped a set. Then got coolered:

Blinds 200/400-50, 9 players

I'm UTG with KQ and raise to 900. UTG+2 calls for 10% of stack, BB calls.

Pot 3500, flop Q82. I cbet 1450 and UTG+2 raises to 3500 leaving 4500 behind. Folds to me. Villain is young and seems competent, but this raise puzzles me. Given preflop action and stacksize AQ/22 seem unlikely. And does a set raise here? I figure he has some kind of combo draw and I jam. He snaps with 22. Nice call pre bro...

It's dinner break and we have 8.5k coming back to 250/500-75.

Yes. I think it depends on the table and your image, but lack of suitedness and potential to be outkicked makes me want to fold from utg

So much fun: We're still in, we're railing the One Drop FT, had a beer with Fedor and just had a chat with Kurganov/Boeree who are sitting next to us about their win.
