Sup guys?

I've thought about making a PGC thread for quite a while and never really got around to it. Since I've made some changes in my poker plans this week, I thought I'd give it a shot. Satisfy my inner narcisist and also have something to read and relive my adventures when I'm old.

Basic Intro:

I'm a 28 year old guy and have been playing poker since I was 18. Started playing full time 2 years ago with a little break from poker thanks to an absolute lack in motivation to do basically anything. I've started grinding again since November 2014, but have been slacking when it comes to study away from the tables and also the volume I have put in. That is all about to change from now on though!

What are we gonna do?

We're gonna fix this ******ed sleep schedule I have, I regularly wake up past 6pm. Have "nights" where I sleep 3 hours and have "nights" where I sleep 15 hours.

We will slowly evolve our lifestyle so that we don't die of heart failure in the next 5 years. My SN isn't TubbyMcFatF*ck because I'm some kind of Jason Koon! I have no ambition to become a health freak or a juice head, I just want to stop eating pizzas and burgers exclusively.

We're gonna do work son! That means 30 to 40 hours of poker a week. By poker I mean grinding and studying

Why are we doing this?

I love my job, but I have not been treating it with the proper respect and I have not done enough to maximize my potential! If I don't see myself showing significant progress within the next month or 5 I will seriously consider to fire my ass and seek refuge as a wage slave.

What are we gonna share in this thread?

A few hand histories for public humiliation and hopefully some constructive criticism.
Some stories about my life in general (I love to drink, I can appreciate a good party and like to tangle with the ladies)
Reports on progress related to putting in volume, studying and ofcourse graphs!

Alright, that's it for now as this OP has turned into a pretty massive TL;DR. I will update this thread pretty much daily, except for the days that I am not grinding.

Uneventful first day, lost 4ish buyins and never really got into a good pace. Cut my session short out of damage control and spent some time going through my recent hands.

Tomorrow I'm planning on putting in alot of hours as there is plenty of drinking planned over the weekend and I probably won't be able to put in a decent session till sunday.

Some "interesting" spots

Was super happy to get it in vs a well known fish at my stakes. Have played a bunch with him and am sure I'm crushing his range here otf, then with a turn like that I am never ever giving up my hand.

Unknown villian but seemed fishy. Betting flop for value, but then turn kinda sucks and I am pretty sure I won't really get value from worse. Also totally clueless as to how often he will turn worse hands into bluffs if I bet into him again. Depending on sizing I am probably x/folding ott. Think river is a mandatory call as I think there aren't many credible QxXx combos in his range and I def see him valuebetting worse Jacks here.

Already on a super productive day, sent out some quote requests for a new setup as my PC is starting to get slower and slower. Most of it is due to the fact that I need a handgrabber to create HHs that are compatible with HEM2 and that takes up quite a bit of processing power. Since I'm not a high stakes baller and an overall life nit when it comes to expenses I'm looking for something really good that will cost me no more than 700 euros (desktop only)

If any of you guys have good tips on what to look out for besides the obvious processing power and solid state drive for HH's I'd greatly appreciate it!

Yesterday was a decent day, won just over 2bi but not really any interesting hands came by so I didn't post anything.

Played an hour today, got lucky w AKo vs AA pfai though my ****ing hand grabber didn't get the HH so it is not in my database. The only other noteworthy hand I played:

Think my 3b pre is absolutely standard, not super convinced about the cbet but not keeping the initiative here kinda kills my options on later streets there are plenty of hands in villian's range that I still have plenty of equity against. Think I prefer sizing it slightly smaller but as played the SPR put me in a perfect spot to size my turnbet in a way that villian can only shove or fold. Will run this hand by my coach to see what he has to say though.

So this is what our results are looking like thusfar. A bit low on volume but I don't really ever play more than 4-6 tables and have spent a fair amount of work off the tables studying and getting a new setup.

Gonna take the rest of the day to do some laundry, and do some work in price research for my new desktop. Probably no more poker for today unless there is some really good action.Tonight we're gonna get our drink on and try to get lucky. Great thing about that plan is that 50% of it is absolutely gonna happen, you guys can guess which 50%!

Got wasted while playing some 200plo at the local casino with some friends last night. Had a ton of double wodka/sprite's on the house, coolered 2 fish regs with boat over boat hands for stacks and let one of my friends bluff me of top and bottom in a monsterpot where I think it was correct to fold. Yet he showed me complete air.

Also had fun berating some scumbag lol_livereg that hit an ran us when he stacked my friend and a fish only to instantly chop the profit off of his stack and sit in the nittiest NLHE 1/2 game in the western hemisphere! Luckily the poker gods were on top of it and decided to make him punt it all off on the NLHE table.

In the spirit of this topic I woke up "early", ordered some sushi for breakfast which I downed with a panadol and a Red Bull which was sufficient to fire me up for my sunday session. Afternoon action wasn't really all that booming, which is probably due to the good weather. I only managed to get in 225 hands in 2 hours and then decided to take a small break as I expect action to heat up later tonight. Had one interesting hand where I end up playing a 188bb pot with K high vs a reg that always wants to battle me for some reason.

Not a bad pc, you could build almost same for around 5-600 usd but with no computer knowledge paying a little vig is just the price you pay. Any chance at buying a used one from a hardcore gamer? Where I get my pc's as we all we really need is a great SSD drive and good motherboard and gamer tend to have the top of the line stuff before something come out new.

Also for poker I see your leading a lot oop with marginals hands where x /c is a better line. When you cbet or probe bet need to ask two is this bet to build the pot increase for my value hand or is it pure air. Most our middling stuff esp opp should go into checking range

I'd rather pay a markup and have it built by a pro. The problem is that hardware here is really expensive so even if I take a shot at building it, it would save me a smaller amount than you indicated. My backer also buys all his stuff from this guy and was super happy with the performance and the service.

With regard to your cbetting comment, I do have to work on my cbetting game. My non showdown winnings are negative, which I believe to be optimal at my stakes. However I do think that I am losing too much in non showdown pots and this surely has something to do with me not cbetting optimally. I also think I need to bluff more rivers as I see villians showing down hands that I think are very likely to fold if I bluff the river. For now my main priority is in improving my cbetting ranges and the betsizes I use. Once I see improvements in that area I will put in work to find possibilities when it comes to river bluffs.

            Thanks for your input.

As for an update, not really in the mood to find hands. Action has been slow, probably due to the weather, and either ran the nuts into the second nuts or the second nuts into the nuts. So I couldn't really be bothered to post any hands right now.

So far we have put in 3400ish hands since the start of this topic, we have played round about 14 hours and spent approx 5 hours going through HHs and watching some RIO videos. Tomorrow I'll post an updated graph and put in my last session on my old computer. Then wednesday will be spent getting my new setup ready and arranging all the software stuff. After that I will be going in lockdown from thursday till at least sunday. Maybe longer if things go well.

Didn't play yesterday, had to arrange some stuff for the arrival of my new computer today (cables, new monitor, clean desk) and felt extremely tired so decided to take the rest of the day off. Computer dude will come over to deliver the desktop this morning, so I'm wrapping up some last minute data transfers before I finally get to enjoy my new prize!

Pokerwise things haven't been booming, below graph is how we're currently doing. After my new PC is up and running I will be in lockdown for a while, probably till I get totally sick of playing.

Got my computer setup and I'm happy like a pig in ****! Everything works perfect and the thing is faster than a mother****er!

Put in some small volume on Pokerstars to get my HEM sorted out and fix myself with a HUD. For now I can't use HEM for my usual site as the guy that knows how to install the handgrabber that I need is on vacation in China, so I'll prob have to grind without stats for like a week or so. No biggie, can't do anything about it so I'll just have to live with it.

Got no idea what villian folded there, maybe I should've just called turn and try to get him to stack it off that way. Have no stats on anyone and was setting up my HUD during these hands, so didn't really have max focus ... just autopilot it.

Pretty irrelevant for the topic, but thought I'd post a graph anyway. This is pokerstars only as it's a USD graph and does not belong in the staking deal I have so I wanna keep those stats "pure"

I've been away for a while for reasons beyond my control.

As some of you may have read, there was a big crackdown on Italian gambling sites. I don't really want to get into which sites I play on, but let me just say that I am no longer able to play on them. There is no real guess on if or when these sites will come back online, or if we're even gonna be able to cash out our money. I have very limited amounts of info and really don't want to talk or think about it.

I have been spending the last few days drinking and thinking about what I want to do when it comes to poker. I have created an account on another site and started playing there, but I doubt I will be able to get in enough volume there. I have also been thinking about switching to PLO and getting back to playing on Stars.

I'll give both options a fair amount of thought and trial, and will see what I end up doing. For now I think this thread will be kept relatively inactive till I have come up with a decent plan.
