I've seen a lot of goals on here where players want to go from $300 to $100K and I think it's great when they get there. I wanted to start something similar, but felt that that goal was too big so I've set myself something a little smaller.
My current bankroll is $495. I'm not going to bore you with details of what games I used to play, but I'm going to attempt to get up to $900 so I can play play the $4.50 180 mans and other $4.40 MTTs regularly.
1. By March 10th have $900 in my account
2. Stick to strict 200xABI rules
3. Start with $2.50 90 mans and other MTTs using the above BR rule
4. Post results on here after each session
5. Set myself a new goal when I reach $900
I'm hoping that having a goal/challenge set will give me enough determination to succeed. Here goes...
I'm going to review some of the hands I felt I got a bit wrong and see if I just ran into the top of villains' ranges or they were always going to have strong hands. On to the next session...
umm...i thought your going to be strict with your brm?? adding 4.50$ 180 man already :O
Do post your 2$ 90 man results
I'm keeping strict 200xABI buy in rule so I could play a selection of MTTs from $1-$4 as long as the ABI was around the $3 mark. Hope that clears that up.
Another great session today, four final tables!!! I played 7 $2.50 90 mans and came 2nd in one and 6 $4.50 180 mans and came 3rd, 4th and 5th. Also came in the money in a $4.40 1000 cap.
Challenge going much better than expected at the moment. Fingers crossed I can continue to run good, play well and set myself a new target before the month is out!
Struggling to get a massive volume in at the moment - feel comfortable with about 8 tables at a time, but seem to be going quite far in them and then not wanting to load more as I'm well into my session. Will try harder for more games in the next few sessions.
Not a great session today. As soon as I had loaded all the tournaments I just didn't feel in the zone and felt like I wanted to do something else. Came 13th in a $4.50 180 man and that was it. 9 tournaments, ABI: $3.67
I think I'm going to take a bit of a break. My head wasn't in it today and I don't want another session where I'm not 100% focussed. Will see how I feel tomorrow...
So today's session was a bit crazy as I was doing really well in a $4.50 180 man when PokerStars stopped working properly. After about an hour of waiting all the tournaments were cancelled and rolled forward. I came out pretty well since I was 4th in chips in the 180 man, good for somewhere between 3rd and 4th place money.
So a pretty good result, especially when I was worried that I might just get my buyins back for the tournaments I was still in. Almost at the $900 target, so fingers crossed I can get there before March 10th.
Played another small session today and I have to say that I'm just not feeling poker as much as I used to. Before I would be happy to play for hours and hours a day, but now I just get really bored after an hour and want to do something else.
Ah well, played 7 MTTs today and made just a tiny loss.
