Cheers. Yeah I guess I can't complain about being positive over the challenge. I am happy that I finished it before the day I would say I would finish it.

hahah I am not sure if it is the elephant in the room as my VPIP and PFR on zone is a running joke amongst the ignition/bovada community. Lots of people ask me about this, particularly on stream. Rapidesh answers most of it in his post above. I do however disagree with pocket pairs being non breakeven.

I won't go into too much detail but essentially:

1. Rake is high
2. Annonymous
3. All your money is made from CO, BTN, SB and BB (what you open/fold from MP+EP will not drastically effect your overall WR [in my opinion])
4. Hands/hr (increases hourly)
5. Hands that increase your VPIP are BE or slightly + EV (become neg EV in high rake environments). They are only opened on screen name games to increase the EV of your overall strategy.

Hahaha unfortunately I haven't earned as much as him. But thanks for the grind respect. I try my best.

At least you are doing a lot more study than other people! I used to not study much back in the day. Develop quickly if you study. Playing is also just as important though, so make sure you try find the balance!
Great Job Scuz! Just curious how much did you pay in rake for the 100k hands and obv this was a poor month but do you know your $/hr for the month?

I play 18/15 my WTSD% is 27 and my WSD is 57
I know that does not mean anything, but that is real close to what u have.
We play tight. But I do it cause I am not good enough yet or at least not confident enough to loosen up.
Great videos. I enjoyed all you're videos, they inspire me to play more. Thanks for making them.

So we had our first live session at the Crown last night. All the boys had a good start to the trip.

Thanks to everyone who came and said hello to me at the table. Appreciate the nice comments and having a chat with everyone. Was very good fun.

I personally probably will not be playing tonight (going to watch my cousins gig). Will see how the rest of the weekend will treat us.

No results or hand history for live $2/5?? I figured you would be bored out of mind and write down all interesting hands at least. lol, just playing.... have fun and enjoy it, live poker is amazingly soft when you are use to only grinding online esp. at your stakes.

Nice result from the first live session than congrats.
How did you feel with all the limping and passive play in live poker? IMO it does take some getting use to, also having played online much then live I have had hard times with correct bet sizing and figuring out how big the pot was lol.

Well I have played a bit of live. Particularly when I was travelling last year so I was prepared for the ridiculously high frequency of cold calling and limping preflop. Yeah I used to have trouble with counting the pot and bet sizes but I feel I am pretty good at it now.

Last night I ended up going to the casino to meet up with the other boys after the gig at around 1am and decided to play some chill 1/3 since I was pretty drunk. My mate who was holding my money (since I didnt want to take lots of cash out to the gig and bars afterwards) was responsible and only gave me 2 buyins for 1/3. I have never ever found a better way to sober up in less than an hour than by playing 9 handed live poker. I was continually folding and seeing the most insane hands of poker in my life. I have played live in nearly 10 different countries and I have never ever seen a game as soft as 1/3 live in Melbourne. The 2/5 game on Wednesday was pretty soft but oh my..... the 1/3 game is something else.

Anyway I was pretty card dead most of the night. I knew I just had to be patient and when I made a hand I knew I was going to win a stack. It wasnt until about 4am till I finally got a spot.

Table is 6 handed.

Hero 8h7h SB.
Nit reg limps.
Whale over limps.
I squeeze to 20 out of SB.
Nit reg folds.
Whale calls.

Flop - 43$ - Ac4d8c

Hero bets 15
Whale calls.

Turn - 73$ - 8s

So I have been analysing how the whale plays all night. I knew when checked to he always stabbed with any two.

Hero checks
Whale bets 25
Hero raises to 80
Whale jams about 273 effective.

At this point I am over the moon with what has happened. Whale has been getting out of line and playing rubbish hands. I thought whale might have had like Ax.

Anyway whale asks me what I have and I tell him I have an 8. He also tells me he has an 8. Honestly I thought I was so good. Hes been playing rubbish as bad as 82.
River comes a 7 (what I thought was irrelevant) and whale tables k8o. I was like omg this guy actually had me beat in my one spot all night. I then tabled 87 and he was pretty frustrated about it (obviously). So I 3 outered a whale for a full stack.

That was legit the only significant hand I played all night. I red lined a bit towards the end but ultimately ended the session up $323 (+1 buyin).

Not a bad result for a 4 hour session card dead and drunk for the first hour or so.

Today there will be no degenning. Going to be playing 2/5/10 tonight. Probably fire 3 bullets (maybe more if the game is soft). Will post updates post session.

Okay so today was a pretty successful night.

Played in the 5/10 game tonight. Didnt realise it was a straddled game so effectively played as a 10/20 game. I wasnt really expecting it to be 10/20 so only rocked up to the table with 3 buyins for 5/10 in cash. I stupidly didnt want to embarass myself by leaving so I decided to play with 75bb and take 2 buyin shot. The table was 7 handed with two whales (what I assumed) and rest pretty reggy line up. I thought I had an edge short handed.

After about 10 minutes it clicked in my head that it would probably be better to just play 2/5 with 3k as opposed to having 1.5 buyins for 10/20. So I decided to wait for the straddle before leaving the table. Hand before my straddle I get dealt AQo.

I open to 60
Reg 3bets to 225 out of BB (assuming reg is 3b or folding out of blinds)
I flat IP

Flop - $485 - QhJc7h

Villain checks
I bet 250
Villain calls

Turn - 4c - $985

Villain checks
I jam 1000~
Villain tank calls.

River is a brick 6
And I turn over AQ and villain mucks

Anyway so now I have doubled but still want to go but don't want to look like a hit and run whale so I have decided that I will play for an hour or if I lose my stack on the table. I don't want to give myself a bad reputation by leaving (for future purposes).

Anyway I kept playing for another 30 minutes and the 2 regs to my left were pretty good. They were aggressive 3betting and 4betting me a lot. However I noticed a lot of bet sizing mistakes, particularly multi way which I thought I capitalised on well.

So after about an hour or so I realised that I had an edge on the table so I decided to just play out my 2 buyins.

Hand 2: Hero Qd8d

Weaker player (maybe whale?) Flats the straddle.
I isolate to 80 out of BB
Reg in straddle folds.
Villain calls.

Flop comes AhQh9d
I bet 55
Villain calls 55

Turn - 270 - 8c
Vill has about 1400 left so I tried to set up jam for river and bet fold turn.

I bet 380 and villain jams stack.

At this point Im now super disgusted with my hand. Villain probably has 16 combos of JT so I fold. Get berated for folding two pair but I just laugh.

Hand 3: I have TT on BTN

Tilted reg who just got stacked raises from UTG to 60. I 3bet 190 and this is the third time I have 3bet this reg and have folded to two cold 4 bets.

Reg essentially min raises me to 450.
I was thinking about jamming because of the dynamic but he seemed to tilted to fold so I decide to flat

Flop comes JdTd6x

Villain bets 300 and I call
Turn is a brick 4x?
He overbet jams and I snap.

He says hes dead before I even show my hand.
River is 6 and I boat up for a 4.2k pot.

Anyway keep playing for another hour or so and then the boys come over because they want dinner. I leave my chips on the table to come back. They then told me some inside info that some of those regs are a part of a study group and some share rolls so I started to feel uncomfortable about the situation. Decided to take my money off as three of them were to my direct left. Im not sure how reliable their sources were but I was told by two different regs similar stories.

After dinner I decided to play 2/5. Basically ran hot for a good few hours and ended up another $800 at 2/5.
One notable hand from 2/5.

Hero in High jack? AxKc (forgot the A suit).

Whale opens to 20.
I 3bet to 70
Reg cold calls
Whale flats.

Flop AhTd3d - 210
I bet 140?
Reg calls 140
Whale folds.

Turn - Th - 490
I check
Reg overbet jams 580
And I snap

I didnt think villain would have any Tx for two reasons:
1. Reg cold calls a preflop 3bet - only have suited variant of 10x
2. I bet into 3 and because the T is not offsuit (no Tx with flush draw)

Anyway I snap and reg has 33 for a boat.

Pretty happy with the night. Ended up 3.9k so not a bad friday night. Anyway this took me ages to write up and Im too tired for the minor details

maybe... I will continue out the year focusing online but I do want to travel Europe again. Maybe I will play more live poker over there next year.

I played mainly 2/5. I didn't really play as much poker to be honest. I think I only played 15 hours total. I spent most of the time to catch up with my friends and family. I think I saw everyone I needed to. Leaving today. My mate has a spare room at his place so I am considering closing out the year living in Melbourne. I need to think about it for a bit.

Thank you!!!!!

If anyone has any unique or interesting challenges that will motivate me to pump out volume for October. Let me know so I can make it my next series. Otherwise I am going to spend the next couple of days working out my October goals.

Wanna do a prop bet on who gets more volume?

Whoever gets the least volume owes the other player the number of hands less played x $0.10

So if I play 50k hands and you play 100k hands I owe you $5k.

I want slightly better odds though

This is a good proposition. When did you want to start this? I definitely would not have it in me to start grinding volume any time this week. I need to get back home first, fix my sleep and diet and also work out whether I want to live in melbourne for the rest of the year.
