Day 16/60

Here is the graph for day 16:

Not a great day. Been running into some really stupid spots recently and have not been playing these spots very well because they are very unorthodox.

Anyway I have been complaining a bit (like all poker players do) and have decided to impose myself another challenge within the challenge. This is to fix my mental leaks.

Everytime I complain/screenshot or send a bad beat story to bani or one of my other poker friends I will donate $1 to charity.

So far I owe $3. I went 2 days without saying anything and then today I had to unleash.

Overall Progress:

Winrate: 4.52bb/100
Hands: 31,387/100,000
Donation to charity count: $3

No video for day 16 as there were literally no interesting hands. Unless you guys enjoy watching AK vs AK about 4 times.

I did get some entertaining hands for day 17 so hold on for tomorrow's video!

I am not sure yet. I will do some research over the course of the challenge or if someone can recommend me one that is efficient and effective with their resources.

Day 17/60

Here is the graph for day 17:

What looked to be a promising start ended in pure pain. Apparently its possible to drop 6 buyins within ~500 hands. I actually thought day 17 was my best played day. Here is a screenshot of my mental ratings I give myself after every session (highlighted Day 17 in blue).

Video for Day 17 has been uploaded:

Overall Progress:

Hands: 33,874/100,000
Winrate: 3.34bb/100

adding another 1$ to charity for this comment - apparently I cannot read graphs (went up nearly 6 buyins in ~300 hands according to graph)

Day 18/60

Here is the graph for Day 18:

Another frustrating day where a lot of things do not go my way. Just need to push past this rut by putting in volume. Had a little bit of a vent so adding $3 to the charity fund.

No video content for Day 18 - literally no interesting hands.

Overall Progress:

Winrate: 3.46bb/100
Hands: 35,998/100,000

Day 19/60

Here is the graph for day 19:

Standard session, not too much explanations needed.

Once again very few interesting hands so no video content.

Day 20 and 21 = no volume. Taking a break over Easter weekend.

Overall Progress:

Winrate: 3.94bb/100
Hands: 38,289/100,000
Donation to Charity count: $7

Day 20/60 = No Volume

Day 21/60 = No Volume

Day 22/60

Here is the graph for day 22:

As I said, I took the Easter weekend off as a break. Came back and had a decent session. I didn't play too well in certain spots. Played approximately 4 hours. Am on track to reach 100k hands by day 60 so that is a positive. I will probably do a halfway reflection when I hit 50k hands (hopefully this week).

Overall Progress:

Winrate: 4.25bb/100
Hands: 40,358/100,000

Video:

Definitely get a video out tomorrow for you guys. Really sorry about the lack of content in the last few days. I do have quite a bit of content from the last couple of days so maybe I will do a highlights video for both day 21-22.

Video updates are the best, looking forward to that. Easter weekend was probably one of the most ridiculous in terms of that $200nlZ pool, fish just giving away money seriously.

Anyways, do you think its still possible to obtain a 10bb W/R at this point over the next 60k hands? Also if not are you going try and do this same type challenge in the future if this one doesn't work out?

Oh really... kind of annoyed I missed out hahha

It is definitely still possible, will definitely have to run well. I think the next 20k hands will determine whether I will be able to achieve the 10bb/100. If I can attain 6bb/100 by 60k hands and then just run like god for the last 40k it will be done. Of course this is not a true reflection of my winrate as 100k hands is a very small sample. My true winrate could be higher or lower.

Personally I think 1 million hands would be a good indicator on your 'true' winrate. Over the last 3 years I played on stars I accumulated around ~1.5m hands and averaged about ~4bb/100 across the stakes so I would be honestly surprised if I could maintain anything over 6bb/100 on ignition across large sample.

I would definitely love to continue creating video content for poker. I probably will not do another short term challenge like this unless I come up (or someone recommends something interesting). I would be down to do a heads up prop bet with someone.

I might create some strategy content over on ACR as I feel like I'm not playing theoretical poker on Ignition.

I would also like to improve my tournament play after this challenge so maybe I could do a tournament challenge. Although I personally enjoy playing and watching cash game content so maybe I will stick to it.

Let me finish this challenge first and then I can decide on what's next.

Thanks for all the in depth answers. I also really enjoy the the videos and would watch any mid-stake cash content you are going to put out in future so whatever you do decide to do as long as the vids are attached im all for it. Also ya Easter weekend was just absurd, not sure if it was because of the sports book people punting money or what but I haven't seen the pool that good since Christmas time at least.

Thoughts on checkraising in the hand at 3:44? The 8 hits the ip's range much better than your turn checkraise range imo.

Also the 76dd hand at 2:22 was vs me.... wp sir

Assuming you called with a over pair then?

With my exact line, I need to be overbetting river (which essentially achieves the same as a check raise). Check raise on river seems too obvious so polarizing my range with an overbet on river seems better. It should be a pretty clear decision to fold vs a check raise on river with straights on this exact runout.

ahhh :/ unfortunate spot for you. Like I said you will own me a lot here, I will overbet bet bluff with most of my spade spade range so its a fine call. I think you called with KK IIRC. I think calling with overpairs with a club in the hand seems good and folding the rest of range. I guess on zone where everything is anonymous, we are discouraged to protect our range on river so we really do need to be calling off with some of our overpairs. I guess a positive is you featured in one of my videos !! Now you need to get me back

Day 24/60

Here is the graph for day 24:

Obviously a disastrous day. Things just did not go my way. My 80/20 game was not on point and I made a few **** ups. My final session of the day was very good. However still felt agitated whilst playing. Improved my note taking as well throughout the course of the day. Considering dropping my reg tables to really ramp up focus on zone so I can regain some winrate so I don't embarrass myself at the end of this challenge.

Overall Progress:

Winrate: 3.38bb/100
Hands: 44,742

New Video is UP!

My friend would always complain about not knowing what villain's hands were so I decided to edit in the hands. Let me know if this is a good addition to the videos. Still got a few things I want to improve/add to my videos.

Also let me know what you guys think of the hands. Enjoy

Some brutal spots in that last video, TT v JJ & that rivered set vs the bluff with 55. I really do like the new addition though of show villains hands. As always awesome video and best of luck.

With my current embarassing winrate I feel like I am not qualified to give you advice on how to improve winrate. My theory is not as good as it was back in 2016 (as I took a year off poker to go travelling - here come the excuses) so I would not be a good source for fundamentals (Maybe you can check out Brokenstars https://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/members/333016/ coaching for this)

However if you want to improve your winrate on a macro level I can suggest a few things:

- Analyse what the population is doing - and if you play on sites with names check what the good regs are doing and how you can counter their play.
- Improve your BB and BTN strategy
- (What I believe is most important) Sort out the mental aspect of your game. Honestly this is what makes or break your winrate. If you play A+ for 1 hour and then you punt off 2 stacks in the last hour of your session all the small fundamental stuff you applied goes out the window. Your +0.0001bb EV check raise is going to mean nothing if you punt off a triple barrel in a spot that is -90bb EV and you do this every session.

I will do a reflection post at 50k hands that might reveal some stuff that I will improve on in the back end of my challenge so stick around for that. I think I will hit 50k hands after today?

I think we can all relate to this. When we lose our stack after 3 barreling in a 3bet pot, we just say that it's a low frequency play and just move on. Then it happens again and we never improve.

But I'm looking forward do your feedback.

I subscribed to Brokenstars' thread and his twitch channel earlier today.

Good luck,
hilss

p.s. my attention span is on par with a pigeon... so your short youtube videos are perfect.

Day 25/60

Here is the graph for day 25:

Haven't had one of these days in a while. I actually think I played quite average in my first two sessions of the day and played 9/10 in my last session of the day. A lot of straight forward spots in this session as I ran well in certain spots. I also spent 4/6 hours watching brokenstar's stream and tried to include an interesting hand in the video. My mindset has also improved in the last 3 days which I think is helping with the results.

Overall Progress:

Winrate: 4.86bb/100
Hands: 47,858/100,000
Donation to charity Count: $8

Video for Day 25 is here:

https://youtu.be/GicaAXE1aCU

Something a little bit different for this video. Instead of 'Punt of the Day' I have done a strategy segment vs Brokenstars. It may not be that interesting but for me Blind vs Blind dynamic is one of my favourite. There are a lot of interesting ways to construct range / play your range vs a reg so I tried to share some insight on this.

Let me know if you guys like this segment, enjoy.
