We chatted about this on skype, but I think based on what I've been learning, that this is a pretty clear fold preflop. We have a pair, a gap, and bad FD vs an MP open.

Played another session tonight. I marked 22 hands, many were just very simple, should i have called preflop, should i have cbet flop, etc.

The preflop episode from 2x6 managed to turn me into a huge super massive nit. Hopefully further episodes will help me clarify when i should be playing some of the more speculative hands. Because as it is now, I feel like every hand looks like total garbage unless its a double run with no gaps. :/

Got all in on a 553 flop with 3456 vs naked AAxx and he bink the turn. Had to fold in a few large pots. But overall I don't think I made any spewy plays. But I was definitely erring on the side of being too tight.

Had a friend send me $100, so my starting roll will now be $110.

Current Roll: $107.25

Just sweated my good friend benjaminbarker for 10plo action (zomg high stakes!).

It was interesting to see how many spots both of us are entirely unsure about. Mostly spot with middling value, or weakish semi-bluffs. It's sometimes very tough to know if we want villains to fold to call.

For example, we have 92xx on 892 I think we should mostly prefer folds than calls. But what if we have 89xx? Or what if he had JT9x with a weak FD? Whats a better result?

You'd always prefer a fold IMO. Bet with all those hands though.

not to crystal ball too much but what thoughts do you have on the future of online poker with reguards to perhaps nlhe dying down and plo becoming the preferred game?

just considering how unsolved PLO is, the state of high stakes NLHE etc.

I think the idea that NLHE is dying, with regards to the difficulty of the game, is slightly overstated. But I do think its important to learn other forms of poker because NLHE may not be as popular in 10 years.

PLO may be the game a choice. Or maybe stud will come back into fashion (unlikely). Or some game no one plays now will be the popular game.

Graph so far this month. Only down $4 after rb tho.

I'm behind pace, but I'll get my 10k hands in. I've decided to allow myself to play 10plo bc I generally can only play plo late at night and 4plo generally only has 1-3 tables at those times.

I'm doing my session with my friend (CRs coach) this coming Saturday. Really looking forward to that.

Just had a sweat session with my friend, Djross. It was very helpful. I recorded it and will likely rewatch in the next few days.

There were many spots that I would have played differently and he helped explain the thought process behind why his way was better. I also found several spots where I would have made the right decision, but more from instinct than from understanding why I was doing it.

It was really helpful for some basic, practical things like do I open this hand? Yes bc BTN is a nit, or No bc BB is a shorty and our hand plays bad with shallow stacks. Things of that nature.

Djross makes videos for CardRunners as well. I have too much on my plate to watch every PLO vid out there, but I'll be adding his to the list of to-watch videos. Right after the 2x6 series from Selbst.

Played another session. Its so much harder than I expected it to be for me to put in any amount of PLO volume on top of my normal volume.

I plan on taking notes on pt2 of 2x6 sometime this week and posting them here.
