Hello everyone, hope everything is going well. I have been playing poker for around six months, and I am an breakeven NL player and then kind of bad at the other games. I think NL is really boring online, at least recently, since everyone knows the "correct" way to play and it kills a lot of action. I have really enjoyed playing and watching mixed games(Stud, O8, 2-7 SD), so I thought I should devote a portion of my bankroll on one of them. Stud 8 seems to have the most action on ACR, and I enjoy playing it a lot, so that's what I am starting with.

This is a cash game only bankroll. I hate tournaments, too long and they don't start until 12:30 am, so I'll be up until like 3 am playing. Just not really healthy and I also don't have a great understanding of stud tournaments.

I already have 7 sessions logged, for a total of 4.5 hours and a loss of $0.51. I am playing $0.04/0.08 on ACR, I want to get to $100 before I move up to the next stakes, which is $0.40/0.80.

Played a half hour session today, not too long. Had my most profitable session to date, up $1.45. Hit quad 6's which was my first quads ever in stud I think. Also, I quit while I was ahead, which is something that I needed to work on.

Current Bankroll: $25.94
Profit/Hr: $0.19
Big Bets/Hr: 11.75

Got another half hour in, less than what I wanted but had to take care of other things. Not a very good session, was down $1.07. Nothing really memorable, here's notes from the session:

Overplayed single pairs too much. Had one unlucky hand where I had 3456, then got 2 hi and a 3.

Also, I want to rewatch my hands so that I can improve, but I have the ACR hand history one. Any recommendations for stud?

Played 1 good session and one terrible session for a total of 2 hours and down -$1.06. Not really that I played terrible, but lost a few pots and then compounded it with tilt.

Notes:

(1)Had a good feel of where I was. Had a set of queens face up vs AA, he raised me so I should have folded, but couldn't

(2)Chased flush draw in a multiway pot, lost a huge pot. Also missed on 2 lows. Got 2 pair with aces twice, aces showing, got raised, was tilted and didn't let down even though I knew villain caught the straight.

Also, validscreenname on ACR is always at that table. Seems like a solid player to me.

Current Bankroll: -$23.81
Profit/Hr: -$1.19
Big Bets/Hr: -14.875

Really no good action ACR today which was disappointing. I can't complain too much though, since I am back in the green. I played 2 half hour sessions, one where I was up $1.15, and a heads up one where I was up $0.27.

Notes:

Had a couple straights, running really well. Actually laid down a good hand once I got reraised because I knew he caught his straight. This guy was normally very passive and had not raised at all.

Current Bankroll: $25.23
Profit/Hr: $0.03
Big Bets/Hr: 2.875

Also, I want to set a few goals, but they are kind of hard just because it is hard to predict how much action there will be on a given night. I planned on playing a huge session tonight because I had no homework, but there's no action so nothing I can do. Anyways, since I have a 3 day weekend coming up, I am going to set a goal that I play a 2.5 hour session. The highest I have ever gotten was 1.5 hours, so this is a good bump up.

Nothing good to say today, barely played.
Notes:
Bad session, I was just really exhausted. Should have not even played. Twice I had a 4 lo on 5th, could not get the 5th

Played a half hour session of around 20ish hands. It's not much, but stud games don't really fill up until I finish my homework, and by then I'm exhausted. Excited for the 3 day weekend, lots of stud in my future.
Another note, is my buy in big enough. I play $0.04/0.08, and I buy in for $2.40. I think 30 big bets is enough, but would like some input.

Notes:
Had a few 4 lo's by 5th street, didn't catch them but made 2 pair and won them.

Just had my best session ever, in terms of making consistently EV plays. I felt like I was in control and had a great idea of where I was. So obviously I end up with my greatest losing session this challenge. Absolute bloodbath, but that's how poker goes. This week has been complete sh*t, I switched over to ignition for NL, lose 4 buy ins to weaker opponents that make straight flushes over my full house or other crazy bad beats. Can't let it get to me though. Easier said than done. I have been able to quickly forget though. But I still think my mental game is weak.

Notes:
Played my best session ever, felt like I consistently made +EV plays for the first time ever. I was the best player there, and it wasn't even close. Could not catch a break, lost a huge pot to a straight flush at the end. Topped at $3.30, ended at $0.87. Also had good lo draws (7 or lower) on 5th and would catch nothing.

Current Bankroll: $23.11
Profit/Hr: -$0.17
Big Bets/Hr: -23.625

Came back with another good session, this time I made money. Reading Todd Brunson's section on Stud 8 in SS2 was really helpful and it has given me a good base.

Notes:
Just as good as last session.Made a great raise on 7th, where I reasoned out that I had the nut lo and my 4's could be good since he was going lo.

Small session, broke even. Nothing too much of note, but I do wish I had a HUD just so I can go over my hands like I do in NL, since I think it's stunting my growth. Nothing you can do though, they didn't have HUDs back in the day and there's a lot of good stud players.

Notes:
Spent more of the session down, managed to break even. Got "bluffed" off of lo draws a few times, though I don't think it was terrible. In both situations, I had a 8-7 lo in a multiway pot against a someone I though was on a lo draw with a 7 up and raised and had caught a lo on 4th, but just had a bad straight draw.

Not a good session at all, quit early. Thought there was a lot of fish, and there was. People reraising with a pair of tens in the hole, or 862 low, or just some crazy stuff. Unfortunately I couldn't get a piece of it and lost the one big pot I was in. Played it well, couldn't catch anything on 6th or 7th, and ended up losing to a guy who re raised QJ4 on third. Pretty embarrassing, but that's how cards work I guess. Also, once you dig yourself into a hole, it is hard to get out quickly, and this challenge is proving that.

Notes:
Just was pissed off, wasn't catching anything and was in some big pots.
