Hm is it that time in my life ?

Nah no investigation yet fortunately, just some problems because of legislations and me traveling, although they are taking their time to reply apparently, so still can't play.

Prob time to go underground

I made a highlight from Bill Perkins stream of a hand where he is facing a shove vs Mixgrill in a $11k pot, while getting asked if he's a billionaire #toorichtofold?

Didn't get much engagement on this one yet, do u guys this kind of stuff provides value as poker content?

Also, speaking of Mixgrill and streams, he is streaming this Sunday at 11pm Malta time on https://www.twitch.tv/bluffthespot

SO HOT

---

Here I am, on the floor of my sister's flat in Bucharest, after eating some pasta with tuna, jamming this tune

bit weird with the guys but if u are emotional u can even cry to the song / vid combo.

I went grocery shopping earlier while these massive snowflakes were gently caressing my soft smooth facial features. First snow I see this winter, a pretty nice one.

I am not rly playing much poker lately - blocked on stars / plenty to do in other areas / hanging out with ppl.

It's funny how diff ppl can have so different perceptions on money. f.uck too distracted by facebook chats. Ok closed fb. Yeah how ppl can view themselves so differently in relation to money.

I offered to pay for the house groceries earlier, which was around 70euro. For ppl in Romania that's a substantial amount of money. And it was for me as well for most of my life. Now it feels good to be a mental place of abundance where I can spend that and say 'feels so good to be relaxed on spending this amount of money'. So let's say I'm one level above average Romanians.

But then this mfker that I met on my Croatian adventure posts a bank withdrawal on our group chat, saying he;s cashing out on some of his investments, while showing this sum

How do you think he sees himself in relation to money? Just normal people from the outside, so different realities when it comes to money.

And I do think it's first changing your perception of money and what is for you: a lot of money, enough money, insignificant amount of money.

Above all, it's about getting the life you desire, not necessarily sums of money. Or maybe it is.

PS. moneymaking machine Mixgrill is streaming in 1h45m (11PM malta time) on https://www.twitch.tv/bluffthespot , might wanna check it out.

Cya soon

Interesting post, and something I've considered a lot. I think it's really important to not keep moving the goalposts. Take time to be happy about how far you've come, and honestly try to have an end goal. Just spending your whole life reaching for the next rung is a surefire way to be unhappy.

The consensus in happiness studies tends to be that you can't be happy if you're broke, but then after you can afford the basics the link between money and happiness breaks down. And surely the end goal has to be happiness, not money. I also think that spending the money to improve your quality of life (for me Lasik, travelling, getting a cleaner, laundry done etc has allowed me to realise the benefit of a good financial situation in happiness terms.)

On the other hand, lambo or gtfo etc

Yes agreed, def a trap hard to avoid, always looking to the future for happiness. Lambo or gtfo

Life = Solved.

On a more serious note, this may be the case (that freedom = everything) for TimStone but someone else may have a different motivation that would make them very happy.

This was recent realization for me, that there is no 'GTO' way to view life and goals. From the 4 big categories of motivations - Material (money), Mastery (status, being the best), Mating (relationships, sex), Freedom (doing w/ev the **** u want) - different people prefer different ones.
So that's why someone's approach to life that is mainly driven by Material motivation may not be good for someone who is mainly driven by Mating motivation.

For example, freedom is also a big one for me, but gf once said it's not rly important for her, doesn't mind to be pretty constrained in a relationship, that it actually makes things easy for her.

On a similar note, recently I am involved in taking personality tests and this kind of f.aggotry, def discovering some new stuff about me that actually makes sense. Also, on a narcissist test i scored 10/10 in Superiority lol, how much better than others I consider myself. But is it a bad thing if it's true?

I just LoL'd!

I was eating dinner with my mum, dad & sister yesterday and my sister was telling me about one of her best friends just got dumped and her ex was so nice to post the result of a "12 signs your partner is a narcissist" test he took where his ex scored pretty damn high. Feels like the most douchy thing in the history to dump someone then post that, but oh well. Then they started discussing her and I was like "omg, she's me".

I dunno if it's good or bad. I think that to be the best you also has to honestly feel for yourself that "you are the best". Not in the world, but in your games, or that you are top 10 on your stake or whatever. If you can't say that, you're not confident, and if you're not confident when you're playing you'll only end up second guessing yourself more and more, so IMO thinking in those lines isn't a bad thing.

Does it make us a narcissist? Probably not, me, maybe yeah :P

Material
Mastery
Mating
Freedom

Are the above categories of motivation specific to only your life, or what you think others should strive towards as well? Answer that honestly, it's important imo (doesn't have to be in here).

I can only relate to two of those myself, but also have a few more "motivation categories" that I try to strive towards each day, and also believe that others should do, too.

So Clanty's 2 objectives are Mastery and Freedom

I wouldn't be surprised if all 4 are nice categories to "reach for". I guess you can swap Mating to "sex" for a lot of people that don't need to/aren't ready to "mate", but apart from that I like the categories.

I don't think you need material until you've had them. Once you've had them/it it becomes slightly more addicting. I have a nice Breitling, but I'm gonna buy myself a Rolex Daytona next year if I ever reach a mini goal. It'll be my own "celebration" that I did something correctly. Even Sir Alex Ferguson said that it's important to "celebrate your victories" (even if it meant his players go out on the piss with a new match in 3 days). And I think that's a decent way to live unless if you overdo it...

Also, if you've never had a tailor made/armani/D&G Suit you'll never understand how it feels to have one. Even if 99% of the population can't tell the difference you just walk on a cloud feeling/thinking you're the king. Which I guess is the point.

Doing some Inner work is important as well.
Learn to be happy in the present moment and stop desiring things.
(and then downgrade from there )

Meditate and have some time by yourself.

Lol don't be sad bruh, I also found out from one of these tests that I'm very bad bf material. In poker specifically I don't feel super confident lately since I cannot play real poker since I came to visit Romania 2weeks ago

No, those are called the 4 M's of motivation and they are pretty much universally the main drivers behind our actions, whether we know it or not. Of course, depending on the person, the hierarchy of importance will differ. It's up to you to discover which ones are most important and use them as fuel to achieve your goals.

I do like your points and it does make sense that you first want to give the material part a try and then decide. Setting goals and rewarding yourself is also something I agree with and I'm def underdoing that.

=================

I have a really BIG GOAL right now. I know it sounds a bit ridic, but goal is to do a lot of reflection/work on myself/systematize my life better till 6th of January when I go back to Malta. I feel like I'm hitting a new paradigm in this area lately, like turning super sayan or something

Spoiler:

I used to reserve few hours for myself every Sunday, where I mostly do reflection / introspection on what the f.ck i am doing and things I should improve. I haven't done this s.hit since like 3months+, because 'I have more important things to do'. Oh yeah, very good prioritization skills.

Daniel
