Firstly I play 50nl, and secondly me telling you to man up and work on your mental game is literally the best the constructive advice in this whole thread, because its impossible to get anywhere in poker when you get upset over losing 7 stacks (lolz). The fact you don't even realize this and are so sensitive proves you need my advice and should be grateful i'm even wasting my valuable time in your insignificant thread.

btw, if $700 is a fair bit of money to you right now it sounds like you are playing too high, and should move down.

Haha if you read my posts I've clearly said I'm actually really happy with my mindset and I'm playing as good poker as when I'm winning, but clearly you're insistent on focusing on the worst short term parts of my posts for your self benefit. I've already been pretty honest about myself, my shortcomings and the opportunities I have for improvement, I don't need someone to repeat my weaknesses that I have already outlined, it has no use whatsoever (not that my mental game is a big weakness, I'd say it's actually strong in comparison to other players). I was blindly tolerating you across 2p2 while winning, but as I've said in my previous post I do not agree with lots of your actions. I don't want to continue criticising you, nor do I want you to do the same to me as it doesn't benefit either of us, so ideally I'd like to leave it here.

looooooooooooooooool cheers pal go waste your valuable time with your 2k posts sh*ting on some other insignificant thread I couldn't care less. I know my thread is insignificant, in fact nearly all threads on 2p2 as a website are insignificant, but I appreciate you pointing it out Wish you the best mate.

Decent day EV wise, lots of horrible runouts in big pots but still very happy with my game. I think 2 tabling has been really beneficial because it meant I can focus on some specific spots I've been working on, which I can then apply naturally on more tables later on.

H1: Noted this hand as I wasn't sure whether I should be stabbing turn, but turns out should be checked on both turn and river. It's because it's a v bad turn for BB so should be checking tons, which makes both ranges far stronger. However I do think vs pool (poor x ranges, rarely XR the line), and clearly vs how this guy creates his ranges it's a good bet.

Nice thread

What do you think about flatting 46s in bb vs btn in the above hand? I normally use these small suited connectors as 3bets from the bb but folding sometimes too depending on villains button steal frequency.

Maybe I should be flatting them sometimes... Keep it up!

Cheers mate. My strategy always has 64s as a flat, and 63s is a marginal defend vs 3x. Works fine as a 3B too, doesn't matter too much.

Was out all day yesterday so got no hands in, and today I've been working on some new stuff for my game so got about 2 hands in, so no graph but you'll be glad to hear I'm up $20 I've basically realised my studying was far too theoretical and wasn't as practical or efficient as other strategies. The studying I've done today is the amount I'd do over a week, I honestly think I can cover majority of flop strategies in different positions within the next fortnight. I was at first very reluctant to the new strat but I kinda realised it was cos I felt I had wasted my time studying. However I came to realise that my poker knowledge/understanding has increased ten-fold so it was worth it. So that's what I plan on doing, I'm also going to focus on really analysing my own leaks and big pool exploitations which I know there are. I know this is a sh*t update but w/e, I'm excited lol

Up $286 over 554 hands, $196 EV, been studying most of the day hence the volume.

I've realised I am (/was) a terrible player, yet I'm very excited. I'm stunned at how 100NL players can't play even a decent flop strategy on a large percentage of flops, let alone the different turns/rivers that come off next, it's incredible. In poker I've found there's a continuous cycle you go through, apply a strategy, feel super confident about your strategy, run bad, doubt strategy, realise your strategy was actually quite poor (but fine in respect to competitors) and your thinking breaks through a ceiling holding you back. I'm at the ceiling braking phase right now as you can tell by these latest posts lol, so I've been studying quite a bit.

A thing I've come to realise is all these players saying poker is dead are lazy to be honest. Years ago poker theory was very basic, and the very top players found the maximal exploits using the top level of poker theory and tools possible. There were different levels of players, those who could exploit more than others. The same exists now but poker theory has increased exponentially and is far more readily available. The very top players find the maximal exploits using the top level poker theory and tools to absolute crush like before, you just need to discover them like they had to before. The base poker knowledge of bad regs/fish has increased, but poker theory and the tools available have increased with it. Yes, I would think possible winrates have decreased but poker is in no way dead you just need to find the top stuff to become the top players.

Dunno just some stuff I've been thinking about, but you can tell I feel confident in the growth I can make in the next few months. Plan for tomorrow is to do some errands, gym, maybe go shopping, football and get some studying inbetween all that, should be quite busy!

Currently in a weird spot where I'm making good progress but I don't feel like playing too much since I'm inbetween two strategies, my old one and a better more improved one so I get a little conflicted. I've been putting in some hands herre and there but hopefully should be back to a full grind sometime next week.

Here are some hands from my last session:
H1: Really happy with this checkback. Sometimes my ego calling me a nit makes me value bet in these spots but it turns out to be a good checkback.

It's atrocious lol, had more similar hands today. It amazes me how these regs aren't value betting here when 2NL regs like f1tz know it's a clear bet

Making more progress with my game, really happy with it and hopefully we should see it in my results (ideally we should see my redline go up to being positive). Been 2 tabling today, trying to implement what I've worked on and making some good notes on the pool, lots of regs are making clear mistakes that I think they're completely oblivious to.

Lots of other hands where I've got nut worst bluffing/calling runout etc but don't wanna spam, just running really poor recently. I'm quite suprised that my redline is +ve (and almost b/e today) given how much I've been calling once/twice and folding. Working all tomorrow and weekend at a bar which should be fun, so probs won't get anything in till Monday. gl

No its called good value betting. You would only avoid it if villains are capable of making moves, so in other words should just bet. Usually weak regs are scared to value bet thin because they lose their minds when raised.

Been working/drinking all weekend as a bar staff and had a lot of stuff going on at home so been mentally + physically exhausted and still am tbh so only looked at playing poker today. Going to keep it chill for the moment and play when I feel like it, and try fit in studying when I can.

Still been running very poorly, running into top 10% range consistently or getting folds vs bottom 20% of ranges with value in big pots. I do feel like I'm gaining some momentum and my edge vs pool is increasing more and more each day. Also would like to say I'm going to post fewer hands where I am trying to make new exploits etc or things that I think the pool are missing out on because unfortunately it does reduce my EV. I will try to continue to post as interesting/strategical hands as possible though.

Getting dead p*ssed off now lol, I've had a good winning day yeah mainly from a couple big pots but still running horribly, every turn seems to be near nut worst (for the pools ranges) and then most rivers seem to rub in it too. Was really hoping to make some good hard progress this month and rest of summer but gone in the complete other direction so far (results wise, studying/game has progressed v well). It's incredibly frustrating studying consistently for a 2+ hours each day then playing and consistently finding myself at bottom of ranges or vs top of ranges. I'm patient and can laugh about it tbh, just need to let off some steam sometimes

Since I haven't done a review of last month I'll do a quick one now.

Obviously a horrible month (I know it's only a 12 BI swing stfu haha) and the volume is poor due to slowly getting back into game after 2-3 month break and wanting to study hard meant I felt it was most valuable playing 2 tables. I am slightly concerned about the drastic change in my redline (was breakeven pre-break) is it natural for a redline to go down on a downswing so drastically? I'm a little worried I'm missing something from my previous style causing a -ve redline (although I feel my new strategy is more redline orientated than the previous).

Plan going forward this month is to pretty much continue with what I'm doing currently, studying and playing but I'll play 3 tables as much as I can and try to ensure my volume is more in the evenings.

As for today.

Went over some work I'd done before and seems like I am still playing well, could be a little more aggressive in spots and go for a harder explo approach in some spots but still happy with my game.

Think it's really the middling pots killing me atm, constantly calling twice folding bad rivers reducing their bluffing freqs significant or being at bottom of range. Also never seem to be calling and seeing bluffs. Mental game still strong, never tilting and playing top game it's just grinding me down a little. Always thought those who complained about variance were little bitches but turns out I'm the biggest one haha.

Bankroll @ $2.7k, going to continue playing 100NLz until $2k. I'm still 100% sure I'm beating these games, but I'm humble enough to move down to 50z if need be.

Anyone reading this, idc what stakes would appreciate your thoughts on the hands and if you think there's anything else I can do differently. Good luck to everyone at the tables and I'm sorry for how whiny this pgc has got

Some could be played better but all basically coolers. AKo hand , when you flat flop oop your just letting villain check behind and realize equity in a big pot, which is bad he essentially just froze you with his ******ed min raise. J9s, is only a fold vs reg also.

2.7k is kinda thin to keep grinding on at 100, esp if you plan to move down at 2k. Would recommend 2.5k at the very least, unless you know you're already crushing the games; the variance in Poker is a lot bigger than people realise!

my thoughts on the hands
h1 - raise flop vs rec and call vs a smaller size
h2 - mostly raise flop
h3 - raise turn
h4 - just jam flop and have no calling range
h5 - block/ob, this size isn't a thing

I'm sure you will do really well if you keep on grinding, you've got a good head on your shoulders!

gooooood luck

What is a fish gunna be jamming that a reg wouldn't there?

Cheers, thanks for the kind words and I'll take your advice about brm and move down at 2.5k.

Cos I didn't label hands + I think your ones are wrong too haha I'll guess which ones.
H1 (J4s): Are you saying vs reg we'd want to raise more vs larger size?
H2 (J9s): Think this is almost always a call otf no?
H5 (A8s I think): I get merit for ob and would've previously, but makes sense to bet this sizing with AJ-A9 portion of range and check worse AX imo than blockbet/ob, moreso on AXXX. Also I've stopped ob as often it makes me unbalanced when I want to value bet these hands which aren't ob worthy (e.g. AT) and I don't think it contributes sig EV to complicate it. Not sure if you have any thoughts on that?
