Another nice day, ran insanely hot today in terms of hitting hands, more than any other day so far. 20bb/100 EV adjusted

H1: This is the first hand since the resurrection of this PGC I've felt really bad about so far. I got caught inbetween two minds, what our range should be doing and what our specific hand should do. I do like balance, but I pride myself on being explo as possible and in this spot, I think our range wants to call vs 3B range, but folding equity OTT with this hand is awful so I'd rather jam.

03/04/2018 (Month Recap also)
Watch AJvParker and went out sunday night, was hanging all of monday so didn't play over those days. I'll do a quick month recap of march and then update on todays sesh.
March-Today

Very happy with these results, has got me really motivated to carry on studying since I was very much a BE reg before I studied hard. I know it's a small sample, run good blah, but I feel great about my game and look forward to the future. I also managed to finish studying BTNvBB in march and started HJvBTN.

Still got things to work on, my goals for this month are take shots at 100NL in the time I've got left in my holidays. I'll probs have to stop grinding while back at uni due to exams, but I'll carry on studying poker maybe an hour a day or something.

Today
skrr skrrr

Weird day, so many hands that I could post here I'll try pick the best to reduce the spam. The BBEV (37.88) doesn't actually affect me that much mentally, I just know eventually I will get those chips.

H3: Really regret this hand, fold is too far imo. Turn I was going for XR. RiverI think I should just pay them off. I'd guess they have 6 FHs or so here, so we need few bluffs/worse value here so meh, folding is a bit too cheeky imo.

hey, cool thread. as a mtt'er trying to figure out cgames a bit more and started at 50z myself. hands look ok to me, you seem to have the right mindset to crush. The one thing that did catch my eye tho is that you sometimes use combo's or lines you pbb shouldn't for bluffs. But that's just my opinion, i'm still a cgame noob as well

Currently PIOing and discussing hands w friends. Not sure what level you're at but I'd say at 10NL going on the micros forum and watching streamers play and questioning why they took a line with that hand + sizings they had is best. imo too many ppl just look at big hands like AA getting xr or smtg, when their game improves far more by looking at more general range questions.

Just checked your pgc looks cool, good luck with cash games. What hands do you reckon were OOL, would help me to reevaulate my strat if you disagree w me. I know some hands will be a little frisky, partly me testing stuff out or exploiting pool.

PMed you.

Took a shot @ 100NLz today and went very well. There's some (bad) regs from 50NLz also in the pool, very excited to see how this goes.

H1: Dunno man. I don't like how I played this hand vs reg or vs whale (not known at time). IG I wanted to X turn, but decided not too because we are this deep and was concerned villain wouldn't vbet thin enough. Even when betting, I don't like the OB either.

To be honest I'm not sure I want to keep on posting so many hands, I feel like if ppl figure out my SN they gain a significant edge. I enjoy allowing other players to learn/judge/disagree with how I played my hands but I'm not sure if it's worth it or not, has anyone got any opinions on this?

Glad to hear the shot went well, I don't mind the overbet with 88 on turn but def should be followed up by a large riverbet as well then, don't understand the sizing at all q9s I guess call this combo and raise QK+ or something

I'll admit I was a little nervous w no time bank so did panic a bit lol. I still don't like the overbet bc it only makes sense to do with this specific combo since they still have up to 9 sets and I don't wanna OB AA/AK. River I would have liked to gone about 60%, as I would with AK or so as once again betting big doesn't make sense. It still allows villain to raise AJ, maybe spazz occasionally which is what I was thinking w the 1/3p in game. imo 60% achieves a similar thing but gets more value from AX calling hands (especially vs this guy) but since I OB turn, I was worried it created a dynamic where AJ wouldn't raise river if I bombed river too hence the smaller size. I think this hand would be better if I just bet turn a normal size or XC turn.

Yeah Q9 depends on what range they're donking here and how much TX is within it. For now I think I'll raise AQ+ and see what happens.

Very little volume last few days, not really been in the right state of mind to play. Nothing poker related, just felt a little lost recently and I need to work studying for my exams in a couple months. Probably a good thing I don't want to play otherwise I might just tilt off lots of money I've grinded so far.
Graphs since last post or so.

Not sure what my volume will be like, honestly I might just take some time away from poker until I get my studying under control first.

GL at 100nl, im playing 25nl and taking shots at 50nl.

when you say you are PIOing, does that mean you are looking at different spots and just looking thru your game?

I need to do this too and need to know how to look thru spots that i play incorrectly.

Btw if you wanna discuss some hands with someone pm me. Shot-taking 50NL and Moving Up

H1: Think this is a turn fold due to the shear amount of AX I have here. Not sure how much JX we want to defend here, maybe the best ones which unblock bluffs. River bluff makes up for it though, obvs got QT/KQ/QXss.

There were also coolers both ways but they're just boring to read. Got a solid daily routine I'm trying to stick too (although I should be asleep hours ago lol) which helps me fit more poker/free time in.

BR is about £3.15k, that's up £2k in the last 3.5 weeks which is mad. I'm very much looking forward to the summer where I can pretty much play poker full time, hopefully can make some serious progress.

“Once you bid farewell to discipline you say goodbye to success.” - Sir Alex Ferguson

Think I might add some quotes in these posts every so often that apply to myself and possibly others in the poker community too. Love SAFs book "Leading" and he's quite a inspo (let's just not talk about todays result).

Really good last few weeks (BR 1K -> 3.3k, haven't got cash from a chest once wtf ). There's definitely some weak points in my game, mostly BBvSB and some 3BP spots which I'll hopefully work in the next feel week. Gl to anybody grinding tables this week

H1: Nasty runout. This guy had done some questionable barrels so called down. I'm interested in how much the blocking affects of this combo affects EV, or even its a profitable call. I have a feeling our calling range gets too weak if we call this down and all Qs.

Since it's been about a month since I started actually 'grinding' again I thought I'd look back at my graphs. This graph is from when I first moved to 50NLz on stars to me on 100z now, obviously small sample/run good etc after studying but it's nice to see + know you have an edge on pool.

And this is my graph of the past month. With this one it's far easier to see how much my game has changed with the BE red line, and the green line above 0

Really need to get back on the studying grind because it gathers far more EV than grinding does. glgl

Just looking through this thread as I've seen u post on the micro-small forum. Really inspiring to see how you are doing with abit of hard work and study . Hope I can get to where you are from 10nl as I have just started back playing again after not playing for best part of 12 month

Definitely possible, I was at 2NL like 14 months ago and its possible to have improved quicker than that. gl pal

18/04/2018 Last post for a while
Graph from last two days, starting playing worse over these last two days and also running worse also.

Going to take a break from poker. It's nothing related to results, how I'm playing etc, I just need to put 100% effort in my exams @ Uni. I do really enjoy poker but trying to improve/grind at the same time as intense studying is draining. I'd rather put 100% effort in studying now, and 100% poker in the summer over getting mediocre results in each. I'm really looking forward to the summer, working hard and hopefully moving up the stakes once again. Thanks to anyone reading, gl at the tables and hopefully I'll see you in 8 weeks.

Any tips on study. Like how was your studying structured. Did you just review your hands after sessions and look for your leaks. Im conscious that the leaks what i have i dont even know they are mistakes.

Yeah you are on the right lines. With hand reviewing unless you involve some data analysis or something you're often just going to say you played it fine because obvs during the hand you're going to make what you perceive as the best play. So you end up just reinforcing what you think is correct, which is so often wrong, I can't count the amount of times I've been extremely confident in a play only to look back on it a month later in disgust lol. I'd get talking to people about hands, because you'll get varied opinions which challenge your own thoughts. Ontop of that I'd just try expand your poker knowledge to discover new 'leaks', maybe through training sites or books idk.

Exams all finished, time to grind. Poker wise my plans are to firstly look over some stuff and gradually get back into the rhythm of things. Then I'm going to aim to study for hopefully 2 hours a day, and then grinding in the evening. My next studying area is going to either be SBvBB or 3BP SB v BTN/CO. I think SBvsBB is what I'm going to prioritise mainly because my strategy for it is so so wank atm lol, 3BPs are a little easier due to the SPR.

I'll probably take the day off today cos I'm shattered (7x3hr exams in 13 days ) and I have two 7aside matches Monday, so I'll use these days to chill and warm up a little. Hopefully will have an update in the next few days.

So does creating a 2p2 thread and getting abused my mirage count?

Just randomly opened this thread and lol. I never abused anyone in my life. It's all just constructive feed back. No idea who this dude is, most probably another mediocre reg on a heater. Might go over your hands later when I'm bored.
