Been so poor with volume recently. I think one of the problems I've been having is setting to high volume goal, then when I realise I am gonna fall short I have just given up. To try and remedy this I will go back to daily updates with at least 100g/day played unless otherwise stated (so no deciding half way through day to just give up). If I kept up a consistent 100g/day throughout the year, I would probably play twice as much with half the expended time, kinda depressing really

Also ran pretty hot so far this summer as well and I think this has also been pretty detrimental to volume. Mentally I was content with just shutting up shop and booking my win for summer before going back to Uni, despite how lacking in logic that though process is.

Have played so little this month, nonetheless, for the remainder my aim is 100g/day.

In the next week I will aim to finish half draft of my dissertation, back to uni in a week or so and kinda regret not starting it a bit earlier. Really need to work on just gradually getting things done, if I did just an hour/day on that, it probably would not have effected anything else in the slightest, and I would be done by now, instead I will probs end up putting in 40hr session the day before its due. Really gotta work on time management to balance poker and uni this year.

Also for remainder of the month I will put playing 200s on the back-burner. Will have a think about how I approach them next month and try to be more structured in my approach

I'm really curious on what your plan will be from this point. 200s you can probably still brute force your way, but I've talked to a few 300+ guys and the basic consensus is that no one is getting in. Just b/e will not be enough, they are perfectly happy to play 30k game spread out among all the members and lose the rake to you, because not having to give up a lobby spot is worth more than losing rake to you. And there's no weak regs to pick on, so to come into 300s+ and play 100% regs and beat those guys prerb, you have to be like the next mrgreen. Esp once you hit 500s and 1ks, just take a look at what happened to chadders, (who I think everyone would agree is a super strong player). How will you try to brute force your way into a group that it's almost impossible to brute force?

Well if I make 200s and move onto 3s I'd have to talk to people and give it a lot of thought. 1st thing would be to get sne, 2nd thing would be trying to play 12 hours a day. Hard to say how exactly it would be approached, will have to see what happens with other triers before that can be answered really. 500s is level higher and two people have managed to stop getting sat fairly recently, wouldn't be surprised to see vbv follow them as well if he persists.

I don't think the consensus is that nobody is getting in is the ubiquitous thought of all the group members though. Of course that is the appearance they want and hope to project. When you have players who have an extremely close insight into the 3s still deciding to try, I think it shows that isn't the uniform opinion. Not to say it isn't incredibly hard, but I wouldn't define it as locked down. Will also be interesting to see how someone like spirited does who seems to have crushed every level of regs ridic hard. I think once you get an idea of how a few more guys get in, it will be easier to comment then.

Number of characters goal probably counter-productive. Would end up putting longer words in rather than more content :P If you know you will struggle to be under the word count you won't put too many words in, but if you can finish quicker if you use longer words, you will almost definitely put longer words in lol

Not great day, don't think I played well, calling some turn spots where I should really just fold. Got molested pretty hard by some ultra aggro fish which always makes you feel like you played bad I guess lol. Also lost like $50 ev or so with pokerstars crashing. Went pc shop today to buy a new laptop (that I will only ever use for poker and then can just use other 2 for general stuff and not have to concern myself with getting viruses and stuff) but wasn't really sure what to look for, shoulda really looked up what specs man before I went lol. I knew I wanted i7 processor and 8GB+ of RAM, thought it would just be easy to go in, look at gaming laptops, get one with those specs and then all would be good, but not as simple as that way more things than i thought effect performance so gotta do more research then look where has a laptop that meets that requirement.
