I think you made the right decision to get in here. Just cause you lost the hand doesnt make it an incorrect play. GG. run better next time you get AK in this spot.

Thank you, but think about this:

if I fold, I still have a stack bigger than everyone else at the table, which leads me to playing virtually any two cards because of the huge bubble factor. I can bully everyone which gives me the dead money in a majority of the time.

If I call here and win, I can still bully everyone else, but I can't bully more people than before since I was chipleader at the table anyway. But if I lose, I am the one sitting with bigger stacks and huge bubble factors, basically not being able to play a hand w/o it being -EV of some sort.

The range my enemy has is rarely below 77/AJs+ so that long term, all I am doing is investing my chiplead for getting roughly 50% (60% with my range being a bit tighter) of the dead money. If I lose or win that hand, longterm there's no difference in Chip-EV. It's all the dead money that is interesting.

So for me it is way easier to steal with a succes chance of 50%+ as a bully than to kick it in the bucket for a chance of 60% the dead money one time.

callin AK might be Chip-EV and even $-EV but what it lacks is the $-EV and c-EV of the future game.

Sure you can say," hey it's AK. How often do you get AK? It's a slight monster!"
Yes it is. But someone in front of me who was also a big stack openshoving shows me, that my slightly-monster is just a standard hand in comparison to the shover's range. That's not better than calling an all in in blindbattle w A4o or something. Frigging variancy.

Thoughts like that pop up often and led me to win/chop the 5$ Hyper MTT on stars 5/6 times and getting deep often, because folding with 1:2 and a solid hand is sometimes the right decision, as wrong as it may look. Just fold your 88 and steal the next 4 hands, giving you the same money as if you'd win that flip..

Hyper Results (2 years, not played daily, I guess less than 500 games in total):
25$ - 1/581 for 2705$
5$ - 1/1845 for 1343$
5$ - 1/1532 for 1284$
5$ - 2/1724 for 1198$ (chop I guess)
5$ - 3/1911 for 860$
5$ - 3/1189 for 565$
5$ - 2/629 for 519$
5$ - 1/444 for 444$
5$ - 5/1641 for 390$
5$ - 5/1590 for 387$
5$ - 8/1947 for 146$

Yea. Didn't realize that 23bb was a big stack at this stage of your tournament. I dont play many hypers, this being the case your theory has its bearing.

Solid analysis, I think the important thing is the stack variability. If everyone is pretty even at the table than calling off AK is great.

But if everyone else is short -1 other guy, applying pressure to short stacks has so much more strength than flipping for your tournament life. Folding AK in a cash game is usually -EV but in MTT's certain circumstances such as this I do agree that it is the correct play, regardless of outcome and as tough as it may be.

it's Razz in the Game of the Week on FTP and I stumbled upon a slightly overlaid 11$ 500$ gtd which I won, so I used one of my two remaining 109$ Big GOTW Tickets to play the Razz 8k GTD. 18/60/104 right now - 2,9k for first.

Why the f can't I just take some time before I act??
    Stupid snapcall 8[
    http://www.boomplayer.com/poker-hand...820_4716C7B7F1

Mistake #1: not reraising vs an openlimp on that board
Mistake #2: snapcalling off instead of folding and still having huge fold equity vs all 4 stacks behind me.

    From #1 to #9. Sooo classy 8[

    I could cry.

In my brain it's like "I have two pair and a flushdraw"
while I should think "If I call and lose I have no FE anymore, If I fold I have"

The call on the turn was actually break even vs a straight, considering Chip-EV,
    but $-EV and future-game: horrible

If i give him this range: QQ+,55-22,A9s+,A5s-A2s,ATo+,A5o-A3o : which considers at lot of Ace pairs, Ace two pairs and straights, I still have 60% EQ on the Turn.

Just ugly and I should be cautious vs big stack and vice versa be cautious when someone with a slightly smaller stack gets aggressive all of a sudden (after limping pre)

    Great effin.

Played the 66$ 8k gtd on 888 (satellited in for 32$) but couldn't get farther than mincash because the btn shove of K6o destroyed my AK in the SB. Ouch. Top prize was 1,4k. Next time maybe...

Ok, so i finally went broke, but I didn't.

I managed to get some 1$ buy ins into 5$->30$ and one 160$ step, played the 15k gtd Crocodile on 888 but busted 30th w QQ pre w J7s because he got 1:2 odds in the BB as a bigstack 8[

    20th like 250$ and 1st was 6k$. sick run.

    My rolls were as followed:

    Yachting Poker: 16$
    FTP: 5.50$
    888: 0.12$
Stars: 7.xx$ + prolly 15-25$ in rb, based on how i run in the 70fpp to 3.30$ hyper sats.
    stars.fr: 0.04€

    but then got 3rd out of 1,2k in a 0.55$ or ~60$.

yes, I practice bankroll management instead of playing another 55$ on 888 :Y

so, next round, my brm says I can play "0.98" so if I am tight I let the 1$ 4k fields go. but they're so juicy ~~

need to win another mtt first, gimme a minute..
