I'm just going to give a simple/short answer to this...

For me, I think being good at discerning the difference between what a solid theoretical approach to a spot is and then what the optimal strat is in practice is massive. So many spots you should have X bluff range or call X combos to avoid being exploited, but the villain literally will never fold or never bluff himself in those spots. Knowing the theory is important so you can establish a baseline strat and know where/why you should be deviating from it. Ie exploiting guys. Hope that made sense, prolly poorly written/explained.

Soooooooo....month was pretty interesting haha. I played a ton while temp banned from 2p2 and caught up on my volume goal and was going to make it until i got an insane migraine Thursday and didn't play the last two days of month. So I need to pay out Wolly and Bannar(fml). You guys can pm me your skrill.

I had one of my biggest losing days ever this month as well, but bounced back strong and recouped it all the ensuing 3 days, which i was pretty proud of.

So it ended up looking like this...



nothing spectacular, but certainly not complaining.

after the big losing day, been reviewing with zaza daily and finding plenty of mistakes. Feels good to know there are so many spots I've identified where I can improve.


Life:

Went to a chance the rapper show, which was ****ing amazing.

Gym-wise we've been on the grind and am happy with progress. My back and core have made some strong progress this past month..




Flying to the beach on the 7th to see my bro and go to the Cali Roots show on the 9th, so excited. I'll also get in some hours in a big/ridiculous 5/10 private game he plays in out there.

Been dealing with a realtor trying to line up a place for the WSOP this summer, such a pain in the ass, but will be worth it if I can find us a sweet pad/good deal.

Excited to see the new Superman Batman film, didn't have high hopes but have heard it is super sick, so now I'm pumped up for it.

Ran so bad in great games yesterday zzzzz, played a 10 hour session and lost a bunch. Back at it today.

how do you stay focused in 10 hour sessions? I tend to start losing focus 3-4 hours in. Did you train in anyway mentally before you could continuously do this? or you're just used to it since the beginning of your poker life?

That was certainly an outlier in terms of session length. Games were just so good and of course i was stuck haha. As long as game quality offsets your sub-optimal level of focus during long sessions then it can still be +ev obv. I probably fall into the same 3-4 hour range you mentioned, when I'm fresh and really motivated/focused I can push it a couple hours more.

Nice, still in my downswong lately. Just came from a session lost 1.5bi feeling good and bad at the same time. Played a bit bad in the beginning+ got god moded. But played A game near the end. could've been a + session, been losing 3 days in a row feel like ****. down around 15bi for the month

sorry for the rant. sick grind brough, you motivate me to move forward. hopefully i'll be unstuck soon!

on a non poker note, I scored Sunday tickets to the MASTERS!!! As a golfer its a ****ing dream come true. I played since i was 3 and through high school, could have played at a small school in college but ended up choosing to try and walk on at a bigger school and just partied instead : /
