Re: Shine on you crazy diamond

it's just that ppl dont protect their range often enough by checking strong hands on the turn here, so in case that i wont have any hands stronger than 1p otr here i think we must check since bet folding almost errything would be reallly aweful. now i might be little bit off here but that's how im thinking..

Re: Shine on you crazy diamond

i was in my bed for 2 hours trying to get some sleep but my brain decided to react on being in horizontal position like it is taking amphetamines, so here I am, i rolled a small one and decided to put serious monthly recap here.

today i woke up earlier, didnt had a lot to do so i started playing @11am... in no time it was 9pm and i was still firing timbeys but had close to no clue what i was doing so i decided to stop registering. another + session:

lost HU to an really bad player, he was actually kind of guy that goes with it when he has it, but he had it every single time on the river,on 300 hands wtsd 70+ or smt. i was in 2-1 chiplead and he punted by 3b shoving 38bbs with A9o but made it trough my TT, and after that we stacked @ A73ss my A8o vs his AK and that was it, but overall im pretty happy with another day in the green.

Monthly recap ( October )

so at the start of the month i decided to put up more tables/longer sessions with smaller buyins ( my ABI was like 23$ ) and i sticked to it no matter what and i managed to make RECORD MONTH volume wise in 15-17 sessions played . since my avg this year was under 500/m that feels really great, and i think i can manage to keep pace like this pretty eazy in next couple of months.

think im playing pretty solid altough i was making some spazzzzs in the beggining due to more tables that i was accomodated to

winamax winrate being at 12evbb/100 and pokerstars at 7 which i think is pretty awesome on solid samplesizes and considering number of spilled tourneys on stars in the beggining of the month.

this kind of hc grind gave me much more selfconfidence and much more belief in my game. i think that theory-wise im not excelling it any part of my game but im pretty damn strong overall with many different stacksizes. few months ago my sessions was like i wasnt even registering tourneys with 1st prizes less than 1500$, which resulted in playing high variance big fields and in few 500bi+ downswings, and now im fighting for hotter 4.40 like it was sunday milli. i really like that i finally managed to find my somewhat forgotten killer instinct, and i know how it sounds but idgaf since im so pumped up for next(this) month pokerwise

i was also watching pekson playing z200 session live @stamparija and its not the first time, since we were roommates, but for the first time in my life i was able to completly understand everything that he was talking about the game, so that also boosted my morale

I have some plan in which I'll start going to the gym or something, but i ll first try to make 10 short trainings at my home because of the ego i-dont-wanna-embarrass-myself-first-day-@-the-gym thing which i dont think is true and that that is actually procstranator in me making ammends, but whatever, i ll crush him eventually.

November goals:

1. 800 mtts
2. 10k profits ( i feel it pretty strong but i wont sweat an eye if i dont make it )
3. 10 trainings
4. Less weed
5. 5 days totally off the PC with <3 bears

Last edited by nomalice; 10-31-2017 at 10:28 PM. Reason: a lot less weed

Re: Shine on you crazy diamond

last night i had a best session as i can remember, not so profitwise as i had few more profitable session this year, but i played really good all the way, had around 10 semiFTs and few FTs, closed one ( the smallest 1st prize obv )

in the same time i was playing ft on MS50, finished sixth for 500e, lost AQ vs KQ for 40bbs(2nd stack at the time)

played tie break ft also, finished 4th for 1k

had friday challenge on 888 with 3.8k up top, but this cancer hand happened 15 left for absolute chiplead, i worked out villain pretty good in previous orbits and i knew he ll do smt spewy vs my c4b but fuuuuuuuuuu :

Spoiler:

after that i just lost 6 flips in a row, fall to 0.8bb, came back to 13bb and finished A9o<A7o , 11th for whatever.

had bb16.5/33 and big33 in 40ppl , lost every hand with no hope for winning it, noctambule busted 3 tables left AA<88 so actually i see a TON of equity to cry about but it was +3.8k day and I-WILL-NOT-CRY on a +3.8k day.

sexy session graph
Spoiler:

i had numerous chances to clear makeup and altough im not in any kind of pressure about splitting or whatever it leaves me with a grain of salt when everything bricks out. but no crying today, cant wait for tmrw tho.

gl on sunday.

@abecede
that session was so sunrunny until semis(as graph shows) and i had really big expectations as there were 3 semis with 1st prize more than 4k, and on the semis all the cancer hands happened. makeup is 3.5k, it was 12k 10 days ago

You are on a good way to get there then. I see, you are on of those people for whome anything but 1st place is disappointment. I am the same. I could be 3rd in Sunday Milli and be disappointed with the result for a day and a half.

i guess i wouldnt mind a 3rd in sunday milli actually
but u re right for the most part.

i just now realised how i managed to get into that kind of makeup twice this year. on abi 20. it's most due to bad tournament selection and little bit of a bad mindset but it was bad only in a way that i didnt had desire to play tourneys in which 1st place ''doesnt work me''. i mean i worked the hell off the tables all the time, but i was skipping low field low guarantee session savers because of lack of excitment in them. in last couple of months(lets say october 1st and few days before i had revelation + talked with couple successful serbian poker players about these topics more thorough ) i've figuered out that every tourney counts. i mean, i think i still run pretty bad in deepruns for most part, but now im playing 70+ in a session and oh boy softwares gotta give me at least 500 bucks per a session / i cant remember session where i bricked every single tourney as it was happening a lot before this mindset turnaround

i live in a small country where avg salary is 300 euros ( president will say 450 obv ) and from looking from that perspective poker is a great opportunity. there arent many things that can pay this well here ( live like a boss and be a mediocre skill player altough i fancy my skillz to be a little bit higher atm ) lots of people that i know are degenerate gamblers / drug addicts / dont (wanna) work, and if (when :P ) i lose focus it is pretty easy to get back in cycle of those things since im surrounded by scumminess and bad habbits and what not. from one point of the view, i live in country where i make few times ((or) more) avg salary and that point of view is great. on the other hand in those circumstanes is pretty hard to be respected for what I do for living since it looks like poker is some kind of a shortcut (and my ppl love taking shortcuts ) altough in todays poker world there are no shortcuts. for most of ppl that i know im the guy that sits at home clicking buttons and making 1k+ a month which is bizzare. so they respect my 'shortcut-taking-skillz' for the matter of speak, but cant even fathom how much work it takes.

so basicly i made a decision to make A ****LOAD OF MONEEEZZZZZZ. revelation happened when i finished my session and played 3 dotas until 7am. at that point i was disgusted at myself since i was in 12k makeup and i was playing dota ( so i was not exhausted enough from session ) while i could register nightly session which is way softer. i was disgusted, as at this point, it was obvious to me that i wasnt TRYING to do my best. im pragmatic person and im so NOT result orriented in any aspect of life and that makes my poker mindset pretty good, but there should not be lack of trying ever. lack of trying is a disgrace. im fine with failing as long as im trying my best. if i try my best and fail i ll come back and get it eventually. but backing down from a fight aint an option.

------------

played couple of sessions, nothing great happened.
again had ton of semis and runned ****ty in them, but im fine with that as i see that what im doing is good and that money will come eventually. i really play that i crush deepruns at 50$> buyin. im carefully choosing spots to steal/resteal/exploit weaker opponents and know what edges i gotta take and what edges i can pass in what fields ( i wont take +0.7bb call for 20bbs on semi ft of a 10e tourney since i can get that ev lot safer by stealing/restealing wide enough/pressuring weaker guys in postflop ).

also FTed 16.5$ pko deep yesterday an runned pretty bad for the most time. 2 hands that explains everything, both vs big whale

https://www.boomplayer.com/25855898_6CEB16EFA4
this one was pretty ez call otr due to timing tell. he basicly snapshoved and i had hard time thinking that anyone would ever snapshove 9x there (which will be main part of his turn lead value range ) + i block the nuts.

couple hands later vs same whale. fml
https://www.boomplayer.com/25855966_66A75BB5FC

and i made one herofold which fked up whole tourney, due to guy been playing 7 5 on 600 hands according to my hm2. notes to myself a)DONT MAKE HEROFOLDS IN TIMBEYS THAT U PLAY REGULARY. b)DONT LOOK AT THE HUD AND USE YOUR COMMONS SENSE. i made new smaller hud 20 days ago since hud is pretty much misleading in tourneys due to different stacksizes and whatnot and it was misleading again.
https://www.boomplayer.com/25856390_A943DB1A63

MTD i played 361 tourney so im again better than expected pace. im feeling good. i ll keep tryharding this **** until i make it. gl and cheers

Re: Shine on you crazy diamond

my irresponsiblity made my last couple of days/sessions pretty misserable. i woke up on friday with small toothache. normal person would immediatly call dentist and fix it, but not me.

i dont have fear of dentists or whatever, it's just im lazy af. so i took some painkillers, did few coaching sessions and went to fire up a session. obv toothache came back and saw it's pretty hard to play 15 tables with right side of your chaw wanting to explode... had few deepruns, made big mistakes in them, ate more painkillers and went to sleep.

next day, normal person would go to a dentist, but not me. i ate more painkillers, was thinking about going to a ER since painkillers werent helping a lot but i was scared of so called 'butcher-dentists' in ER and decided to wait a monday since it was weekend and private dentists arent working.

then sunday came. obv, i ate more painkillers and fired up a session. normal person would at least lower their buyin/not play 16+ tables when not focused due to toothache but not me. i was punting a lot while running pretty hot first sunday in a while, and i kept firing timbeys tilted since i was unable to play my A game while running pretty good and with so much accumulated tilt and pain it was really aweful expirence. i managed to go deep in 16.5 pko and pretty much punt 2/20 stack (110bbs in soft field). i made solid stack in some 2 day wmx timbey

then monday came. i woke up at 4pm and it was too late to arrange a dentist appointment/i thought so. i ate more painkillers and fired up a session. normal person would ... [ read paragraph above ] but not me. i was also running good and managed to finish session at 11pm. only tournament in which ive played A game was that 2nd day on wmx but couldnt win TT vs 77 vs A9 for heaaaps 100 players left on pretty soft field.

3 sessions of painkilling poker :
Spoiler:

today at last i went to a dentist that my gf arranged for me and dentist is a girl(woman) that i played live poker with back when i was in high school. i remember that i was really taking heaps of money vs her, more because of the sunrun than skill advantage but whatever... when she saw me she was all like ''oh i've waited for this moment of torture for ages''. i love those blasts from the past...

anyway, tooth is really f-ed up, and since there is a big swell i have to take antibiotics for a week and then come back to fix it. she also told me that if i went to the ER they would just take the tooth out so im glad that i didnt went but im unglad that i played poker :/

i was playing madman volume in the past 1.5 months and didnt even realise how tired and exhausted i am of it until this weekend, so i ll take few days off until i fix these dental issues. i plan to play live tourney in belgrade at the end of the month since yearly there are 2-3 tourneys in serbia worth playing ( not so +EV since most of the regs come to play but it's only chance for us to messure our dicks in live environment ) and last one of this year is comming up.

i also figuered out that playing 12h+ sessions everyday constantly is really exhausting for brain/body, so i ll tryhard to make better schedule ( like play hard 20 days and then relax 10 or smt like that ) and start going to gym from december 1st. i made goals for this month of 10 trainings and i managed to do 1.

anyway, thats it for this update, see ya in couple of days.

I see in your country its the same with doctors like in Czech. If you want to be treated by someone who barely finished med school, go to ER The amount of painkillers is insane dude. Get better soon

im not the guy that likes to whine about bad run and variance but this is becomming so ****ty that im thinking to quit playing mtts after i get some money of it and translate to some other format. what i dont like about quitting mtts is that i feel like they are oweing me so much freakin dollaz that qutting annoys me even more, altough that's not correct way of thinking about it obv. i think my theoretical understanding of the game and approach to it in total is on pretty high level considering the population of the players on the same buyin levels as i am in any format actually ( ty MTTs for working on every area of my game pretty hard, ie ANY STACKSIZE.

i think if i've played CG/sngs i would make much more money than in freakin mtts but cant quit now obv ). looking @database of this year it's pretty cool ,having wr 10bb/100 and solid winrates on any stacksize/any site and what not and still my yearly profits are equal to one 22k bink in january. my lategame redline is sky up whole year but sure let the sunrun hit that 5e timbey with 300e 1st place every single session, dont sunrun on any donkament EVER. that sheeeeit can eat a brain.

i really love when ppl sunrun and make heaps of money in mtts and errything and im really not jealous type of person but man sometimes it's really frustrating. keep looking at ppl getting huge hands deep in tourneys, like they get aces villains get kings and they get it in and hold for 16136124155bbs on semift, while i have to navigate my 12-23 bb stack and care about gazzilion little things. i open light i get 3bet . i get aces i get walk on BB and SB is RFIing 70%+ and having 50bb+ stack. ppl make outrageous plays deep and suddenly become Noahs and get on that sunrun Arks and win those spots.

dont get me wrong, im not jealous, i dont hate u sunrunners, i would like for everyone to sunrun and make money of this. im shocked and happy about ppl not having a clue how cruel variance @mtts can be since they just always get there. im really honnestly happy when i rail someone i like and he make money anyhow, but i would like to get a taste of it myself anytime soon.

im sorry about this kind of post but i had to let the faucet loose a lil bit, too much steaming going trough my head atm. i ll keep being nonresult orriented and grind the sheeeit of this hoe and hopefully it will work out. cheers and gl

      Stay strong mate.
I could never put up with what some of you MTT guys do - thats why I play em only sporadically.
It is the cruelest format and i wonder if the rewards are enought to make it worthwhile given how much it drains the avg reg.
When u sunrun its the nuts but the entire hype is kind of fake.
Its certainly good to have another game on the side just to get the taste of winning more often then u do with tournaments.

      Fingers crossed.
