Hello 2p2,

I had an old PGC that I stopped updating out of nowhere. Let's see if this one goes better.

Background:

I started playing 2nl 4 years ago and worked my way up to mostly playing 500z for the last couple of weeks (I jump back and forth from 200z to 500z). I also had a ~ 1.5 year stint as a Run It Once Essential coach. I decided not to renew my contract earlier this year and have worked rigorously on my game throughout the summer.

Although I've always been a winning player, I almost quit poker entirely around April. My results have improved tremendously since deciding to recommit in June.

Results since June 1st (100-500z):

6.52 All-In Adj BB/100

Today's my first day back to school since the end of the spring semester. I figured that this may help in trying to maintain decent volume (by my low standards) as my schedule becomes more busy.

My goals initially at the beginning summer were to be up to 200z exclusively and to be ready to shot-take 500z by the beginning of next summer. Fortunately, I've been able to exceed those expectations. My only set goal for the time being is to play a minimum of 50k hands/month (regardless of stakes). I like the idea of shot-taking 1knl next year, but zoom doesn't seem to run and I'm apathetic towards regular tables.

I'm going to try to check results only once every few days. Thus, while I may post hands regularly, graphs will be rare. I think this will help me ignore short-term variance while maintaining focus on playing.

I might play more today, but it's been pretty rough thus far.

Sizing pre is a bit sloppy.

Grinding has been frustrating lately. I've been playing mostly 200 (I like to move down quickly during downswings) but running horrendously whenever I play 500. After being up a few BI at 200 earlier today, I decided to jump into 500 because the pool looked good. Within 15 mins I lost enough to put me in the red for the day.

The dollar difference is one of the toughest things about moving between stakes imo. Although I feel fine with the swings at 500, it does make it difficult to play 200 when the dollar amount feels so small in comparison. I'm aware that it shouldn't matter and that I should just always try to make the most +EV decisions. While I do find these things annoying, I can say confidently that it doesn't affect my play.

I had this issue when trying to advance to 200z. Just feels like a mental barrier that you have got to keep contesting until it eventually breaks.

I've got to admit, it feels good to not be contractually obligated to answer this :P.

Didn't get a huge amount of volume today as I was busy with school. However, the bit that I did play seemed to go well. At one point I had this stack at 200z.

          Hands:

Kind of a tough spot OTR.

Hey shiffty I really enjoyed your RIO videos when u were a coach there! I also might have annoyed you a bit always asking if you're recording...anyway would u mind if u can go through your daily routine? Especially when you were 'vigorously' working on your game?

Anyway c u at the tables and good luck! Subbed!
Thanks! And although I usually don't answer, it's certainly more flattering than annoying.

A lot of my improvement can be credited to working with players better than me and learning how to use PIO more effectively (which also was a consequence of working with said players). I'm reluctant to go into further detail.

Hoping to still get in some more hands later today, but I did have a couple of fun hands already.

I previously had this guy marked as a reg.
