Thankyou for the link. Even when my sleeping schedule is good, if I somehow manage to fall asleep with the lamp on then I feel groggy as **** the next day even if I sleep for 7hrs or a decent amount.

Went back to the 2-tabling grind today and it went fine for the most part. Maybe I went a bit spewy in some spots, and made a somewhat wild misplay in another, but overall feel like I played decent. Felt I ran poor in cbets and barrels but good in AIEV so I'll take that. Nice to bink one when crushed though and get some EV back!

The games were awesome tonight, as they tend to be late on Fridays. Had built both stacks to 200+bb so would've liked to grind for longer, but really need to decompress and try to get to bed at a decent time tonight.

One more thing of note is that, after consulting with a fairly well known mid-stakes PGC reg, I've abandoned the min-raising strat I was using. As the games are so highly raked we don't want to be encouraging calls, and obviously when we get flatted by fish with a range that's dominated by ours, we want there to be more money in the pot early on.

-----

H1 - The poor hand in question. Tight-seeming reg. Think flop CRAI is quite wild and would be a lot less so with a out there. On river I'm v-betting vs overpairs to the flop. I only expect AKss and AQss to be in their range that outkicks us, and never expect those to raise river. I also discount sets (77 possible but believed they'd bet turn) and didn't expect them to have 2pr or a boat with A3s as I felt those would probably bet turn, and other than A3s I don't expect the 2prs to raise river as I could be sneaking turn with a set.

Well played to the reg? They def owned me although I'm still not sure if their raise is good or not. Suppose they can put me on AKss-ATss and don't expect me to check my sets in which case they really annihilated me here.

H1. Typical garbage reg line, you won't get anywhere playing like that. Just fold flop, his turn X was horrific also. I might check in again but doubt your worth my time.

I’m super unsure about their turn check myself although I realise now that my range on turn looks like AKss-ATss exactly as with stuff like KQss I’m always barrelling one of the best turns for me to bluff. So I now realise why they were able to own me on river.
            09-08-2018 , 05:34 AM
At these stakes you should also have basically a default fold to river raise without anything close to the nuts, without even thinking about it, super plus ev imo. the sad nits will not exploit you. the garbage regs are the ones sitting there leveling themselves into bad calls and spewing valuable bb's all day.

Tough grind today but I honestly feel like I played pretty bloody well. Things just didn't go my way. Hit volume goal although that was only because there were some fun-players in the pool. Was planning on finishing earlier but ended up staying to try to get at the dead-money.

There was basically only one hand that could be considered a big spew although I fortunately got it in with not terrible equity.

H6 - This one sucked. Fish on the BTN but it's not a fispump 5b-pile by any means. Their 4b was literally the quickest I've ever seen, so fast in fact that I actually factored in it might've been a misclick. Don't think I can fold though, there's just too much overplay and random-tilt in there to consider passing.

H10 - Almost a dream spot vs the fun-player I stayed grinding for. This player was 2x-3betting all sorts of trash from all sorts of positions and then flatting vs big 4bs. Decided go for big-value on turn thinking no Ax would fold and that most draws would call, even GSSDs, but given stack depths and the fact this player was so special maybe I should opt for a CRAI or even a c/c instead? Having Ah isn't hugely relevant because I think they can have a ****-tonne of FD combos, including a lot of diamond FDs.

H11 - Worst hand late on. To be fair I was tired towards end, only carried on playing for the fun-players. Lucky to get it in with 37% because this reg might have AA and then we're drawing super-thin. This is a much better play with 66, although still optimistic to hope a clearly weak reg can fold. Their 3b size pre is so bad.

Really want to get on it and try to cement at the limit. Will just have a few clicks tomorrow and mostly chill / put plans in place for the new week.

Yo, ended up not grinding yesterday and not updating. Cba reviewing the goals from last week, there were no volume goals anyway just updating goals and I failed those.

Graph for Mon 3/9/18 to Sat 8/9/18

Volume is low as I was mostly 1-tabling and only played for 16hrs 10mins in total. Managed to get up to 2-tables for the 2nd half of the week so I'm glad to have done that. Definitely feel confident that I'm beating the level even though I recognise I have a hell of a lot of work to do.

                                  -----

The plan for the rest of the month is to put a lot of grinding hours in to try to cement at the limit. I also want to be comfortable 3-tabling by the end of the month so will possibly start mixing in some 3-table grinds towards the end of this week, and if not this week then next week at the latest hopefully.

I've just made a 10BI deposit so I've got over 40 for the level. Will do things slightly differently and set myself long-term goals over a shorter-term than a week. Reasoning for this is because I find not checking results really useful, but as my roll is precarious I need to keep eye on it as dropping down is still a very real possibility if I hit a downer.

I'm also not going to be making big OCD updates every single day. Will just put my daily poker goals in my life-goals diary, although I'll still drop by and post saved hands at the end of each day so stay tuned for those.

This is a super important moment in this journey. Whilst it wouldn't be the end of the world, being forced to move down would ****ing suck so let's hope it don't come to that.

                                  Vamoooooo!

Solid grind today. Played for 4hrs 12mins and feel like I played pretty good. Fairly sure I made a few bucks although took a couple of brutal beats including AA<AKo AIPF vs a reg. Generally though the games were great, let's hope they remain that way for the rest of WCOOP and beyond.

Starting to feel extremely comfortable at the level. I might not be the best reg or anything daft like that but I definitely belong where I am and that's a cool feeling, and worlds away from playing like a monkey + running aidz @ 10NLz and having a very real fear the games had passed me by.

H1 - Some weirdo reg just randomly opening >12x. It confused me a lot. Discussed this with my discord group and one of the more experienced regs in there says that, on the few occasions they see a reg do this, it's always with a super-strong hand. Still though, after the chat I can't wait to slowroll this muppet in the future. Also would've been nice to have AK here and at least not get it in with terrible equity whilst learning what a spazz this gimp is.

H9 - Nitty opening reg that almost never folds to 3bs (a few 4bs but lots of flats) which I suppose makes my 3b very questionable. Looking at this now I think they can have a good amount of Ax so it's probably spewy, but at same time we unblock s and I'd like to think they'd have an aidz decision with all their PP unless they have flatted KK or QQ somehow, and even then it's tough.

Going to be aiming for 5+hrs tomorrow. Will also be grinding a $16.50 6max powerfest regspeed as I got a free tkt from the awesome click & collect promotions PP are constantly running. Hopefully it'll be a sick day.

Yo. Just finished a relatively tough day of grinding. Played for 6hrs 46mins in total, although about half that time I was 1-tabling zoom alongside a $16.50 powerfest 6max. Bricked it not that far from the bubble in a standard, unavoidable spot.

Ran fairly mediocre @ cash and have no idea how much I made or lost, but suspect it was somewhere around b/e. I'm actually really curious to know but won't until Thursday. Played solid enough but just struggled to get much going in general. Think my WWSF was a long way below 40.

Think we need to just go 25% flop but not sure I can call one here and hope they shut-down with any bluffs, although maybe with the Qc I can as it blocks some of their FD's that could feasibly bet/jam?

I've got about 9hrs grind over the next two days to hit the volume goal and I'd like to play at least 6hrs tomorrow to give myself a more chilled Thursday. Want to rest up and be fresh for a big weekend.

Also ran fairly poorly in a lot of small-medium sized pots. Actually got extremely angry at one hand I played poorly / ran poorly in, but sensibly satout next bb on all tables and went and did the dishes and meditated to cool down.

No idea what I won or lost, felt like I lost heaps but thinking about it I barely got stacked and won a few stacks so might've booked a sneaky win, or at least a bearable loss. We'll find out tomorrow.

Played for 6hrs 12mins in total which I'm pleased about because I've got <3hrs grind to hit the volume goal and I want to relax a bit at some point tomorrow.

We can't call river I don't think, if they're somehow bluffing here then it's pretty sick, but not impossible given runout that they put me on a PP JJ or < and decide go for it. More likely they 3b KQo though and flopped the world given my day.

H4. I wouldn't even 4bet that, almost 200bb deep oop. XJ on turn would be overplay.

H7, how the hell can you x top 2 vs a fish in srp? don't you understand the concept of build a pot? you got lucky on the river.

h7 please never x back flop vs fish, overbet OTR is an overplay, can't believe he called there, you will isolate yourself vs bigger 2p a lot with that sizing.

Seeing as two people who mostly disagree have said this is terrible, I'll try not to do this **** again for sure.

h8: x/r turn, as played x river, x/c then donking is the worst line possible, if you are trapping turn, continue your trap otr.

Agree it's not a good hand by me at all.

h9: 4-bet pre, as played, it's a very easy river call, if you called this pre, it's because you will get value off his uffs in spots like this, perfect board, you block KQ ans he could be valuebetting JJ. it sucks that you block the fd but gotta call.

A smaller sizing and I was calling with the reasoning that JJ could play this way for value. The sizing and the fact that I can very easily have Qs and yet they're still betting is the reason I folded. The opponent was aggressive but a reg and most likely a winning reg.

Cheers Rapi, and tyvm for the feedback guys, a large part of reasoning for creating and investing so much time into this thread is to get thoughts from different players to help me tune-up my own game, so I really do appreciate it a lot.

H1: Think flop and turn are going to be fine. OTR we are way too high in our range to be bluffing. Villain has more 5x than us I think (not sure though) which probably confines us to block betting rvr or potentially bluff catching. Rvr is check-"do something" or block bet "do something" for me.

H2:Erm, folding might be best but I am not too sure. Folding probably best for mental health is it seems BTN quite likes his hand.

H3: We have top of range so want to be putting money it. So for me, we want to be either check raising flop and going from there or barrelling HARD (for large sizings (at least turn+rvr)).

H4: Oof, 4bt pots are not my speciality. I think a default here would be just barrel off?

                                                                  H5. WP!

H6. There is a chance we should be raising this rvr as we only lose to a few sets. Seems you bet rather large OTF though. While this is fine, its worth baring in mind why we bet large here. (it should massively strengthen BB check raise range too and potentially prevent one on this flop)

Just seen we also lose to 45cc and 45ss but im not too bothered about two measly combos THAT IS OUR BOARD.

H7. id suggest, betting flop (any size) and tripping off on this runount.

As played I'm not sure about raising turn, it is almost certainly OK, (I guess we can raise hands like 23s if we want so I guess raising 86 is ok?!)

I don't even mind rvr, we have 2 pr which tends to be the nuts BVB so yeh

Keep up the hard work mate!!vamooooo

A good way to think is that GTO poker is often aggressive with the strong hands with rare traps, as an example, in that hand one of the few hands I see as gto checks OTT are 9x9d and AdAh, but even with those you should just valuebet, the reason for trapping those hands is because they prevent villain from overbetting JcTc and jamming river for value with enough bluffs in his range. Which basically nobody will do. Those hands gain EV by protecting our range vs very good opponents that will realize that if we always bet our good stuff ott, our checking range will be capped to midpairs/weak Jx.

AdAh and 9d9x are probably the best candidates for slowplays because they block villain's calling range(and Ah unblocks his floats). 22 is always an overbet in there because it doesn't ock villains calling range. You could go smaller with 75%-100% OTT with it if you think villain will be pretty elastic on his calls when facing big sizings.

But as I said, it doesn't make sense to trap turn if villains won't exploit properly a weak x range, even less sense vs people that love to be a station and have 0 clue about the game.

my bad, now that I read what I've wrote I see it doesn't make much sense. Both hands have incentive to trap because of their blockers, JJ has even more because it blocks more Jx combos than AdAh, but both would make for good traps vs a good opponent, like having AdAh, KhKh, 9x9d, JcJs.

I'm not sure if AhAd make more sense to trap than AcAs, because AcAs blocks his AJss and AJcc which are floats that now made TP and AhAd unblocks villains 2 combos of AJss and AJcc.

So yeah, it makes more sense to trap AcAs, KcKs, 9x9d and JcJs. But as I said, havent found out a lot of opponents that are worth trapping in there.
