HELLLLLOOOO WORLD, So I have been fairly mad at the way i have been playing 2/5 lately and I think if i forced myself to post my results i would play better. So for the next month and a half I will post my results.

I wanted to make some fun goals along the way and you may think there lame but THERE NOT LAME TO ME !

At $10,000 We are getting a haircut, I am in desperate need of a hair cut so im hoping i crush this goal.

At $20,000 I'm going to take my brother out to a dinner I dont see him enough and that's something i think i would strive for.

At $30,000 I'm going shopping I could use some more clothes

At $40,000
I'm going to buy a new cell phone

At $50,000 If i can get to 50k before June 29th I will go play the main. I usually go out to vegas to hang out with friends but i am not a tournament player i wont pretend to be one. # unrealistic goals.

I'm hoping this will incentivize me to not only play better but also play more.If it doesn't then I will probably stop posting.

Also because out goal isn't hard enough I thought I would include the session that made me want to starts posting.

So like all good poker players after having a bad session i went home, showered, ate and went back to play some more poker.

Playing 2/5 $1000 buy in

Hand 1

Villain 1 in this hand knows were a pro, Is slightly to sticky and doesn't bluff us enough.

Villain 1 opens UTG +1 $20

Hero Middle Position 73 - For the record you will probably see a lot of "questionable" plays from me. Start getting use to it now. Lets be honest were not going to get to 50k if we don't start opening up are range.

eveyrone else folds let see a flop.

Flop J64 Pot (47)

Villain leads 30

Hero Raises 90 - Aside form the obvious equity, I don't think the villain will continue lightly once we raise.

villain calls.

Turn J645 Pot(227)

Villain Checks

Hero Bets 175 - I actually think I should size this up even more knowing the villain will call us light.

Villain calls

RiverJ6455 Pot (577)

Villain Checks

Hero Jams for villain last 300sih or so?

Villain exclaims "guess we had to getr into a hand sooner or later" and calls

Hero tables villain folds.

Hand 2

villain 1 is same as in last hand.
villain 2 we have no info on.

Villain 1 opens $20 in middle position
Villain 2 calls in CO
Hero Button Makes it 100 AK

both villains call

Flop QQJ Pot (307)

We all check quickly

Turn
QQJ10 Pot (307)

Villain 1 Checks
Villain 2 Bets 225 (with 350 behind)
Hero Flats - willing to listen to jam vs flat arguements
villain 1 folds

River
QQJ104 Pot (757)

Villain bets 325

Hero calls

Villain tables AK

Chop it up

Hand 3

This one is interesting so i want to say I open with the intention of taking it down literally the entire table doesn't look interested in there hands.

2 Limps

Hero in Middle position Open 30 K6

Villain 3 (450ish?) (Is on the phone, and i would consider a tight player) calls in Middle +1

Everyone else folds

Flop 854 Pot (77)

I think villain has mostly Broadway cards since he is on the phone.

Hero Leads 35

Villain Raises 80

Hero reluctantly calls.

Turn
8543 (223)

Hero Checks

villain Bets 90

Hero Calls

River 8543 Pot (403) I honestly don't remember the river I just remember giving up

Hero Checks

Villain Checks

Villain Tables JJ

Anyway We won 982 so we are getting closer to 0

You’re keeping yourself from getting a haircut or taking your brother out to dinner until you win that much money? Sounds like you’re too hard with yourself. Haircuts are like 20 bucks....

In, gl!

Reminds me a bit of ValentjNN challenge, anyone knows why he deleted his social media? Yet, if you can walk the walk, it's kewl and it's a very juicy profit within the time span! You can't make enough within the time span in 2/5 tho' :(, what's your strategy for moving up / shot taking / gambling it in higher stakes cash game for 2x-3x up?

So to clarify I will being playing some 5-5, 5-10 or whatever is my fancy. I'm actually making this thread so that I play better at 2/5 in particular because I gamble more there and take more "Experimental" lines when playing lower. Basically I'm trying to limit my spew at 2/5.

Anyway today was awesome. I got invited to a 5/10 25 button straddle private game. A lot of people are out of town for mothers day so i get to play yay!

Hand 1

Hero (3000) is button with JJ

Villain 1 (2000) in small blind flats

Villain 2 (1300) in big blind flats

Villain 3 (3000) UTG makes it 125

Hero Flats

Villain 1 raises 575

Folds to me I jam and he snaps JJ vs AK

we run 2 boards and hold twice.

Hand 2

Hero(4500) in Small blind Calls 25 with KJ

Big blind folds

Villain 2 (1400) - Makes it 75

Button (1100) calls

Hero calls

Flop JJ6 (235)

Check/Check/Check

Turn JJ68 ( 235)

Hero leads 125

Villain 2 makes it 300

Button folds

Hero jams, villain calls

Asks if we can run it twice I say sure. I table my hand Brick Brick both boards he says im good.

I ran it up pretty well and gave some back gambling a little bit. I think I could have been slightly more cutthroat. Anyway Book the win.

Don't worry after this game I immediately went to a casino to play some 2/5.

So 2/5 was a lot more interesting, tell me what you think of this villain he is limping about 15% of hands and has folded after limping to any bets preflop or post flop. Then with about 10% of hands he has opened and taken down the pot with a check raise or lead out on the flop.

Guess his range for this hand. We have been playing 30% of hands and I'm sure he has some image of us.

4 limps to hero on button

Hero makes it 35

folds to villain who was the last limper in the HJ

Villain makes it 175 . . . . . .

I had nothing this hand and just mucked ,but I have no idea what hands I even call or raise we were both sitting on 1000$.

And Now for a Sad story

these 3 hands all involve the same villain and all happen with in 1 dealer (30 minutes)

Hero open UTG +1 (700) with 77

Villain 1 on button calls (500ish) calls

big blind and small blind come along

Flop643 (60)

Check to Hero who makes it 50

Villain raises 100

Folds to hero who calls

Turn6433 (260)

Hero Checks

Villain Jams 400ish?

Hero debates and calls I spike a 7 Villain shows KK The entire table looks at me like i committed murder.

Hand 2

Villain reloads 1000 is angry

Hero Limp UTg + 1 A6

1 more limp

villain makes it 30 in CO

Blinds fold Limpers call

Flop AA7 (97)

Checks to villain who bets 80

Hero calls other villain folds

TurnAA76 (257)

Hero Checks

villain bets 200

Hero jams Villain calls Shows AQ Table again give me more looks

Hand 3

this is the literal next hand villain rebuys 200

Hero UTG QQ

bets 20

Villain is only caller heads up

Flop
K62 (47)

Hero leads 50

Villain Jams, Hero calls Turn Q River Brick Villain is out of building.

Saturday is my worst day to play this year. I think I have a bad habit of always looking for a better casino or a better table to play at. I'm going to try and focus on where i am at and playing, instead of trying to to figure out what table I want to get too.

Today and yesterday I put myself in the same situation and failed both times. Both hands were super generic 4 ways 2/5 hands. The Flop is super wet One board was 46Q The other board is 10JQ Both hands I get checked to in position with air. I lead for pot in the diamond hand I was last to call and in the broadway hand I was preflop opener. I only get 1 caller in both hands and in both hands they are effective face up nitty players. The turns made both boards worse and both times I was checked to 46Q2 and 10JQK I again lead 3/4 pot in both hands and both players reluctantly call and I just gave up on brick rivers after I was checked too. I just didn't have it in me to fire the third barrel which would have taken it down.

The 46Q2 River A Check Check opponent shows 44

The 10JQK River 4 Check/Check Opponent shows KJ

I was happy I was going for this spot cause I normally ignore it and just full dodge ,but I need to send that third barrel in.

Anyway I tried really hard to lose today was in for 1600 but made a massive comeback.

Tonight should have been a solid win but I played poorly =( but, let’s learn from our mistakes. So tonight’s lesson is get more reads and make less assumptions. There were multiple times early in the night where I made light calls when they should have been easy folds. And then there was this hand.

Hero early position 88 1400$

Villain 1 250$ - makes it 25 he’s tight

Small blind and big blind call

Flop Q45

Checks all around

At this point I know the button has given up and the pot is up for sale.

Turn 7

Big blind bets 50 - he is sitting on 1200 and is a player who I labeled as loose but I didn’t realize how tight he actually is and even though we have seen him make plays in he past he is often willing to let his hands go too easily.

Hero raises 150

Folds back to big blind who makes it 700

I fold

This is where the second lesson comes in I realized how I should’ve been playing against him in the moment I did not consider my table image which was very aggressive towards him. He says “you’ve been gunning for me I needed to beat you” he shows 53

So My table was unreasonably tight, actually scratch that , My table was loose preflop ,but they don't stack off lightly post flop. So while they will pay me preflop if i charge them, I am not guaranteed to get max value if I hit a set.

So I elected to limp, and let them declare the strength of there hands. expecting for easier navigation post flop.

Today I ran Like god at 5/10

+3314

No spectacular plays just flopping hands and getting paid.

Instead I want to talk about something that pissed me off last night. We had a straddle going UTG at 2/5. This player from another table asks to come to our table because he sees how much action is going on at our table. Then gets to our table and says "I'm not straddling" needless to say other players decide "fine, I'm not straddling if hes not", and the action dies.

Lets use our imagination real quick, If I asked you what does a terrible poker table look like. Don't think of particular player pretend you are at a new casino , you walk by the table and go wow that's the worst table ever. You have never seen these players. What are they wearing. What are they doing. ETc.

Now imagine your in a new casino you walk by a table and think wow that looks like the best table ever. What are the players doing. Wearing. Thinking.
What makes it good?

Bad tables might include, Hoodies, headphones, backpacks, Ipads, Heads down 3 bet pots and Silence.

Good tables Might include Drinks, talking, limping, straddling, and commotion.

Now Im not saying you cant bring your headphones to the casino nor am i saying you have to drink every time you go play. But, You need to understand your actions at the table effect the way others play.

Im sure there's a ton of typos in there but I'm not fixing them . I may try and play tonight will see.

Def a very loose 3!, targeting an UTG open. You said it was a tough line up/game. In a tough line up, shouldn't we be tightening our 3! range, especially vs an UTG open? This is a very exploitable raise (right?), you are targeting villian specifically?

What held you back from emptying the clip on the river? You almost want villian having YOUR hand.
