Hi everyone. I am starting this blog today, on my 35 birthday, to share my experiences and to support myself on the way. English is not my native language so my writing could be bad, if you feel like correcting me it would be appreciated.

TL;DR: Argentinian guy tries to aim a lot of objetives in a year. On poker, will move from NL50 to NL200/mid500. Also play some Mtts. Text will be realy long. This post will be focused on poker, but I also want to talk about life/psychology and experiences.

Background and poker history:

I started playing poker arround january/16. I had an accident and wasn't able to work for like 2 months, so I don't realy remember the motivation but I just learn the rules and started playing on a local website. The first time I heard something about online poker was on 2004, but I decided to play MU online instead. Then I forgot. I wish there was a time machine. I have a background on gambling games, but I don't like gambling, I always loved to try to crack the games. Lotery, roulette, sport bets, etc. I failed in all of them lol. Then, when I started learning poker I got noticed about the possibility of being able to realy win against other people on an strategy game. I wish there was a time machine again.

So, when I started my strategy was to wait for suitted cards and catch FDs on cash, then studied some and moved to Mtts. At those times I worked as an employee on a coffee factory and also had my own buisness, a pizza factory. My time was so thin. But poker got me so much, I slept like 3/4 hours a day for like a year and a half. I don't realy understand how did I survived on good shape.

On april 2017 I decide to quit my employee job, to focus 100% on my factory (but to be honest, my heart was on poker). So I invested all my money on the factory, bought machines and stuff. My ex GF was my partner on the factory, and the car owner. Then arround june 17 we wroke up and I find myself with a lot of producing power, a country falling down on recession and a bike. Lol.

The GF part is longer and complex, if someone is curious I can tell. The thing is that alone I was able to barely win enough to eat and pay taxes. On poker I was gambling on Mtts and SNGs. I reloaded $50 like 4 or 5 times. Life was so tedious with like 14hs of work everyday that the only emotion/fun I had was poker. I think that's the reason why I wasn't able to stop gambling on bigger Mtts that the ones I needed to play.

I go broke on poker, and I find myself without money to reload, and without the possibility of getting money for it. Factory wasn't going good also. So I took a desicion: Will use my last money ($13) to reload, and will take it seriously. Will take a real shot at poker, while working on the factory just the neccesary time to be able to eat meanwhile.

I spend 3 months playing only 0.25 45/90 sng's. Increase my BR to $180 there and climbed to $1's 45/180 sngs and some 0.55/1.10 Mtts. It took me almost a year to grow BR to $1400. On this point I decided to close the factory and focus 100% on poker.

First plan was to play STTs. Failed.

Second was to play $1 180's (where I had the bigger ROI) and mix it with $4.50 on demand Sngs. It went realy good for like 2 or 3 months. Here I was able to live with like 200/300 a moth, so I was able to live and also save some. Then "the downsing", I find myself with $800 BR, that scared me a lot. I Decide to switch to cash, I heard it was more "stable". I started on NL5 PS, playing 9 tables. I din't realy knew anything about cash, I focused 100% on tourneys since I decided to take poker seriously. First month I end even. Then slowly I start to win. At these times I played like 12hs a day. It took me like 10/11 months to climb to NL25, where finaly I was on financial peace. 2020 was half NL25 half NL50. This month I started shooting NL100.

The plan:

The plan itself is to live the life I think is the best life possible: No money problems, a big and good family on some big beautiful house on some "farm" place in a normal country.

Poker plan:

The poker plan is to climb stakes up to shooting/being on NL500 in a year. I don't realy care if it takes me a year or two but its a good base to think it on a year, I feel it possible also. When I get it I want to also start focusing on other investment while playing poker.

Plan:

- Money management will be from now on: 25% to spend. 25% savings. 50% poker BR.
- Poker time will be: Study time 2hs a day, 5 days a week. Playing time 7hs a day, 6 days a week. *
- Improve and focus on mindset.
- Improve and focus on leaks.
- Quit smoking. I smoke since 2001.
- Start having a life. Since I broke up with ex GF my life has been 100% poker focused. I planned this year (when at 25/50) to start focusing more on having a life but then covid 19 arrived. 8 months of strict quarentine here and we are still on it.

* I want to buy in 1 or 2 months a big TV to connect as monitor to play some more tables. Then will change this to 6hs play 8 tables. Now I'm on 7hs play 4 tables.

POKER:

This is this years graph. I feel like I play a low amount of hands, I want to grow this to +50% at least this year. PS restriction to 4 tables didn't help me with this. I tried add some Zoom tables on PP but it din't work.

Plan is to buy a big TV and add 2 regular tables on other plataform for some time, then add 2 more to play 8 regular tables in the end. Right now my 19' monitor isn't enough for me to feel confortable multi lobbing. I need tables to be "big" and tiled.

On the graph you can see my leaks. I need to start paying attention to red line a lot. Its a micro "OK" graph but now shoting NL100 I will need to study and focus on a more aggresive strategy.

I have being always a "defensive/pasive" player in every game. I play football games with 5 defense players lol. I think I'm getting better on this but need much more study and effort.

My leaks:

- Call station
- Pasive
- Low 3b

Working on this right now. I feel that I won't be able to survive on NL100 (or have a decent bb/100) with my classic strat.

The root of all this leaks I think is fighting maniacs and good aggro regs. I tend to call them too much, or avoid them by being too passive. I need to focus on this the most. I think I will watch streams or videos of good regs with the idea of understanding where the fold or call is OK.

My general 3b es 6%, horrible. I think I escape 3betting because of being a station. This needs to be fixed quicly. I'm on it.

This month is the only bad month of the year, right now winnings are +98. Last year I had several break even months and only dicember on -100.
