My logic being we flop two backdoor flush draws and a back door straight draw. Also block top set. I'm betting pot for two reasons: 1. for hand protection/equity denial and 2. If you look at hands that likely ship on us here, I think we fare OK against that range. We have 9 outs against most two pairs, are in good shape against 9TJ. And against sets we still have equity. I'm mostly self taught in PLO, minus 2 of Hwang' s books, so again not sure if that's correct thinking or not.

Very fair question.
For one thing there's a small site I know of where a whole bunch of 2k plo sometimes runs like 4+ tables.
It's not that easy to get in volume of 2knl on U.S. sites these days.
In general I think PLO games are softer, fish are worse, regs are worse.
I also am looking to get into more live games longer term and I think PLO will be good to know in this regard.

There are also general life EV reasons where I get bored of holdem and I've found that working on PLO has made me think a lot harder about holdem and actually re-focus attention on my holdem game.

But if you want just one reason...while writing this I looked at the lobbies on one of the U.S. sites:

I think increased volume and improved table selection are the sort of general overarching reasons.

Yeah I put in a lot of volume on that network so if I saw that kind of traffic i'd be pretty happy, it's definitely not the norm. Altho something to consider as well is those games are pretty reg infested compared to a year ago and have very high rake. Plus those regs are good regs not the usual bad global regs that bumhunt. I know that lobby looks attractive but it really isn't that sexy. Also an extra fulltime reg actually makes a pretty big difference in softness of the games so the games you'd jump into automatically become worse on average by you being present (for me as well).
Just things i'm voicing, obviously you have good reasons for going into plo. I guess this means you intend on playing poker for longer than 3 more years?

hmmkay holdem struggles continue, pretty frustrating it seems I won't be able to have much of a live roll this holiday season. Have to keep my money online for the time being it seems. Having a bunch of money in btc doesn't help bc I don't want to sell it and pay the taxes on the appreciation.

anyway on to PLO...of which I played some this morning...

anyone donking river there? blockerswise it doesn't seem great lacking a high spade blocker and blocking 4x/8x. however donking could still be good since the f draw came in on the back end and V prob isn't cbetting many if any unpaired XsXs hands otf.

I thought 3bettor will overfold turn vs. lead in that spot. When he quickly called turn I chickened out on continuing river, thought his turn calling range would be pretty strong. Maybe I shouldn't be leading turn if I can't follow through otr.

1. fold turn
2. fold turn readless
3. good candidate to barrel river with Qs and some high straight blockers
4. yeah, no need to pot, turn lead is probably okay at the micros
5. 3b is aggresive oop and without a suit. i think turn call is not bad, river looks like a fold, too, but I would watch out for sizing that screams value (vs thinking players trying to level you and bluff for cheap).

thx m8. I'm a little surprised on turn fold in h2, seems like we have enough equity to see another, especially unblocking J9/QJ hands?

and yeah pretty much @ that meme. all thats left for wdraws in online poker is paypal and btc lol. one is from the 20th century, the other from the 22nd .

Note that you're 150BB effective. I honestly have 0 idea what is good here. In game I'd be inclined to pot, pot, shove river. As played I'd be inclined to value bet river. He should show up with almost 0 boats here, and should be calling with most flushes.
