That KJo seems like too wide of an bluff. I mean you wont get many folds OTT here so I would try to set up better SPR for the river shove, with odds as played he wont fold much otr so as played i think giving up river is better than shoving.

Really interesting seeing those photos. I've been to the North of Finland and it's simply stunning. Great people as well. Where abouts are you?

I live in Tampere Where abouts did you visit? Today is quite beautiful too - it is -13 outside but check out the sun and the sky!

Thanks! Yeh wim hof is an intriguing character! Incredible too. I do enjoy focusing on my breathing sometimes and sometimes I follow along to the YT video where he shows Louis Howes what to do. It's nice because it sounds like wim if giving you personal instruction lol. But overall i'm not too into it and they have quite a big community but i'm not part of it.

So like the good boy I am, this is getting an update again.

I FTed the Mini Super Tuesday Early yesterday and got 6th in a hilarious FT. That will be all on that. It was a winning day slightly I think.

Been a while...

Easter report

I just got back from a weeks holiday in the UK with my fiancee that was really nice. Relaxing for a change! Normally when I head back for a short visit the fear of flying and every day being booked up with catching up with different people means that I don't get a chance to breath. There's normally very little downtime and before you know it i'm back on the plane anxious as hell wondering why the beer isn't working any looking at messages from ppl asking when I'm back in UK cos we didn't get a chance to meet.

Not this time! I met with one of my best men and his gf and we started to plan my stag do while I ate apple pie which was fun. I also attended another friends wedding and still found time to hang out with another good mate and still have time for a day out with my fiancee in the Cotswolds, which was simply lovely. I'd been to the Cotswolds many times but not for about 10 years. I knew it was beautiful but it wasn't until this time that I felt glad to be there and imagined how amazing it would be to live there. We had lunch in Chipping Camden and then drove to Broadway for a cream tea. Both were very nice. There are a few pics on my insta for those who want to see.

Update on THE CUT: (warning TL;DR about calories and all that shlt)

It is feeling like it is going really well. I had been extremely conservative with my daily cal goal in as much as in only working at TIIINY deficit. I had some interesting results:

I was aiming for 2100 cal a day for the last month. However, each week I averaged 2300, 2400, 2300, 2200 but my weight was exactly the same at the end of the 4 weeks. I clearly hadn't hit the goal which makes it easy to see why I did't lose weight. Fortunately, I had been eating very well, easily the healthiest month of my life so strength has been going up pretty quickly. I could just say "ok hit 2100 this week and evaluate after weighing in after 1 week" but I've decided to simply lower (again very conservative) the cals to a nice round 2000 a day and try and hit that as close as I can without being too OTT about it. My macros are 40% carbohydrate/40% protein/20% fat (hitting this is hard though and I often end up around 33/33/33)

If I do this this I have no doubt I will lose weight and AT LEAST maintain strength. I am working out 4-5x a week atm so I am burning a decent amount of energy.

Last week was ofc Easter and I still managed to hit the gym 3 times which i'm super happy about because I would have been happy with two! Unsurprisingly I went from about 73.5kg to 75kg in one week which I can only assume was probably all water and fat. During this week I had some nice lists though lifting 120kg for a double on Deadlift and lifting 180kgx15, 200kgx12, 210kgx10, 220kgx8, 225kgx6 on leg press.

So I tried something a little different in my attempts to show serious heart and give 100%. On saturday I ate 400g of broccoli, 300g of pork loin, 2 eggs, 1 avocado and one whole cucumber in one meal which came to just over 1k cal. I immediately went into a 36hour fast on sodium and potassium and started burning through some fat in a muscle sparing manner.

I weighed in this morning at 72.2kg. I estimate I prolly lost about 2kg of water weight, 1kg from fat and 10-30g of muscle mass (which is **** all).

I think its about time to become accountable because I am far from shredded and far from overweight and in reality it should be relatively easy for me to get shredded in the next 7 weeks. I am injury free, the strongest I have ever been at this weight and generally feel very healthy.

Guess it's time to post some progress pics. It is important to note that I ALWAYS weigh in 1st thing after waking up. This is to keep things somewhat consistent etc with regards to things like water weight. There is no pump, no flexing, no funny lighting, nothing like that (I'll save that to the end haha)

I've heard a lot of people are saying that posting pics makes you accountable and that's the best way to make good progress so now I've done it. I must say I sort of do feel a bit more motivated already because If I don't make more progress it will go down as a fail!

So in conclusion, I am essentially the same weight but I am pretty sure I have lost fat and put on a little muscle as I am getting stronger all the time. I broke the fast this morning with some porridge with some nutella mixed in. Will have an omlette for lunch, then its leg day, and then I will shovel in a ton of chicken breast and veg with some nice.

LETS DO THIS!!! time to get shredded and become a buff husband FK YEH

Lets keep this short lol. EV peaking all the time, and i might even post update later or tomorrow if I can hit 8bbEV/100 for the year later.

My main issue right now is that I want to make sure my volume stays good. First 3 months were fantastic volume wise but lately I have been turning down the opportunity to flick in another mtt even if I could have easily done so. I know that smashing volume is the best way for me to finish the year with some good $$$ and I need to remind myself now, ITT, to stick by my guns and hit the goals I set myself at the start of the year.

I want to play 10k tournaments this year and am on pace to hit about 8k. It's time to turn up the heat!!

Pretty pumped for a huge SCOOP and I am as prepared as I can be. Played decent today after some time off. Got 3rd here after lose a flip for 80BB 3 handed so not gunna win an MTT after that right.



KK into AA in the $215 for 70BB (35bbeff) to hurt the EV btu had previously run up a big stack with people donating so overall EV is sky high still. Really am in a good spot to win something big I think! Will show some serious heart and grind A LOT so LGF. Will be trying to bink so we can go to Mauritius for honeymoon

Cut is going freaking well. Losing weight (slightly) but gaining strength. Detailed update and pics soon.

Had a nice session yesterday where I did:

strict press at 32.5kg for 15 reps (meant to do push press but forgot haha)

then I remembered so then did Push Press:

37.5kg x12
42.5kg x10
47kg x8
52.5kg x6

(60 secs rest between sets)

weighed in at 73kg in the morning.

Cool thread man and awesome results! I've just started my poker journey but am making my way up the MTT ladder (hopefully). Still a ways away from making a living, but I always kind of thought it would be cool to live in Finland. I'm from Canada and lots of the nordic European countries interest me. Is life out there pricey, or is it pretty cheap? Any other cool places you'd recommend a poker player try living at for a bit?

thanks mate! Yes, The only bad thing about living here is the high prices. If you are bad with money you are in serious trouble here lol. I haven't lived in many places really. That being said, the UK is good to grind in terms of quality of life and cost of living.

I spend 3 months in Lisbon in a grind house which was cheaper than the Uk. Quality of living appeared lower than the UK but in Lisbon was't an issue (except that their debit card machines at shop tills (if they had one) were the size of a small country lol)

Finland is the best place I've ever been to by a country mile, but you have to pay for it. So I am lucky enough to recommend the 3 places I've ever ground in, as good places to play poker for a living.

I'm about to go to bed but I just wanted to post a quick update just for gym really. Took progress pics this morning and was motivated because I can see results beginning to show.

I weighed in this morning at 73.1kg which is more or less what I weighed 1 week ago. This is fine however because I am getting stronger every week and I am clearly not getting fatter so I am putting on muscle at the expense of fat which is essentially the goal This is all part of the motivation! Seeing results! I did a 30min incline walk today and my nutrition was dialled into a tee this week and ate nice food all week so I am really pleased with the cut so far. GOTTA STAY CONSISTENT!

Just finished a decent little session where I think I played pretty decent. It was only a short session but had some interesting hands and saw tons of spots where people where handing me money. At the same time there were pleaty of spots where I realised in game that I wasn't sure what was best.

This is just a reminded in the form of an update that I need to review these hands before my next session

Not 100% if I grind the next 2 days as my hours are still a little out.

Atm I am loving the gym. Everything is going perfect. Did squats today which are not my strong point. I feel I squat very weak compared to some, but at the same time I'm confident with my form. But It would be nice to see some progress with squats and DL soon.

This is an update about last sunday:



So, SCOOP IS HERE (practically)

Clearly this is a big month for a lot of us and in a way this month has come at a pretty damn good time.

I am approaching the last 5 weeks of the cutting plan. What does this mean? Well, I am forced to workout hard (5-6 days a week) during the next 5 weeks. I will have less spare time to do this during SCOOP but in a way never will there be a more important time to stay active - during this mentally gruelling period.

I feel that the discipline will keep me going strong and help keep me focused and fresh.

When SCOOP draws to a close, I will almost immediately be having my stag do (I think) and then at the end of June. I GET MARRIED.

This is going to be a big summer.

I really feel in damn good shape going into SCOOP. Never have I felt less stressed, more optimistic and more prepared going into a big series as I do this time.

Expect some serious sweats guys!

Day out tomorrow visiting friends and a beer or two and then back sunday early afternoon. I'll get in a chest and back session and then...

it begins...
