So we're almost done for the month with 2.5k hands left to play. I hope I can get this done by Wednesday because my GF is turning 33 on Thursday and I just want to celebrate the whole day with her.

I'm pretty excited about how I played this first month of poker since 2016, but let's not celebrate too early.

I will post the final graph after 30k hand mark.

Good luck at the tables

Challenge completed
Sooooo, these last couple of thousand hands were a complete disaster, lol. I couldn't win a single hand it seemed which made me made a few mistakes/spews as well. I'm happy to call it a month. If I knew I would win over 58 buy ins I would have been very happy, but at the moment I feel a bit disappointed with how this ended. I just cashed out a pretty healthy roll because I also made about $ 150 with bonusses and a small tourney cash.

I will move up to 25NL at Party, because 888 pools >10nl are only running at peak times.

Graph

I hope 888 is not too slow with withdrawals, but tomorrow is my gf's b-day so won't be playing at all. Hopefully we can start on Friday playing at Party. Looking forward to move up.

I will keep the thread going for at least another month.

Target next month
# hands: 30K
# buy ins: 30 (probably too ambitious, but hey ho let's go)

Good luck all

Here we are at PartyPoker and 25nl FastForward, but it's been a hell of a ride. Really have a hard time changing gears as it's pretty agressive. This resulted in a very, very bad start and already I decided to get back in the 10nl pool to get my game somewhat going and hopefully to regain some of my bankroll. A bit of a disappointment overall, but the only stupid thing I can do is keep getting crushed at 25nl and lose my roll.

It always really rough to hit the downswing when moving up in stakes, especially such a big jump like 10 -> 25. You capable of crushing, so hope you aren't too disheartened.

Although I've not played there myself, I often see people say party is one of the toughest sites (probably because they actually offer rake back!)

Good luck!

Thanks man, I appreciate it.

I haven't played any hands because I was away for the weekend. Hopefully this break will get me fully focussed for 10nl again. Hitting the tables again starting tomorrow.

It's been a while since my last post because I decided to stop playing at Party. The software is really annoying (is it just me?) and this had impact on my game. So I took my losses, cashed out and I am gonna try and get back to even this month at 888 and see from there. I might switch to Pokerstars later, but first of all enjoy the games again.

Won't be a real update without my losses at Party:

Good luck, but more important, have fun at the tables

Unfortunately I couldn't catch up at 888 the 2nd half of the month, but I think I managed ok overall after the bad start at Party. Due to all weird stuff happening at 888 nowadays (bonus program failure), I will probably switch site again. I just wanna have fun and we all love the Pokerstars software, so that's where you will see me next month. Playing 16nl, moving up and don't bother too much of the losses in May. My roll is still decent for 16nl I guess and if things don't work out, I am perfectly capable of moving down (again).

This was Party + 888 for May:

Let's get 30K hands in June and aim for 4bb/100.

Off-table goals
I read a nice article which made me realize I'm pretty much wasting more time nowadays doing random **** than I was when I still had a job. For example I spend too much time browsing (incl. 2+2) or checking my phone without even looking at it.

While I have a decent daily routine with everyday yoga and every other day some indoor training (happy when I can get back to indoor bouldering), I spend too much time on doing random **** I didn't do before 'lockdown'. So it's time to stand up so we can get a better 'me' and this might also result in better pokerresults, or at least focus. I will also go to 1 weekly update in this thread, which will take place every Sunday during June as a test.

So I will challenge myself to do the following things this month:
- keep up the everyday yoga sessions (~30 mins)
- indoor training every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday (~30 mins)
- to realize indoor training I will make a schedule
- read 1 book for personal growht: Think and grow rich by Napoleon Hill
- read 1 book for relaxing): t.b.c.
- arrange 3 date nights with my fiancé
- play 30k hands in June at 16nl with 4bbev/100
- study 1 big losing hand and 1 big winning hand of the day before
- less checking social media / 2+2 (subjective goal obv)

Really motivated to do well this month and looking forward to play 16nl at Stars

I will be this month, was taking shots at 25nl for the last two weeks. I started well and was up 10bi’s but dropped that in two sessions. I want to re build a bit at 16 and hopefully move back up. We could do side bet? 30k hands in June highest win rate

At first glance I’m really happy I moved to Pokerstars I really enjoy the games and it went pretty well overall. I didn’t play as much as I intended, but in the end I had a pretty busy schedule so that’s totally fine. Also I worked on my off table goals and I found myself a new job – starting in August. This gives me two more months where I can just relax, play some poker and do some stuff that are on my to-do list.

Anyway, back to poker. I played a 100k freeroll day 1 at 888 (still had a ticket) and made it to day 2 with an average stack (~23bb). Day 2 is also the ‘final day’, so I hope to do well, but to be honest I had a pretty wild weekend so I’m pretty lazy and somewhat hangover. One time.

A pretty decent week again, looking at both my table and off-table goals. I finished both my books (Think and grow rich) and some random thriller XO by Jefferey Deaver, so gonna get some new ones as well. I also do well on the every day yoga practice and my indoor training. I still have to work on the 'less Social Media' target, but in hindsight I'm doing pretty OK overall.

At the tables I had another decent week, unfortunately it didn't come as easy as the first week, but still managed to have a very good evbb/100. If I can keep this up, I might try 25z at the end of the month for a few buy ins. Unfortunately I didn't make a run in the money at the second day freeroll, by the way.

So I did make 7k hands this week altho it's only Friday (counting Mon-Sun), but I am leaving for 2 days with my GF so I'm not playing more poker. Gonna continue on Monday again I guess and hopefully I can play a bit better than I did a few sessions this week, managed to spew a few stacks as a result of making 2nd best hands every time (or got bluffed a lot idk). Luckily I ran a bunch over EV this week.

Anyway time to wrap this up, this week:

This week
I got slightly injured this week so I had to change my yoga practices unfortunately. But it's going ok now so I will get back to normal practices again next week. I think I'm going ok with my other goals and the good news: we can get back to bouldering starting next week. They re-open again after closing due to COVID.

As for poker: I didn't get 7k hands in this week and I had a tough time at the start, but a few good session (or maybe big hands) made up for it. Month is really going well at 16nl. I'm not sure if the new antes changed anything for me or if this is necessary (probably only preflop sizing).

June
Sooo, I think I did pretty well with my goals in general:

everyday yoga sessions
indoor training
schedule for training
read 1 book for personal growht: Think and grow rich by Napoleon Hill / did 2
read 1 book for relaxing): XO by Jefferey Deaver
arrange 3 date nights with my fiancé:
play 30k hands in June at 16nl with 4evbb/100 - 30K with 14evbb/100
study 1 big losing hand and 1 big winning hand of the day before - not so much
less checking social media / 2+2 (subjective goal obv) - can be better

I'm very happy with the results, however I know there still is a lot to improve.

I will keep some goals for next month and delete some, because I can go bouldering again (re-open after Corona) starting tomorrow. I also wanne throw in some other goals, because poker for me is just not the most important thing in life. Gonna think about this for a while and come back later.

So it's been a while since my last update because I also wanted to enjoy my last month of not working. Been away for a few days, read a lot of books (really happy with my new e-reader) and obv spent a lot of hours at the bouldergym already.

I didn't make any new (poker)goals for the month, but it's a bit like this:
- read more books (2 for personal growth: communications & Covey's book about effective leadership/management)
- get back to 6a (and some 6b's) with indoor bouldering
- play 20k hands at 16nl
- win 10evbb/100 (last month's 14bb was probably)

I mentioned playing 25nl in my last update, but I decided to stay at 16nl. Mostly because I don't want to be 'too serious' about poker with my new job ahead and I can play 16nl pretty much without any stress. I am also not sure if I keep playing at all after this month.
