XD he would crush no matter if he played loose or tight, but yeah assuming he is VPIP super tight and just crushing w/ tight range.

Hahahahaha you give me too much respect with 8/6.
I like to limp Aces for trappy trappy. I try and trap KK out of BB vs single raise to protect my range. QQ I also flat because I dont want to get 4 bet because they are scary. BUT JJ i 3bet 6x because I am scared to see a flop. So my stats are more like 44/2.

Re: ScottyCorbett: 2019 500z Grind and Beyond
15th April --> 21st April
Poker Study
Bought a 1 year GTO trainer subscription to warm up before sessions and study in a more enjoyable way. So played around with that this week.
Meditation
Only 1 session this week. Didn't make enough time for it again.
Mobility
N/A
Weight
99.6kg --> 97kg. Back in the gym full time this week and my back seems to be going fine! I have Europe in 3 months + plus I am at a point where a recomp is necessary in my bulk (getting fairly high BF%). So decided to do a 3 months **** and see what sort of shape I am in.
Poker Earnings
$2,568.07 AUD ($1,683.20 USD). Ran well in EV this week. Pools were great and got solid volume. I slacked some hours later in the week due to fatigue but 15k hands is respectable.
Week Recap
Very stock standard week in the office. Think I am playing really well, but need to keep up study consistency. Hopefully with GTO trainer ill be in the lab abit more before 500z is up and running each morning. Really glad to be back in the gym and tracking my diet again. Really hoping there is some foundational muscle underneath the dad bod.
2019 = $69,362.87/$150,000 AUD
HH
H1)
Another over 4betting reg getting spanked
H2)
mid freq x/r flop. Can 1/3 turn or check. River easy overbet jam. Called off by JJ.
H3)
uhhhhh k?
H4) ouch
V stnd to river. River card is super interesting because villain has like no flushes or AK imo now so I like jamming, however I did pio and it is a river we almost always range check on. His call is pretty atrocious blocking a J when most triples will be QJs and J10s. I guess reg assumes that this spot is severely undervalue bet and hence, overbluffed. Which does make sense for population but I know im jamming v thin here, so pretty unfortunate I have like 1 of my 6 bluff combos.

I dont have a weekly earnings goal, I have a yearly goal. The weekly update is just wat the yearly bankroll is sitting at.

Hi - might come off as a stupid question but you're playing on Ignition right? Just wondering why your HM profile says ScottyCorbett (PS) e.g. PokerStars?

Hey, honestly not sure why. When i convert my hands with Ignition card converter it labels all hands with the nickname 'scottycorbett' and then I dont think Hem2 has an ignition/bodog skin that recognizes it so it just puts it down as PS.

gl with goals. Are you still planning on moving up to 1knl or 2knl tables eventually or do you think 500z has a higher hourly because of volume?

Thanks, yeah definitely. My bankroll is ready for a shot but there are a few modules I want to pio and be more proficient in before I shoot. Hopefully i'll be ready around June. In terms of hourly, I think they would be very similar for me, so the aim will be to drop 200z and play 2x 500z 2x 1knl reg.

What are your thoughts on GTO trainer?
Have you uploaded your own PIO sims and played vs those, or bought any of the expansion packs?

Yeah I am in no rush, + I know that doing these entire modules is improving my game exponentially.

Havn't used it that much but I think the software is extremely useful. Its easier to build an intuition of what equilibrium looks like when you are practicing it with cards at a table. It translates more to actual play and I can definitely see it helping alot. This said, I think it probably needs to be supplemented with pure PIO work too, unless you are using GTO trainer everyday religiously. I will only use my own uploaded PIO sims, no point in me buying any.

Getting between 650-700 hph on average. If both 200z/500z are running 50 ppl + then I can easily get 700hph. Tbh I think the software is completely bearable now with black background and table tamer.

Re: ScottyCorbett: 2019 500z Grind and Beyond
APRIL
Poker Study
total = 720/1200 minutes. Although on paper I fell short of hours I am super happy this month with the amount I learnt and applied to study. I finally finished of the BvB module that has been hanging over my head for months. I have decided to alter my schedule slightly in the mean time from 6 hours of play a day to 2 hours of study in the morning followed by x2 2 hour sessions (4hr total). The reason is 2 fold. 1) the 500z games, being my main bread winner, don't start untill my afternoon so morning battling for volume isn't the most +ev option. 2) I am in a spot financially that I think dedicating more time to study and sacrificing some volume in order to increase future EV and be ready to shot 1knl by mid year, is the far higher EV option. + it is nice doing 2 hour sessions because I find you skip that "autopilot" zone when your brain starts to melt.
Meditation
total = 8/20. This month I switched from timed meditation to just meditating and stopping when I felt like doing so. This was the most enjoyable meditation has been so far and I think that this shows with my participation rate being the highest its been. In terms of noticeable effects, I would say that from when I started it is much easier to reach that point of intense focus and eliminating mind wandering is much easier.
Mobility
total = 0/420. N/A
Weight/Gym
total = 100kg --> 98.7kg. Got back into the gym this month after my lower back injury and it has been going well. Mid month I started a cut/recomp in order to cut down and look half decent when i go to europe and to reset my body fat %. Less calories definitely sucks and workouts take longer to recover from, + I can't just go into the cupboard eat a bag of chips shamelessly and palm it off to "but im bulking brah". Other than that all is well on this front.
Poker Earnings
total = $15,542.65 AUD ($10,903.3 USD). Another month in the green and another month well above EV xD I think I noticed this month that the main reason im so far above EV is being able to hold my turn all in flips and 75%ers so far. Definitely trying to not take this for granted because I know how bad this sucks the other way around. Happy with how I played this month. 67k hands was a bit short of my 80k hand goal however, which is slightly disappointing. But given the change to schedule and waves of motivation and the opposite I think it is a solid effort all round.
APRIL RECAP
Another month in the books. Honestly scary every time I write a monthly update because I am noticing just how quick this year is going. Couldn't be more satisfied with how it is panning out though. Really stoked to be back in the gym and cutting down pre-europe trip. Most happy with the schedule change I have made and motivated to punch out more modules after seeing how much this BvB work increased my SB WR over the last 300k hands. We stand at almost the halfway mark of our goal by the end of April LFGGGGG

What's ev winrate on the year? Do you ever feel any trepidation ever about the sick swings that occur in games with only a couple bb/100 winrate? Congrats on the great year so far, seems like you are putting in a lot of hard work.

Thanks, pretty much 3evbb over 287k hands. Nah, after being on both sides of extreme variance now both 40bi under ev and 40bi above ev in short periods of time I am "comfortable" with the swings and know how brutal it can be mentally. Really important you judge your sessions success by how well you feel you played and how much volume you put in. I guess you begin to learn that it is just so out of your control that you give up on caring about short term results.
