Hey guys,

So I'm thinking I will update this thread weekly every Monday (AUS TIME), recapping each week of the month. As for the format I think I will post my weekly graph, the progression of all stake win rates to see how they change throughout the year & a handful of interesting hands from the week. Then at the end of each month ill post a monthly recap with more graphs and results of all of the goals I laid out in my opening post. R.e my 2019 goals: I will start these and post about them from the 1st of Jan 2019.

17th December -> 24th December

Rough week. December started out insanely well, up almost 30biEv at 500nl in 20k hands and then the last 2 weeks have gone very poorly to say the least. Approx. 21 bi under EV so far of the 500nl shot, all of which are at 500z. Learnt a lot this week though and really confident going into Jan. Probably wont put too much volume in before then.

H1)

https://clips.twitch.tv/AssiduousOptimisticKalePupper not even that mad tbh

H2)

Actually think this is a pretty clear fold given size. Don't think villain (even unknown reg) ever jams worse and wont have enough bluffs given large river jam for us to even want to start consider bluffcatching here.

H3)

Think turn check is a mistake. I should just X/R triple here. I ****ed up because I didnt realize turn SPR would be so large. I think in a 100b effective spot I like this line because population will 1) bet jam all value and we can get stacks in 2) bluff aggressively vs this line in which population is generally so capped. However, when villain (reg) 1/3 turn its difficult for him to get it all in on the river and then he has a very easy bet fold exploitatively against the pool. I imagined that my check call would allow it so that all his value and bluffs would jam river and it would be overall higher EV. Given how deep we were I should deffs just barrel D:

H4)

Another interesting bluff catching spot. Again, I think that when villain uses this slightly over pot river bet he doesnt have the correct ratio of bluffs for us to want to bluffcatch here profitably, and ofc he is never jamming worse. So another spot that I am definitely looking to make and exploitative fold in the future

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Will try to post more hands next recap and go into a little bit more details on each but I just wanted to get a post in today. Merry Xmas and happy new year legends!

I think xr 1010 on 1043ddx is a mistake
Perhaps we should be xr like 33 or 44 but not too set
Interested to hear what pio says

IP flop strat

He is supposed to bet 2/3 with range given how strong it is on this board when I dont give oop 44 and 33 (because im not opening them utg). I imagine if i solved it for a larger flop size it would even overbet the flop.

OOP response:

X/R half time X/C sometimes. however I think X/R 100% performs better because the EV gained from check calling TT is based on villain applying tonnes of pressure over 3 streets with his strong range and this deep i dont think the average 200z reg will do this enough so my assumption is that X/R does better.

OOP turn strat:

Checking TT sometime for range protection but mostly just betting for 2/3 sizing looking to jam river almost always. If we do check its supposed to be another X/R so i knew i made a mistake by check calling turn.

Hats really interesting
I would have assumed ip just bet that flop 1/3 very often and if for example sample texture was 1083dd then bet larger.

Agree we don’t have 44 or 33 in our range so I was just considering what hands we would be xr and what hands we would call. It seems our range for xr is skewed towards value therefore ip could overfold easily due to lacking bluffs.

Either ways nice to compare actions with Pio as I would never of xr and hands on that flop to protect my range

1st Jan --> 7th Jan

Alright, first post of the new year! Hope everyone had a solid first week of grinding and a good new years. This week was a bit slow going with a hefty 2 day hangover from a loose new years.

Poker Study
Did not meet my goal this week. Again, slow start to the week and a degen weekend away on Friday in the suburbs so was a bit slack with study. Managed to fit 2 short pio sessions in where i reviewed approx. 6 hands. Have multiple study sessions lined up this week with the group so should easily hit next weeks quota.

Meditation
In terms of my lifestyle goals I only meditated once which is a terrible effort. From the 1 session that I did it was extremely relaxing and definitely provides some form of mental clarity so I imagine i will try to fit the meditation sessions in between my poker breaks. I was recommended to start off with 10 minute sessions so I'm going to cut my original goal back to 70 mins per week.

Mobility
Chucking in an additional task each week of mobility. Squat and deadlift have been suffering in the gym because of terrible hip and ankle mobility from many years of soccer. Will be trying to hit 105 minutes a week (15 mins a day).

Weight
95.6kg --> 96.2kg. Not much to say here, close to my 500g per week goal so happy days. Fat boy incoming.

Poker Earnings
Only grind 10k hands but had some pretty decent sessions, so overall up $4234 AUD this week. 500z flirting with me a little to keep me interested.

Week Recap
Was a bit of a recovery week, with intentional lack of volume. Will definitely be hitting this week head on planning on meeting every goal this week.

Some Hands

H1)

Firstly, I should probably PIO this spot because although the turn is v good for my range and improve alot of my bluffs, my raising range might be wide enough on this texture to warrant a larger turn size (still assume it would go small though). Nevertheless, think once we get X/R on turn we just have to puke and GII.

H2)

Villains turn sizing here is pretty interesting. I think once he doesnt raise my 1/3 on this texture he is going to be fairly capped and for him to then rep so polar on the turn was odd. Me having the 9x blocker and J10 blocker and his bet being so large I'm really happy to jam with this hand. My draws better bruh.

H3) levels to this **** boi

Triple check the nuts here because I think pop actually checks back too much Kx (esp. AK) here and will always find a value bet on the river with a hand that is a pair with a nut blocker. So I went with the extremely polar line knowing his betting range just had so many nut blockers which would level themselves after using their small size

H4)

Reg table. BU & SB massive fish and UTG suspected reg. UTG cbetting range on this texture into 4 with 2 fish is obviously v nutted. However, I know my flop fold equity is so poor but I think I can generate alot of folds from parts of his range on turn. This is a spot where UTG might not even have 44 and cannot have 75s. We as the big blind have every set and the most 75s. This with the fact that I block the nuts, have a FD + SD, I think its a pretty easy overbet shove on turn with our equity. Surprised villain made the call.

H5)

Another spot where UTG's betting range is super strong so with bottom set its an easy flop raise. Turn im unsure. I think I prefer shoving with my range or checking. Most of my flop raises are combo draws which mostly want to shove turn. + its a spot where almost all of my flop value raises require a TONNE of protection and value on that dynamic turn. So overall I think i prefer OB jam. As played river is ****ing disgusting and I should probably make the fold as I think his check call range on turn leaves him with no sets and he probably has alot of combo draws which contain 10x D:

Them gains are looking good. I like the structure of the post. Easy to read and informative. Also good balance between personal updates and poker updates.

Lets see some good volume this week.

How you managed to win @ 3bb/100 at 200z with the atrocious way you played your hands (esp. TT and J7cc) is beyond me. It makes me feel bad about winning at a similar winrate.

Had to say it sorry. GL anyway :/

I am not sure if you misread the hands but the villain has TT and Jc7c, not Scott.

Awesome results man and goodluck with the goals

As for the bodybuilding goals, aim for more like 15kg of muscle in a year, should be doable if you are a gym noobie and you have great sleeping/nutrition/form
