15th Feb --> 21st Feb

Poker Study
2 sessions this week. Continued with our BvB module looking at turn strats for IP and OOP. Also looked at 4BP COvsBU as this is coming up a tonne at 500z. Definitely a breeze to study in contrast to BvB wide range interaction and super useful.

Meditation
Again, didnt meditate once. Struggling to find the motivation to fit this into my schedule. Which is surprising because I know how much I would enjoy it and how beneficial it would be. I think other aspects of life that I'm enjoying are taking much more priority (poker and gym).

Mobility
1 session at the gym. Again terrible volume but I have noticed considerable improvement in my lower back pain and hip impingement. Still can't squat well though riiiip.

Weight
99.6kg --> 98.5kg. First week so far of the bulk that I have lost weight. I am completely fine with this as ive been putting on weight rapidly and need to give myself a week at caloric maintenance to just chill. Body has been growing too fast so trying to take a 1-2 week chill on calories.

Poker Earnings
$8387.88 AUD ($5,968.75USD). Unreal week for results. I ran well but I think this is the best poker I have ever played. Specifically, I think the BvB module has highlighted alot of spots in my SRP game that could be improved and I have been finding a tonne more over bet spots and skyrocketing my blue line. Totaled 19k hands for the week.

Week Recap
Overall, really great week. Solid 12bi profit and played my best A game to date. Volume and progress in the gym has been good too. Felt the strongest I have been in the gym tonight. Other lifestyle goals are taking a hit as a result I think, so struggling to get that balance right. Overall Year Profit = $33256.34 AUD ($23,654USD) ... 22% of the 150k challenge complete LFG

Filthy Amount of HH

H1) Interesting Multiway X/R spot

Unblocking Kx and diamonds I like a x/r flop. Turn we want to have some range protects. I think a more reasonable candidate might be K7s and K6s blocking his value portion of range and then just check shove. However, I really dont mind bottom 2 as a check jam also as I think Kx and bluffs are getting bet very often. On river very polar spot so we are 2x or checking and again, I like this combo as a jam unblocking his Kx region. Villain calls and shows KQcc.

H2) Looked him in the eyes

Nothing but a timing tell here boys. gave him the old **** off call. Flop snap call and turn snap check back left me certain he has no boats as they would consider betting turn. Then when he shoves river its boat or bluffs imo.

H3) Spine tingling EV

Pretty sick cooler to GII on turn and be behind 2 combos of AA/KK. Doesn't matter when you bink the 2 outer for a 450bb pot XD

H4) Tidy explo fold

Mid freq. check back on flop with showdown-able FD. River just isn't 3B bluffed by population with relevant blockers and dont think he raises worse so in the muck she goes.

H5)

Quality is retarted sorry. My line is x/r, 33%, x/c. Just enjoyed this hand. Mixing between betting and X/R here on flop. Turn is interesting. I think I am actually allowed to 2/3 with a significant portion of range given the lack of Ax he should be bet calling. So hands like QQ/JJ may still be able to go large however I like 1/3 to put his under pair/gutshot region in hell. River with my worst flushes I dont mind another small bet however I think checking has the highest EV because regs assume that I under protect my river range on this runout so they are very likely to turn all under pairs and missed gutshots into a bluff + still value bet 6x.

H6)

Spicy value. Just a nice pot and juicy runout for me to get paid super often. Villain ends up x/c AhAs which I dont think he actually should defend given my river size so I think a small edge was made here. Fun hand.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Had to use gyazo for HH so they are pretty fast, sorry. Wicked week overall, hoping to close out Feb strong. GLGL

Nice week! I think 67 specifically is a turn bet on that board but w/e on the blankest of blank turns I suppose. There’s just so many turns we DO check on that I think this hand is b/b/b when diamonds miss

Looks like you’re doing great, all your hard work is paying off. Keep pushing! You will find separation from the pack by not getting lackadaisical in times like these

Thanks bro. Yeah I think I prefer betting 67 almost always and checking k6s/k7s but its probably close either way. I just expect villain to turn bet potentially too often so checking might function better, pretty close either way. Hope your Feb is going well.

During my downswing/BE stretch? If so, I felt like I was playing reasonable well for my current level of play. Not really the type to punt of tilted but I just sooked alot off table. Looking back the negative mindest definitely would have crept in and equated to some bad calls and overall probably slightly lowered my WR. I probably played my most volume then hoping to grind out of the DS.

Its w/e but fairly unnecessary + so many better combos to 4b with relevant blockers. Against population this probably performs okay but against me villain gets crushed

i would guess it was an emotional 4b and prob not in his range. if this combo is in his 4b range imagine how wide it most likely is!

FEBRUARY

Poker Study

total = 650/1200 minutes. More study volume that last month which is an improvement. Overall I still fell short, being unorganized with our study times in the last week. I learnt alot this month however, specifically a tonne about wide range SRP and OOP 4BP. Next month ill be hoping to finish off this BvB module and then probably move back and focus on 3BP as IP and some more SRP.

Meditation

total = 40/280 minutes. Same as last month except in a different pattern. Started week 1 out strong motivated to make this stick and then just stopped. Not too sure what I want to do about this yet.

Mobility

total = 40/420. Same as meditation, I just never dedicated or pushed myself to get these things done. Honestly I was so much more set on grinding, doing some study, getting out in the Australian heat for a tan before summer comes to an end, than I was on doing these goals. This said, my shoulder health feels much better. I am able to complete heavy lifts w/o shoulder impingement/clicking which I believe is a result of strengthening my mid back and stretching my delts alot. My lower back pain has decreased exponentially and my hip impingement when squatting is way less prevalent. So although volume was low I am noticing benefits in this area my life although potentially not actively from mobility training itself.

Weight/Gym

total = 97.5kg (215lbs) --> 100.4kg (221lbs). Only gone and cracked 100kg. Avg weekly increase of 700g which is ideal. This is by far the best shape I have been in my life. My overall body fat % isn't increasing to rapidly and im definitely putting on some mass. If I was to estimate I would say I am @ approx. 20% BF. I definitely dont want to get over 30% though so once I think im near that point it will probably be time for a mini cut and then re-bulk but more sensibly, tracking macros closer this time. Getting way stronger in my compound lifts aswell.

Poker Earnings

total = $10,690.70 AUD ($7,572.39 USD). Month started well going up 10bi, then swang 20bi rapidly in the next 30k hands. Managed to claw it back in the last 2 weeks and finish in the green. No insane overall EV discrepancy to note this month. I think I played some of my best poker to date in February with a little bit of spew towards the end of week 3 being the only hiccup (just a few unnecessary any 2 bluffs). Totaled 77k hands. Slightly less volume than last month which seems standard for a slightly shorter month. I do feel that my volume was definitely lower this month though in terms of hours worked. So March I am aiming to get a minimum of 100k hands which I am certain ill get if the games keep running.

February Recap

Second full time month complete. Very solid Feb, learnt alot, played reasonable volume and had fun. Mobility and meditation slightly lacking (whats new) and unsure what I will do about it. Gym and poker progress are really coming along though which I am most happy about.

$34,955.89/$150,000 AUD LFG and crush March

Lol thanks brother. I havn't 1RM any of these lifts yet sticking to a 3x5 with last set being AMRAP. However, my deadlift is at 120kg for 12 reps (Est. 1RM of 172kg - personally think I could get more than this because its cardio by this many reps, my dl is one of my better lifts which is surprising because my body comp for it is terrible lol. Long asf legs so ROM is pretty large). Squat is 100kg for 10 reps (Est. 1RM of 140kg). Bench press is 77.5kg for 6 (Est. 1RM of 90kg). Nothing special obviously but happy with the progress after the 3 months of training.

1st March --> 7th March

Poker Study
We lost our study glue this week as Ricky shot off to Europe so we were slack to organize any study. Really need to finish this BvB stuff D:

Meditation
N/A

Mobility
N/A

Weight
100.5kg --> 100.6kg. Hefty 100g bulk this week, couldn't be more proud! I want to thank my mum, my da.. jk but happy with this result as I wanted to chill on the weight gain for a week or so. Gym strength increasing well though.
- Completed first weighted dips (10kg belt for 5)
- Squat 115kg for 6
- Deadlift 115kg for 10
- Bench 80kg for 4

Poker Earnings
$2340.60 AUD ($1644.95 USD). Not a bad but not a great week of poker. Think I played reasonably well. 17k hands was under my target for the first week of march, probably due to the fact that 500z wasn't running consistently early in the week. Distribution was decent however all in EV took a bit of a dive. 6bi under EV at 500z left us a bit short. Nothing terrible though and overall a solid week.

Week Recap
Slightly lackluster week. No study, meditation or mobility. Okay volume and earnings. Stoked with gym and weight progress however which I am finding to be a consistent theme. By the end of my days I'm actually craving to go to the gym and get away from the screen which is nice. On to the next

2019 = $37,622.80/$150,000 AUD

HH
Not many interesting spots this week, just a tonne of losing flips and standard lines.

H1) Ah yes, the ol' 45s punt

H2)

I like 3betting this combo for a tonne of reasons at 500z. Easy turn check. I dislike villains sizing, I think its a spot he should probably be all in or checking (havn't pio'd yet). My combo is actually really nutty for a hero call however, blocking bottom set and all relevant A8 combos (assuming regs probably defaulting to x/r k8 and A8 here on flop vs 1/3). Also unblocking his 67 and 79s combos. + his river sizing was a bit of a tell so I rapidly snap called and unfortunately chopped it up. Was planning on calling on alot of brick rivers (non 9, 4, 6, 7) also which would have made for a nice hero call.

H3) Ye ol' overbarrel turn, **** you give up river check call XD

Thanks man. So after almost breaking my PC with this sim..

We aren't really 3betting this board at all (even though I made the 3B size slightly small I dont think its going to 3bet much IP as a defualt).

Villain can have a small donking range with some 8x and OESD

Villains river node (alot of 2/3 which im surprised with) & never bluffing Ahigh

We end up calling some A3 combos and folding others based on suit. Its a super dynamic spot that pends on way too many variables so not really going to take much from it. Just a spot I think 3B flop will perform well. Hope your grind is going well
