I guess I should rephrase. I'm just going to monitor my SB winrate, which I don't usually keep close track of. I won't be changing my play at all or even thinking about it during sessions.

Jesus christ that hand^

I thought KT here is a call vs like any normal person maybe x-raise with bd fd?

Are you x-raising because he is a fish mainly and will call flop very wide and turn wideish as well, and you are saying river is bad overall?

---

GL man, i'm in the same situation as you still a student made a lot of mistakes but can't seem to succeed/a failure for the most part you got this man i hope you obtain your goals

I was IP here, so it wasn't a c/r, but I decided to make the raise against this v because he was cbetting basically 100%, regardless of his cards (as you can tell, he cbet bottom pair lol). I would normally call against most players though. I'd be more likely to raise a hand like 109, and since I had the 10 and 109 got there I decided to fire off. I actually thought he'd fold a queen, but he clearly had other thoughts lol. I'm guessing he liked that he had a 10 to block the straight and the 4 to block 44, but who the **** knows with these fish lol.

Thanks man, good luck to you as well

You really do. It's for sure the toughest part about the game for me. Weed is a huge help when I get annoyed or start feeling tilted. I blaze pretty constantly while I play to stay focused/play without emotions lol.

I think overall my mental game is better than average, but might be my biggest weakness. If I could play my A game 24/7 I think I could crush my 200nl pool for 12+ bb/100

For me, it's not so much how much I'm up or down, it's how I'm winning/losing. I tend to get tilted the most when donkeys luckbox me. If I get outplayed, gg I'll learn from it

and thanks man, good luck to you too!

Hey man,

Also a ignition grinder and recent college graduate..

Was wondering if you'd be interested in assisting with helping me get my DRIVEHUD setup to optimal?

I can't get it to read hands or do anything and I even paid for the pro version.

Would be HIGHLY appreciated and I could pay you?

Thanks,

Tyler

Honestly, I'd suggest contacting Drivehud support directly if you're having technical issues getting the software to work. I'm not going to be able to be much help tbh. And if you need help optimizing you're HUD, I'm not really the guy to ask lol. I just use the default setup.

Just had the most frustrating session. Had AK/AQ 6 times, 3bet them each time, and missed every flop. Basically every time the caller donk led for pot on 789 type flops. so many ****ing donk leads I hate it. Nothing more tilting than 3betting pre, getting called by 104o, and they donk a 10xx flop for pot.. don't get me wrong, I love these guys. they pay my rent. but it's a love/hate thing. they drive me nuts sometimes with how disgusting they play

lost a quick 5 buyins in 400 hands. can I have poker without the variance please? ****, maybe I'll go back to 9max lol

gotta work on that mental game man. you're gonna drive yourself crazy and unfortunately these swings you're talking about are super normal. it'll turn around just keep playing well and make sure you have a proper bankroll for the stakes you're playing. gl

Mental game is the toughest part about poker. For me it isn't about the swings or money though. I could be down 2k on the day and feel good about it if I played well and simply ran into it a lot. What tilts me is when I make mistakes, or when my opponents get rewarded for the mistakes they're making. If I get it all in pre with KK vs AA 5 times in a row it won't feel good, but I'm not gunna feel like punching a wall.

On the other hand, if my opponent calls a 3bet OOP with q10o and flops top 2 against my top pair + NFD, then just decides to lead donk jam for 2x pot, it kinda stings. It's just psychological - I hate being in a spot where my opponent plays so poorly that they will never make money, but I have the only hand combination in the deck that will pay them off.

I have AQhh. 3bet button pre. Flop is Qx10h3h. Opponent lead jams 100 into 45 with Q10o. I'm not even doing bad against his exact hand, but it tilts the **** out of me because his play is so ****ing stupid. He's basically never getting value here from anyone - AK, AJ, JJ, 99, 88 etc are all going to find a fold - but somehow I have the perfect hand to pay him off.

Obviously, now that the session is over I'm really happy that I get to play with people who play this poorly, but in the moment I just can't handle the stupidity.

I think you misread. That was my SB win rate, not my overall WR. I'm doing 13bb/100 overall, and my ev is 12.5 bb. But if you play a lot of poker, you know that running bad is not always represented in EV differences. I've had sessions where I run good and I'm still below EV, and vice versa.

Of course I'm not going to make money out of the SB. I'm not trying to and I'm not hoping to lol. Just trying to minimize losses out of SB

And don't worry man, you aren't busting my balls lol. Obviously I expect swings much worse than this. It just helps to vent my frustration here so that I don't dwell on it all session

Trying to work my way up through the micros starting with a $40 deposit at 2NL, and coming here to read about your variance helps put things into perspective when I start tilting at the micro micro stakes.

Keep up the good work OP and I look forward to seeing more winning sessions in the near future.

So apparently the new thing to do in 3bet pots is min raise the flop 90% of the time. I have about a dozen hands in the last 24 hours where I've had it happen. None reached showdown though, so I'm going to review the hands once I can see their hole cards. I'm expecting to see a lot of TPWK type hands, but I'll post a couple here once I find out

Tilted as **** this morning, and I haven't even played yet. I've spent the last 20 minutes searching through my hand history on Ignition, and literally every hand I tagged in my database for review has disappeared from Ignition's hand history. Every. Single. One. I have tons of hands in the HH, but none of the ones I wanted to review are in there. I've triple checked I'm looking them up correctly, and I tried looking up a few hands that I didn't tag and found them instantly.

From talking to other Ignition players, I know that it's a common problem for hands to go missing from their Ignition hand history. So I guess it's just a coincidence that all of my big hands go missing, and the ones I don't care about I can look up with ease? I ****ing hate this piece of **** software...
