Hiya, starting this thread to post my monthly goals and update on them. I think my biggest leak is motivation and volume, need to fix that pronto.

About me:
31 years old Peruvian that worked on advertising for years and got medical advice to stop working for a little while due to massive stress. Been interested in poker for years handing it as a hobby, used to play SNGs 18man back in the day but ditched them to live the salary man life.

I dont really like the idea of working for a big advertising company even tho salary can be huge, rather do what i really love doing (Atm that is playing poker) and improving so that someday i might be able to travel around the poker circuit with my gf, gain new experiences and find new places etc.

Also ex-progamer in League of Legends (Currently Diamond 2 in Latin America South server), play for fun but im starting to feel that its taking precious grinding time since every game is like 40-60 minutes.

Finally, been in the live poker scene here for some time (only a few casinos run poker here in Lima and some underground games), managed to be a winner at the 5/5 games and currently have a 20k BR to cover for expenses while i do this online adventure.

So, unto April's goals! (Hands will be mostly played in 3 tables of z25 and 9 tables of NL25, mostly zoom since we are on a learning process)

Poker:

[ ] 80k+ hands @ 25NL (Zoom + Regs, real challenge for me)

[ ] Use a stop-loss strategy when session goes wrong and tilt starts affecting my game.

[ ] Play 40 hours of Live Poker games. (5/5 games, any MTTs i decide to take a shot does not count in terms of hours)

[ ] Finish studying at least 1 of Zeros online courses i currently own (studying OOP as PFR atm)

[ ] Wake up 8-9am during weekdays.

Mental and Lifewise:

[ ] Get out of the house with my GF/friends once every 2 weeks, away from poker. Be with her twice a week at the very least.

[ ] Meditation 3 times a week using headspace.

[ ] Order fast food max 2 times a week.

[ ] Exercise 3 times a week.

will post some hands during the week, heres March graph! (NL25z and some reg tables hands). I know variance in zoom games is pretty stupid but im deciding to play most hands there because i feel like Online games atm are mostly for learning and improvement, while Live games are the money making game for me atm.

Forgot to mention, i am currently coached by a close friend who plays z100 so hopefully that helps me learn even faster!

Graph! (Some end of February hands and March)

gl guys.

Ty ty!

So, im having a situation here in terms of volume, today i played 3k hands only zoom tables but im pretty exhausted, which is weird. Generally im able to play League of Legends for hours and hours to go but i think ive played 4 hours in total today and i couldnt keep going.

Im not sure if it has something to do with food (i ate junk food today) or lack of exercise, any of you guys have any tips on how to get longer sessions going?

Neways, ended up winning a couple of bi, nothing great. Ill post some hands.

Good advice, i actually took a few breaks to walk around and went walking to the market at noon, felt more energy!

Today was a good day in terms of results but ive learned to take this with a grain of salt. I know variance in zoom games is difficult to handle so my main focus is making the best decisions in every spot and try to make as much volume as i can.

(Won 8bi in 2.5k hands today, again, its just variance)

Few hands!

Supposedly decent reg is letting me take him to value town but he suddenly pushes me away and gives me the middle finger. (imho i would fold pre to the 3bet).

Not sure on this one, since I have the most success when I play a lot of short sessions, never exceding 90 minutes. The few times when I play longer, I usually sit out from the tables for a few minutes each hour and do some exercise, mainly push ups.

I would add doing exercise in open air, especially getting sun exposure in the morning (must be a little difficult in Lima, last time I went there I spent almost 3 weeks and canīt remember seeing the sun lol). This really helps me to feel more energetic and improves my performance and endurance, not only in poker but in all my activities.

So, quick update on how things have been going on:

Live:
So far ive played 5/5 on two different locations. A casino close home that plays a standard game with few straddles and overall a lot of limping/passive playing and a Poker Club with a lot of aggressive degens playing straddle/double straddle a lot and overall gambling for a lot of money.

This last place i dont like going much because the games are pretty nuts and the club charges 6% uncapped rake per pot which is insane. Only reason i go is because of the massive whales that sometimes play, throwing away around 9-10bi a night. The casino on the other hand has more passive players and since i started this adventure my game has improved to the point that i can steamroll the pool without a problem except for a few decent regs that sometimes like to play back.

Cards havent been my way lately except for one good session at the casino that i completely destroyed everyone and even coolered a good reg on a 450bbs pot AAvsQQ. Rest of the games have been boring, stealing pots but not hitting many hands. Heres the summary.

(Up 1.8bi so far overall, BR around 20k)

Last session i was up 400 and then this hand happened:

Folded to me on the BTN and i make it 15 with KdQd, SB calls, good reg that i coolered the night before 3bets to 55, i call, SB folds.

Ks3c7c, he cbets 50, i call.

Turn Jd, he checks, i check.

River 8c, he tanks then bets 200.

Clubs got there, hes aggro and decent so i would assume he would double barrel the draw, hes a little spazzy when someone plays passive against him so i felt like my hand was good enough to call the 80% bet he made.

I call,

"Justice!" he shouted, then showed 88 proudly.

I recalled saying "ouch, oh well, nice hand, well played buddy", and then spent the rest of the night folding because of being completely card dead, boo.

Neways enough ranting, hopefully ill start hitting some good sessions in the near future but i cant really complain, im up overall and the month just started.

Online:

So, since my last update ive been running pretty good, i wanna think its fair since i spent 60k hands Breakeven but i must admit that half of those hands i was leaking everywhere and was not aware of a lot of things that im aware of now. Coaching has been super important and im pushing myself to check most hands that i have doubts and work a few spots with PIO.

Funny thing, ive been running terrible in reg tables in which im still breaking even after 15k hands (irrelevant sample tho), most of my winnings come from Zoom games.

As always, i take this upswing with caution and confidence that im improving but i know that a 20bi downswing next 20k hands is perfectly normal for zoom games, my mental game will be tested and i need to be ready for the challenge.

Graph so far in NL25:
