Thanks dude, definitely a fun sunday grind. I also took 13th in 109k sunday special on ignition, so I had a lot of deep runs, just couldn't close one out. ridiculous field sizes in most though

Stars is much more difficult, even the tournaments. A $22 on stars plays like a $109 on ignition imo. Still, I love the massive fields and huge gt's, and there are still a lot of fish and a lot of regs who don't know what they're doing.

I started smoking again last Tuesday I met up with jdawg for some beers, which is not a good idea when I'm trying not to smoke - I never drink without smoking. Ran up to San Diego for an ounce the next day. I took 2 days entirely off smoking, and 3 days before that I smoked about 1/4 of what I usually do, so it was a solid 5 days of cutting back heavily. Feeling less lethargic now - even though I'm back to smoking every day, I'm smoking half as much and not as constantly.

I just gotta remember not to get so stoned before I go out and do ****: I locked my only car key in my trunk at the grocery store in Rosarito by accident, and it was definitely because I smoked a joint on the way to the store. Had to hit up jdawg to see if he knew anyone who could help me out. Luckily his mechanic rolled up 10 minutes later and got me into my trunk in less than 15 minutes. stoner problems man

Anyway, back to poker. Put in 1.1k of volume in mtt's yesterday and 1200 hands. Today looking to do around 2k hands and $300-500 in mtt volume.

I'm revising my weekly goals. The main difference is I won't be making any kind of weekly goal in regards to zoom volume. It's by far my lowest hourly and highest stress game type, so I'll only be playing it when I get the urge or when I want to crank out a few k hands really quick after studying.

Weekly Goals

10k hands Bovada (200-500nl)
$4k in tournament buyins
Run at least 10 miles
Spend less than $100 per week (rent/utilities already paid)

This volume should allow me to make 9-10k/month

The $50/week spending goal was way too ambitious. I could do it, but I can't go out to eat or drink at all. $100 will still be tough but it's more realistic

Ran bad in the $55 30k and was down to 9/9 by the time I made the FT. Managed to hang on for 5th for about $2k.

The $16.5 5k I made it headsup with exactly the same chip stack as my opponent. He was pretty good and he made me make a few mistakes that I'm not happy about. Didn't run great either and took 2nd for $900.

Also mincashed a hot $55, min cashed the $200 30k on ignition, and mincashed a Bounty builder $33 + 2 bounties, so yesterday was pretty good for tournaments.

Cash games were up and down, but I had some spew I'm not proud of. still think V is completely braindead, but I gotta focus on value owning these types

Never paid super close attention to BR management to be honest. I have ~150 buyins for my main stake (200nl). My avg tournament buyin on stars will be ~$20-30, so I'll have over 1k buyins for that. Ignition avg buyin is $100, so only 300 buyins, but the fields are smaller and softer so it doesn't concern me. When I'm running bad in tournaments I just cut out higher buyin events until I recover.

Move to America lol

Lost $600 in cash over 2400 hands yesterday. Day before I played 3300 hands and won 1k. been playing 9-12 hour sessions, no breaks.

Another garbage day. 1knl 9max ran again, super juicy again, and I got crushed again. lost $1500 in like 100 hands then the table broke. broke even at 500nl, and I was breaking even at 200nl until my last hand where I got it all with kk vs aa for that final gut punch of variance.

Tournaments

Ignition: cashed 0/8
-$2000

Pokerstars: cashed 9/28 (0 final tables)
-$150 ($900 volume)

lost every flip deep. not much else to say. ****ty weekend. taking monday off like usually, then back to the grind. no 1knl until the br recovers a bit

Obv the ignition tourneys are crazy soft but imo it'd be smart to sell to the $450 or other big ones with a 30kish roll. There's a handful of them a year and bricking them can have a big impact on your year and you could sell with markup and print some of that edge variance free and still keep a big chunk of yourself for the times you run good. Personal preference but just something to keep in mind as it can be easy to underestimate how much frustration will be added when you have a bad run in those on the side of your regular grind. gl turning the downer around!

Today is my first day without weed. I was tilted as **** all day at everything tbh. Felt way foggier and less focused while playing too. After a few days I'll be back to normal. It's been 3 years since I took more than a day off smoking*, but from what I remember it takes about a week to feel completely normal.

*funny story: when I got my wisdom teeth out a year ago they said I couldn't smoke for 3-5 days, longer if possible. Got back from surgery day 1 and I couldn't resist the urge, but I didn't want to pull my stitches out and get a dry socket. So I rolled a joint and smoked it through my nose. I put some gauze over the sockets in my mouth, put the joint up to one nostril, closed the other one, and boom I was smoking without using my mouth. Hurt like a ****ing *****, and I ended up smoking normally on day 3 and giving myself a dry socket anyway (horrible ****ing pain, not worth the joint, but it did get me an extra week of painkillers )

so yeah, I have a bit of a weed problem haha. Smoking basically 24/7 for years isn't healthy and I don't plan on returning to that habit

and thanks man, appreciate that

Personal preference but just something to keep in mind as it can be easy to underestimate how much frustration will be added when you have a bad run in those on the side of your regular grind. gl turning the downer around!
yeah, probably would be smart. never bothered because I don't have a huge sample to show people, so I figured I wouldn't be able to sell action easily. It is what it is though - I go into those $450's knowing there's a possibility I brick every single one in 2018 since there's what, 4-5 a year? just checked and I actually did brick them all this year lol, not a single min cash even. looking forward to a better 2019

Overall I don't like selling action - I love the thrill of playing for big money too much to only be playing for a % of it. That's why I play tournaments. I almost consider Sunday a day off because I could probably earn more money playing cash games and only the highest value mtt's, but I have a lot more fun firing off 30+ mtt's and hoping for some run good.

Put in almost 10k hands, 3k in tournaments volume, and 3 miles running. Gotta up the tournament volume and definitely need to be running more, but I'm off to a good start after basically taking 3 months off.

Decided to grind Pokerstars reg cash tables today. Original plan was to 12 table: 8 stars 100nl, 4 ignition 200nl. Had a hectic first 30 minutes and decided to scale back to just 9 stars tables, no ignition. That worked really well. After a few sessions I should be able to add ignition tables for a 12ish table grind.

Put in 3k hands at 100nl on pstars, +6 buyins. After what I've heard about stars I was amazed at how soft the games are. Didn't encounter a single reg playing well postflop imo

Some interesting hands, especially the last one:

This guy had major MUBS. unfortunately he was right lol

It's 1300/mo, 2bed/2bath. The amenities are great: hot tub, sauna, indoor pool, outdoor infinity pool, nice size gym, movie theatre, and basketball/tennis/bocce courts

Still getting pictures on the walls and stuff so I'll post more pics down the road. Thanks, gl to you too
