played a 9 hour 5/10 session at commerce last night. table next to me hit the bbj for ~1700 each table share, and 24/12k to the loser/winner I think. AA vs KK and they almost chopped the pot pre because it was in the blinds. KK said chop, AA who always chops says no I don't wanna chop this time (lol) and so KK says alright and raises.

The whole session I was distracted as **** though. It's so rare for there to be a good looking 20 something at the table, so I wasn't thinking much about poker. I had other goals in mind. He even seemed like he could be interested, which is rare. Kept catching him looking my way, smiling a lot at me, winked at me when he bluffed someone, etc. then when I racked up he insta racked up too, didn't even play his button. It was just before 2:30 AM at this point

We talked a bit over at the cage and then walked out to the parking lot. We ended up having a ~2hr conversation by his car. by the time I got to my car it was 5AM. subject of dating comes up at some point, I mention I'm gay, he's cool with it but says he's 100% straight (anytime someone says the 100% line it's a huuuuuuge tell that they're curious). but the conversation carries on at least another hour after that, with him keeping it going for the most part.

at one point there was a bit of lull and he says, "soooo... do you wanna...." as he's shifting uncomfortably looking at his car. "...give me your instagram?" we both know that's not what you wanted to ask...

Why do you think a guy in that situation is trying to play it off like they're straight and uninterested when it's just the two of you and no one else around. Especially when it seems clear he prob intends to hook up with you later.

Put very simply and without getting into it too much, I think a lot of guys are so conditioned by their upbringing/society to be straight and "macho"/"alpha" that any feelings of attraction to another guy genuinely scares them. So even if they aren't worried about someone around hearing, and even if they know I'm gay and don't have to worry about my reaction, they have internal conflict admitting to themselves that their feelings are real. I went through the same thing, but I got over it and pretty much accepted I was gay by 14
