Playing PS and Iggy at the same time might not be possible for me. Have to use entirely different strategies. 100z my redline is positive and climbing. 500nl my red line plummets like the challenger, yet I'm crushing. Hard to implement a super aggressive overbluffing strat while also playing a fairly aggressive value-oriented strat. There's spots I'm bluffing on PS and the same spot on Iggy would be a value bet lmao

this is why you don't bluff on iggy. can't even fold their bluffs out

3betting flops and turns is something new I'm working into my game. Up until I started playing Stars I never 3bet a flop or turn, ever. OOP I think it's especially useful. So many people, even "regs", are min clicking it back for info or some ****

why, because I stopped smoking weed and started punting buy ins? lmao

Thanks for the gl. Didn't have much of it today. Bricked a dozen tournaments and lost 1.5 buyins at 200nl over 700 hands, lost 1 buyin at 500nl over 200 hands.

Sober poker feels ****ing weird man. I can't focus at all, I tilt easily, and I can't seem to think as quickly or intuitively about complex spots. I think it'll wear off once I've had a few days off the weed, but if not...

Do you light up while actually playing or just during quick breaks? I guess it's unique to each person but damn I could never play poker high. I think I'd struggle to even remember who the PFR was let alone make any remotely complex decisions.

I had a full post typed out about whether you thought playing the two sites simultaneously was of benefit and if the improvements you'll make from Stars is worth the cut in hourly. Given the anon nature of Ignition it feels like optimal strats would differ massively and hinder your playing on Stars and vice versa.

My routine has varied, but yeah always smoked before I play and while I play. At one point I was rolling up a joint at 9 AM before I started my session, then every 2 hours while playing I would roll another one and smoke it, no break. Usually 6-7 joints a day, and not small ones. Lately it's been cut back to just taking bong rips, so I've only been smoking 2ish grams a day. Still a lot though.

I actually started playing poker as something to do while I got stoned. I'd fire up a $5 betonline mtt, blaze up, and have a great night playing cards. Never really played or studied poker sober because I've been generally blazed the past few years haha. If you aren't used to the effects of weed it's not good for poker, and even if you're used to it it's definitely no performance enhancer. Though it does help with tilt and grinding out a lot of volume.

Yeah, I think the strat is so different between stars and ignition that playing them simultaneously won't be as +ev as picking one. Honestly, right now it's kind of an ego thing for me. I don't think it takes any skill to beat the games I've played in up to this point - stars is different. If I can grind out a 100k+ winning sample at 200z, or even 100z, I would feel really good about my poker game. Right now I feel kinda like a sun running donk tbh

I do think playing stars will improve my overall game a lot - whether it's worth the temporary sacrifice in hourly is a good question. At the moment I don't really care about my hourly - in terms of life expenses I'm set through 2019. So I'd like to focus on improving my game and proving to myself I'm actually a good poker player who can compete at the highest level

Ughhhh no way. I hate tobacco. Usually I'd weigh out 0.8 grams of sticky cali medicinal, grind it and roll that **** up. The rolling is slightly distracting while playing, but not smoking. we call tobacco+weed a spliff btw. or a blunt if it's only weed but rolled in a tobacco leaf

Today is my first day without weed. I was tilted as **** all day at everything tbh. Felt way foggier and less focused while playing too. After a few days I'll be back to normal. It's been 3 years since I took more than a day off smoking*, but from what I remember it takes about a week to feel completely normal.

*funny story: when I got my wisdom teeth out a year ago they said I couldn't smoke for 3-5 days, longer if possible. Got back from surgery day 1 and I couldn't resist the urge, but I didn't want to pull my stitches out and get a dry socket. So I rolled a joint and smoked it through my nose. I put some gauze over the sockets in my mouth, put the joint up to one nostril, closed the other one, and boom I was smoking without using my mouth. Hurt like a ****ing *****, and I ended up smoking normally on day 3 and giving myself a dry socket anyway (horrible ****ing pain, not worth the joint, but it did get me an extra week of painkillers )

so yeah, I have a bit of a weed problem haha. Smoking basically 24/7 for years isn't healthy and I don't plan on returning to that habit

and thanks man, appreciate that

Yeah I reckon I've had under 5 cigarettes in my life but 100+ cigarettes worth of tobacco through spliffs. A joint here is the same as a spliff, blunts are just weed. I guess it's what you're used to but I don't like the taste of blunts as much. I think 0.8g of medicinal weed in one spliff would put me out for the count haha.

That story is nuts haha, fk that. Good to see you're cutting down though, should hopefully see benefits before long.

After a break I'm hoping a nice 0.8g joint puts me on my ass like it used to haha. Never been a fan of the taste of a spliff. My friend I used to live with loves spliffs and I would rarely even hit it when he rolled one up. I don't even like blunts anymore, just straight weed.

Yeah, I should wake up feeling pretty great tomorrow. I already want to make that drive up to LA for some daaaaank but the longer I wait the better it will be. If I just take 1 or 2 days off I'll be back to smoking all day every day pretty quickly - been there done that multiple times. I can smoke every night - just gotta get my **** done first and not rely on it.

Might take a few days off the grind, because playing poker really makes me want to smoke. Gunna see how it goes

When I stop smoking I have this brain fog I can pretty much feel it in my temple. The feeling is like extra blood pressure on my brain. I use
l-theanine/green tea which makes me less aggravated/lucid. U should try it out. I think mixing it in your coffee before grinding is +ev regardless but cant imagine being without it while detoxing from heavy amounts of dank.

take 500mg with some b vitamins and call me in the morning(evening)

Everyone always says this, but for me it's the total opposite. I usually get the craziest dreams every night, but when I stop smoking I don't dream at all for at least a week.

But yeah, T breaks suck. Stayed up late though and I was shocked that I was able to fall asleep right away. Usually takes me a couple hours to fall asleep if I don't have any weed

Camomile tea relax you a bit, obv it isn't substitute for weed but it can be decent while not smoking. I's the tea I like the most, really good to drink.before sleeping.

Maybe it's a good idea to drink it while you're reducing the weed you take.

Thanks, I've tried it but it didn't do much for me. I also really hate the taste of any tea for some reason.

I probably should've tried to taper off, but I went from smoking 2-3 grams a day to 0. Gunna stick to less than a gram a day when I start again
