Played a smallish session last night to get back into the swing of things. Felt I played my A game the entire session so was pleased with that. Wasn't rewarded with any deep runs, but felt great to be back on the grind. Got in a full session today (50 games) and managed to close one out for the first ship of 2015. Also FT'd the mickey mouse 5r on FTP (8th).



Hopefully the first of many! Gonna take 'er easy tonight and watch the Ravens get crushed by the Steelers

Had a bunch of decent stacks going yesterday, but they all seemed to fizzle out in the end. It's never a bad Sunday when only stuck a few hundred though, so can't complain. Cashed a few 215s (top of my bi) helped the blow a bit and came 90th~ in the phase 2. Busted that in a ridic pot b v b AA<Q9o for what certainly was a cl stack at the time. There's always next Sunday

Gonna play another full session today and put in 5-6 hrs of study tomorrow. Have a bunch of runs I want to go through and need to catch up on a few training vids. Gotta keep putting work in!

haha, I can't help myself sometimes. That was an interesting spot, I disagree though I think I can have some 7s (67, 78, 79, 7T) + QJ's in my range. Had too many tables up to respond at the time. Either way I'm never checking back there otr with J high Best of luck bro, see you on the battlefield!



I usually just go through my pool of marked hands that were close spots and calc out the numbers to check out what ranges are profitable (and how profitable they are) in certain situations. Also watch as many training vids as I can and run through deep runs with other grinders. hmu if you want to review sometime!

Had some runs today, but no finish. Felt I was losing a bit of focus half way through my session which was rather annoying. Maybe made a few mistakes that cost me some equity/stacks. Was able to get back on track when I had a few runs going, but can't let that loss of focus happen ever as it can be way too costly. Probably was a result of playing 5 long days in a row, but still... no excuses, that can't happen! So even though not my strongest day performance wise, was still able to put a few runs together and gain back that focus when it counted!

Have a lot of stuff to review tomorrow that will keep me busy. Plan on getting in 6 hrs of review and lax a bit. Wednesday I'm going to get in my first live cash session. Nice thing about where I live, there are 4 casinos within 45 min of my house. There's one that's 5 min away that is right beside where the Calgary Flames play (NHL team) and there's a home game for them Wednesday night. Should be packed with rowdy/drunk fans after game, so hopefully I can find a nice juicy table to jump on We'll see how it goes!

gl rob subbed! How do you deal with quitting your job with stable income which I assume is pretty high for the title I read on OP? Does the variance of MTT stress you out and how do you handle bills since living is Calgary is pretty expensive?

Well I was fortunate enough to bink the $320 WHG for 30k like a month after I left my job which was nice. Just was sick of where I was/who I was working for and wanted to give poker a shot instead of just grinding weekends. Been grinding ever since! I do have savings/investments that help keep me afloat during the swingy months, so no worries really. Just have to keep working hard and good things will come.
