I played a few sessions to close out the year

11.5hrs +50
10.5hrs -2350
11:30 +3160
1hr -100

Finished the month with 196hrs and $8860 in profit. Not bad for starting on the ninth

For the year I played 1100hrs with $32k in profit, 95% of hours at 2/5.

I made most of my money in the first few months, lost a bunch and didn't recover until recently.

2017 should be much better

Monthly results- hours and profit

Jan- 243 hours and $3490
Feb- 146 hours and $11605
Mar- 186 hours and $8117
April- 27 hours and -$4392
May- 5 hours and -$191
June- 73 hours and -$130

July- 23 hours and -$250
August- ????

between July and August I played 120hours and made about $3200 but I dont have the sessions logged

Sept- 57 hours and -$729
Oct- 21 hours and $1939
Nov- 2 hours and $65
Dec- 196 hours and $8663

Ended the year with 980 hours of 2/5 and about 130hours of other games like 1/2 1/3 some PLO and some 5/10

In my opinion I failed this challenge. I spent thousands of dollars on cars, alcohol, going out, and I didn't play enough hours.

for 2017 I need to play 1500 hours minimum and aim for a 8bbhr winrate, and I am going to keep track of all my expenses via excel spreedsheets.

thanks for reading everyone who did- next challenge will be better

I got a used car and ended up paying probably $15k over the course of six months and then I traded her in for $2.5k

I spent literally thousands of dollars drinking alcohol and smoking weed.

I spent literally thousands of dollars loaning money to friends and ****. I spent a ton on vacations and poker trips, and all kinds of other things.

My goals in 2017 will be to eat out much less, drink/smoke less, date less (dating killed my wallet this year) and not loan any money to anyone.

I had a bit in medical expenses last year, but I seem to have almost cured one of the problems. Theres still a bit more to go, and physical therapy isnt cheap.

I would say my biggest expenses that I can cut down are

food at casino
going out drinking/smoking
bad investments/business decisions

Regarding the car, how much of that $15k was payments vs how much was car repair?

Definitely cut down the drinking. I'd also cut out the loaning money..although with your spending habits it's likely you will need a loan sometime as well.

$6k was the cars purchase price, with insurance registration and hella repairs it was alot of money. $9k additional might be a tad high but not by much. There was at least $5k in repairs and parts though. Getting a five hundred to a thousand dollar repair bill every month is HORRIBLE

Luckily this year I only had one person go bad on a loan and it was a girl I was dating...figures.

Everyone else has been on top of things and usually give me something good in return.

What year/model car was that? How many miles did it have? Sounds like you probably got unlucky with that one.

I bought an 06 Porsche Boxster with 110k miles on it and fortunately haven't had any problems with it. I probably should have paid a mechanic to look at it before I bought it though. Next time I'll probably buy a car with well under 100k miles just in case.
