Of course not, nobody has claimed that either.

What people are saying is that you are pretty detached from reality if you truly think you are a professional poker player living without running expences at your moms house for more than 1 year straight. 6Bet is clearly not.

The definition of a professional in any area, is that you are supporting yourself through what you are doing. You are not doing that when you cant afford to have your own apartment or your own car, and have to take your wife with you and move in with mommy because you simply cant afford running expences.

Sure, 6b can say it but he said it with his chest expecting to be taken seriously while being an absolute joke.

Degenerate attempts to be a professional poker player and makes $20k+ in ~2 months while living at his mom's house with his wife but still fails in spectacular fashion.

Friendly and smart mid 20’s Aussie gets crushed by degens after every update for not living his life/approaching the grind the way each poaster wants their kids or horse to.

If someone can show me any evidence of op being 'smart' please post because I ain't seen it.

I'd also substitute "friendly" with "naive." Every "friend" OP seems to have just routinely takes advantage of him.

Having a really bad downswing immediately after setting poker goals.

Summarising this thread in one sentence is a disservice to the great ups and downs we’ve had over the past 2-3 years.

Honest question - you think the effort he put in was worthy of praise? Saying you're going to do something in and of itself isn't deserving of congratulations. Guy does seem nice enough as a person which is why I suspect most here hope he does eventually find his path in life.

26 year old lives with his mom and tries to play poker for a living but epicly fails due to a mixture of terrible mental game, vastly over-estimating his abilities, moving up in stakes when he has a losing session, overspending on needless rubbish in real life and sending thousands of dollars overseas to his wife's family in Thailand.

No, it’s not worthy of praise. That doesn’t mean it’s worthy of hate either. 6bet has no obligation to listen to the advice in this thread so I don’t see how not doing so is deserving of hate.

It seems as if his approach was to document his journey and give himself a reason to be accountable- in addition to an extra source of motivation. Nothing worth bashing him over. He never hurt anyone itt.

Would people say the same things to him irl to his face?

I love this line of argument, yes. I imagine the vast majority of people would say exactly the same thing to him irl.

Op live mid stakes Euchre might be a better game to play. Teach the wife how to play and you have a partner who you can study with 5 hours a week. Play 10 hours a week and clear $2000 a week. Won't be able to do it atm in victoria but take $3000 and play once it opens again.

Of course not, that's the whole point of the internet

Accountable. So if he says he's going to play 40 hours, actually plays 4, it would be expected for this to be called out? That's what accountability is. Would I tell him to his face that spending a couple of hours a week on a new career, any career but in this case playing poker, isn't enough and he needs to put more effort in? Hell yes and his "friends" irl should have been doing the same. Is what he did worthy of hate? Of course not. On the other hand if someone says "I'm going to be a pro player, last week I put a grand total of 2 hours effort in" the general response is going to be something along the lines of "you're taking the piss, right?"

I was more so referencing the hate and negativity than anything else. Which was very prevalent. Anyone who rationalizes that has problems far worse than 6bet imo.

But I agree completely wrt accountability. Friends tell you what you need to hear, not what you want to hear.

At some point it’s less constructive and more so just piling on. Some people are into that though.

Also, (not referring to the criticism here once again- but the hate and negativity), I’m highly skeptical that any decent human being is calling people pathetic, a failure, etc. irl.

Well that's because many people hide what they truly think in real life because it's often in their self interest to do so. On anonymous internet message boards, there's none of that, so you're more likely to hear what people really think.

This thread gave OP an honest self assessment of his abilities and work ethic. That's not something that anyone in real life would have told him.

You can still appreciate a person even if they don't excel in life. He's always been nice in my thread. One of the very few tbh. So much trash on 2+2. Pretty convinced 90% of the high talking advice givers never even beat 10NL.

Trying and failing is a lesson in itself.

I hope he didn't listen to any advice in this thread. I'm pretty comfortable in saying that ignoring all advice given on 2+2 will give you much better results.

This thread is the weirdest of places where every few days people state how hard nl10 or something is.

OP is a broke degenerate with a few grand to his name and no plan to fix this, but we get people telling him to ignore advice telling him to get a job or finish school. It doesn't matter if you play nl2 or 2k, it's not hard to see this.

He is broke in a way of life while his bankroll for once shows 5 figs right in this second. I'd say it's def 4 figs now as some days have passed.
