Well March went by quickly.

I'd set out to change my sleep schedule but got thrown off one day in by this thread:
https://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/7...your-life-787/

Would highly recommend it for anyone that hasn't seen it yet. Warning: don't start it after midnight. I'm going to sleep now but have a lot to say tomorrow.

Quick question to anyone still around, what would you think about some kind of semi regular vlog or podcast? I'm considering logging the process** of the projects I work on and maybe some of the personal aspects of my life. Any interest? I'm debating whether to attach it to this blog or not as it would eliminate my anonymity.

**I really mean the process, there aren't any video sources for the nuts and bolts of business and while i'm not an expert I think learning by way of example and reflection would be useful for some to watch rather than wantrepreneur porn, 10x conference clips etc

I think there would be a huge audience for you vlogging or podcasting; your audience would consist of both:

1. People who work in business/entrepreneurship and enjoy watching this type of content

2. Business noobs like myself who want to get into it, are interested in it, but want to learn more about it.

...amongst others!

Plus you’re extremely insightful and reflective, I think that would add a cool element. I would definitely look forward to it. I feel like this sector is just so full of bullsh*t artists, it would be really enjoyable to see a genuine pod/vlog.

I second what oladipo said. I own 2 residential properties and 1 commercial property outright. 1 of them is my home that I live in though so it’s not an income, just equity. I used to be insanely driven but lost it 3 years ago. Burnout is real. I think poker messed me up in some regard as well. I grew up poor and worked crazy hard for the money I made. Then when I started playing 5/10, winning or getting smacked for 2k on any given day distorted my perception of $. I’m doing good for someone in their early thirties though.

You remind me of myself in your regard of understand how powerful having $ is, yet almost disdain the fact that most of our lives is spent chasing money. At what point does it turn on you. At what point is business more important than a wife or kids or social life. The almighty green paper with numbers printed on it.

Tony Robbins can say “life is more than $” and everybody is like wow he’s so insightful and awesome. But if a poor person said the same thing people would be like stfu loser go back under the bridge you came out of.

Yea i'd have to balance the different types of content, unsure whether that would be in separate videos or if I'd do a daily vlog and have it in a similar order each time.

I'm also not an expert at business so I don't want it to be educational right off the bat, more something that logs what I'm doing and has lessons along the way as I learn them.

You're right that the competition is minimal for legit people.

RE: Fellowship, yes my value of the $$ is extremely distorted right now but i'm still motivated despite that. I'm process oriented not $$ oriented. One of my players that I have 25% of binked a high roller online for 29k and I was happier for him than for me.

I like the idea of a daily vlog or at least as frequently as I can manage and then if it picks up steam I'd do it more religiously.

Hi guys, long time no talk. I've been really busy working on my various projects -- doing commentary for the Galfond challenge, coaching, managing the players I back and launching stakerhub.com being the primary ones. For the latter, if anyone is able to put us in contact with a backer that we haven't spoken with yet we're willing to give $20 for the referral and $50 if we close a sale.

For any backers, you can check out a demo video of our tool here: >link<

Also we are taking applications for players (mostly PLO cash) to be staked, can drop me a PM if interested.

At the tables I've won about 14k from trough in the last month although am taking it slowly. Highlight of that grind being a guy open folding in position in a 4bet pot on 972dd spr .4 without having his timebank run out & folding next hand so you know it was intentional.

Hey guys, long time no see. After some deliberation I decided against making a Vlog series but that doesn't mean I have to be absent entirely : -)
This has been a hell of a year so far, meeting tons of new people, tackling interesting problems, growing relationships and getting to travel around to see old friends.
Despite a market crash and Covid, we're still chugging along. Thankfully we're all part of an industry that expanded during Covid-- only 4% of small businesses were that lucky.

Some recent highlights for us are:
Reaching our one year mark for backing and affiliating
My partner and I growing a community with our players and then building and launching a backing management tool at Stakerhub.com
Reaching a point where my partner can work exclusively on our projects

There needs to be some redirection for Stakerhub's future but it feels great to get to at least a 1.0 out and have customers trialing it
We're still pushing forward with two other niche tech products. On Jan 1 this year I made a goal to have one customer/client for each of them
+ Stakerhub by the end of the year and it looks like we'll be able to make that happen as long as we continue at our current trajectory.

In the last few months I started making PLO content for Runitonce and moonlighted as a commentator for their Galfond challenge.
I'm excited to announce that I'll be teaming up with Henry Kilbane and doing some specialty streams working with Vision for Runitonce's viewerbase.
If you've enjoyed the streams so far and are going to start using Vision, please do hit us up for our affiliate link so Henry and I can get some love

I just got my next two months of housing sorted out-- a lot of my friends have recommended staying mobile while personally
I can't wait to attach myself to a location and stabilize. I do think they're right tho so for now I'm keeping it fast and loose.
This has been a recurring theme of the blog- whether to be a digital nomad or set up shop somewhere. It seems that when I have one, I want the other. Maybe that's just human nature.
For now at least while Covid throws a wrench in any long term planning, I'll stick to short term rentals. My next two months are set and I'll just focus on my own work till they're up.

Going forward I've got to maintain managing our businesses and have some growth work for our tech products but that doesn't mean I need to stay away from the felt.
I've got until the 24th of this month to hunker down and put in some solid work (before driving 30 hours to Florida). So while my riding solo poker days are behind me, I'm still going to take this thread back to its roots and have a small challenge for myself to help give me a target to shoot for.

I've got ten full days till I spend father's day with my dad & brother and then I'll still be able to put in partial hours till the 24th.
So on the docket I've got:
No nicotine
No alcohol by myself
Running 4 days/week
Sleeping before 3am
Poker: Volume goal of 65 hours
Work: Maintenance + predetermined growth work

I've been doing a decent amount of coaching for both my players and others which eats into my time as well but the key to all of this is time management.
Juggling all of this is going to be a real challenge as I've been slacking recently on the poker side to facilitate the rest of it but I'm going to do my best to hit the 65 hour target.

If I manage to do all of these then I'm going to be very pleased with myself. Once I'm set up in Florida on the 27th I've got a 5 week airbnb with two developers to work hard/play hard
so there will be another chapter of this after I'm settled in.

As a small note for the veteran readers, I realize I'm more or less doxxing myself by talking about some of these projects and at this point I'm at peace with that.
Please just don't write my name here so it avoids being indexed on google-- thanks and much love.

So that's a wrap, I'll try to throw daily updates in here along with some hands and the P&L along the way.

Not posting that here intentionally, training academy was my last RIO vid if you look under elite plo.

Got in 6.5 hours today at -400** forgot some movement of funds
10.5/65
+4.4k

Happy with the volume so far. Had a few tough spots.
One interesting hand: HU I pot J863ds call 100bb eff 742r x 75% 2.1x raise call, 2o x 40% he raises to 2.5x and I have to fold. Figured he was over x/f ott but then he got in a really profitable rebluff. Felt pretty owned tbh

Had some good hands like Pot btn AQ25hh get 3b from straddle 1.8k eff flat 965r x 1/3 call 3hh x 60% fold.

And Sb pots I flat bb JT84ccc A84cc 60% call 2o 70% call Ao 50% I raise to like 2.4x and get the fold.

Puts me at 15/65
+9.3k
Good start !

Had a really nice trip this weekend and got some volume in before & after. 7:45 more since I last updated for +10.5k between the sessions.

Had some awkward spots like having to 3b/stack off for 50bb with QJ67ds BB v MP and KQT4ds Btn v CO.

That puts me at 22:45/65
+19.8k
Bink

I have 9 days for 42 hours and have a decent amount of obligations during that time. I think it's unlikely i'll hit the 65 hours but it is just a target to hit at the end of the day & I made it because I've got so much to do all the time. So it's doing its job imo. Pretty nice upswing

Played a small amount, spent most of my time working on other things. I won't be hitting the 65 hour target but so it goes.

I played 2.5 hrs today and won 2.9k so I'm at 25:15/65
+22.7k

Was up a lot more at one point but lost it back.

Had some absolute violence tonight. Went from +3 to -7 right off the bat and pulled through 3 hours later to finish at +10.5k.

I had a really interesting spot against a nit where I limp/call, x/r A563hh sb v bb on Q85hh 6o ott x x 5h otr and I checked. I assume he will b/3b most of his QQ and at least half of his 88 but i'm blocking the dominant river calling hand. Don't think I get called by too much besides KKhh & KQhh which he ended up having. Would have felt super gross b/f river but I think I'm supposed to. Hinges on how much 88 he b/3b I think.

Anyway that puts me at 28:15/65
+33.2k

Quite the heater huh

Played quite well last night but had some mean reversion that was long overdue.

-9.8k in 3:15 puts me at 31:30/65
+23.4k

Donk pot->x/shipped turn on K874dd in a 3b pot with nut wrap+fd and got called for stacks spr 3.5 by naked AK4 :O then lost both rivers. And lost with QQT8dd on JT4dd in a 4bet pot where spr 3.5 I lead flop bet/called turn vs AKJhh on JT4dd6hh and he hit twice. Losing both of those both times was the majority of the losses and had to happen eventually.
Pretty happy with how I played.

What do you think are the benefits of using Vision compared to Monker?

Digging the updates too.

What site/app are you playing on that lets you run it twice?

Has 10/20 been your main stake lately?

Somewhere on the internet far far away..
I've been averaging a BB of like $9 but am ripping in some big games.

Thanks bro appreciate it. Let runitonce know you like it and you might see me more
It's way easier to use but much more limited, I personally like the tradeoff.

Smashed out today starting with a vision stream then getting decent progress on three of our projects while putting in 7:15 over the last 2 days and binking 12k. I'd call that a success.
