Tired of being a degen for all my 20s, gonna make some changes in my life and try to improve myself. I have some big dreams and I don't want to throw all my potential away. This humble little thread is just here to keep myself accountable. This is my redemption arc.

I have a list of things i gotta fix, first thing first is my sleep schedule, gonna try to be able to consistently sleep early and wake up early. This is important so that I can get **** done and wake up in time to make my classes. Health will be a priority and I'm going to need to make some big adjustments. I also injured my knee and might surgery for it, but for now I'm sticking with weekly physio (expensive) for now.

I might elaborate more on my core schedule in the future, but for now I have a few things in mind:

1. Daily Physio - follow my prescribe routine daily, this is going to be difficult but i need to keep my determination up

2. Hooping - Handles workout 5 times a week, Shooting work out 5 times a week, not sure about competitive play until i improve the condition of my knee, hopefully weekly or fortnightly private training

3. Gymming and dieting - haven't determined my schedule yet, but my BMI and body fat% is sh*t currently, im gonna have some goals for that

3. Finish my degree (even though i hate it and won't use it when i graduate)

Now for the poker part, this is, afterall, a poker thread on a poker forum:

1. Grinding 6 max on GG, just transitioned from HU to 6 max and I'm testing out the strategy that I spent several month working on, so I'll be playing lower stakes than I'm used to until I can build up my confidence in implementing the strategy - 7hr/wk min, this will be further increase in the future depending on my life schedule

2. Trying to stay sharp in my HU skills with resources such as vids, sims, notes, discord and training softwares among others, while weekly - 3hr/wk min

3. Grind live poker, mainly MTT but also some cash - 10hr/week min, this is my bread and butter for easy profits and the money goes towards crypto investments and daily expenditure

4. Coaching sessions, this is for extra income and also refreshing concepts I worked on myself - 2hr/wk min

This is a hefty schedule to start with, but I'll make adjustments along the way to see what's working for me and what's not

I worked on handling drills today, but was incomplete with my workout (had to leave the courts early), played a live mtt today but unfortunately bubbled. My aim for tmmr is to continue with my workout, do a coaching session, go to physio, play a live mtt, enrol in my course for the semester and try to limit my calorie intake (no carbs)

Wasn't able to do the workout today because I couldn't wake up in time for the court to be available but will def be able to get a long workout tmmr. Coaching session also got delayed to tmmr. Played the live mtt, did my physio and enrolled in my uni courses (but might have to drop one or two later depending on schedule and workload). Wasn't able to limit my calorie intake today because I got too hungry from starving myself earlier in the day. Tmmr I will have the ball workout, watch the suns game (taking notes), do my coaching session and go to the cas to get free comp dollars for food.

Student called in sick, so coaching session is off. Did get the work out I wanted to but got around 40 minutes of shooting practice. Will have to pick it up in the weekend to make up for the week. Managed to get to the cas just in time to redeem my comp dollars and will be able to not spend my cash on food for the rest of the month at least. Other than ball practice, not sure what my plans are tmmr, will buy a new computer and sign up for a hoops training facility.

Managed to get signed up for the hoops facility and bought a new laptop, a MSI gaming laptop with pretty top of the line specs. But didn’t manage to get in my hoops practice today so I will have to try to redeem myself for the week by waking up and grinding the handles.

Did minimal handles work and mostly just did a scrimmage. Will look for improvement next week, and try to work out my scheduling better. Going to try to sleep early for now. The aim this week is to do my daily physio routine, handles workout, shooting workout and try to not spend $$ on food and lose at least 3kg (currently at 86kg with high body fat%). Will also need to set up my new laptop and put in some volume on GG.

Did more on my handles work out on Monday but didn’t get to finish my set, will be looking to finish it off on Tuesday as well doing Tuesday’s set too. Don’t have much to do other than doing online lecture tmmr. Unfortunately, the live MTTs with really juicy overlays that I’ve been playing got removed due to the operators losing too much money so there goes any further live grind, so I can just focus more on the online grind with my new laptop.

Completed the day 1 handles workout set of the week from yday, but didn’t get much time to do more, other than that, not much done today.

I'm curious about this one. Education should be for either something you enjoy, or as a step towards some goal (ideally both). I suppose I could also see it as a backup plan if plan A doesn't work out and nothing else particularly interests you as a suitable backup. But a degree for a degrees sake? F that.

Did most of the day 2 handles workout, but haven't finished it yet, will hopefully finish it along with day 3 handles workout but tmmr I might not have the time. Will have to catch up in the weekend to finish all my five days of workout. Also did a coaching session but didn't have pio on my laptop cuz it got deactivated so had to get the student to screen share their pio for me to go through the spot so it was bit embarrassing so i'll have to fix that. Played a live mtt (atm the only one i want to play in the week) but busted quickly. Will have to go to uni tmmr for my lectures and prob have to cancel a physio session. Not sure what im gonna do after that.

Sunk costs. Even if you are 99% done, if the last 1% adds no value to your life personally or professionally, why bother?

1% would be an extreme, there’s prob a x% where it’s breakeven

Didn’t get to grind handles, as I had uni lecture late and physio session got pushed to next week. Ended up playing 10/20 homegame through the night, a hand misread cost me big as I was quite tired, ended up 3k but could’ve been up more. Did coke to stay awake, but I don’t want to kill my sleep cycle so I’ll prob try to stay awake and watch the nets bucks game and the jazz nuggets game and maybe try to stay awake until 7-8pm or something before going to sleep and call it a lost day. Will resume training on the weekend.

Not happy with how I went this week, starting off good, but poor discipline lead to a poor sleep schedule and even poorer diet. Even tho the 10/20 session was juicy, it wasn’t worth ***** up my sleep. Starting today, I’m making sure i have a better sleep schedule and try to improve my diet. Still 86kg, target is to drop below 80kg first. Also plan to finish as much of my handles workout as possible this week.

As for the online grind, I will try to get everything set up with my new laptop (old laptop has a lot of issues), and reactivate my pio activation key. The major study I did in my transition to six max was working on the Kanu course which took months to complete and I will play on lower stakes than I usually do to test out my implementation. I’m confident that the strategy I will use is very viable for even high stakes. Also using some custom preflop sims on monkersolver that are very different to population and would also like to test those out too. They would greatly cut down on a lot of the game tree for me. Will update more on that as I put in more volume.

It’s been an improvement on the last week, but not really a productive week, pretty disappointed, but just gonna have to move forward. Finished two sets of the handles workout, will be looking to do more this week. Dropped 2/3 my courses to make room for rehab hours and work out hours. Will prob go over the pads course abit to refresh my mtt knowledge for an upcoming mtt series.

Spent Monday recovering from the weekend bender, so today, I’m waking up early to do ball training at a facility (w/ shooting machine and some handles set), then going to an appointment, then going to the cas for a freeroll baccarat tournie and food. Will prob also look into doing some mtt work tonight.

Travelled an hour yday for training but didn’t do much of the handles set just worked on shooting with my guy. Ended up going to the gym at night and swimming, but some of the swimming forms made my knee worse I think so it was a bad idea. So trying to recover my knee today and maybe just do minimal handles work. Will have to do a coaching session then travel to a live mtt later in the day.

Went to uni for some ball training, then coaching session got delayed to tmmr and went to play a live MTT. Still haven’t started the handles set yet, my knee still sore from yday.

Knee doesn’t feel right, I think I’ll take a break for my knees today.

Ended up doing the coaching session. Will try to sleep early and watch the nets game and do some handles work in the morning if my knee still feels fine.

Gonna spend a lot more time on self improvement rather than going out. Will do more of my workouts alone so I don’t get distracted. Will focus more on physio than playing which would risk injuring my knee further. Will watch my diet and sleep habits diligently. Will also post more poker stuff/hands/session reviews here since this is supposed to be mainly a poker thread. Will face my fears and challenges head on. Greatness requires discipline and sacrifice.

Got my laptop set up, will still play on GG but want to move to ignition cuz the pools are getting better there once I get some funds on that acc. Will prob try to wake up early to watch the hawks games then do uni work tmmr and give my knee one more day of rest before doing some training.
