We all got poker dreams.

In an alternate life I would sell all my ****, buy a motorhome and travel the country playing poker.

Real world is different. Wife, cat, dog, business, elderly family members etc...

Nearest casinos are 6/7 hr drive (Cherokee/Jax) so I am relegated to some spirited local "home" games.

My game has improved to the edge of profitability.

Once I set focus on BR, it grew from $1K to $5K in about six months. Took a $1K hit sports betting and playing poker.

Headed to Southern Horseshoe WSOP event. Tournaments, rebuys, satallites ate away at $4K pretty quickly. Did have some cash game success.

Still got some things to iron out.

I love theory as much as playing.

So with my budget busted all to hell with travel expenses and WSOP tournament gambling losses, it's time to rebuild.

This thread will document the rebuild process.

I wont touch savings or retirement or paychecks.

Cash flow only thru found money and poker profits.

Local Home game BR... $300
WSOP Circuit shot BR... $0
Paint can mystery BR... $0

Goal...

Reach $1k for my weekly game. Then split profits 50/50 for a bigger weekly PLO game and WSOP.

Play once if not twice a week locally and budget for three Cherokee WSOP"s and maybe a vacation related event.

Year end 2019... $10K is optimistic but would give me a nice enough BR to sustain locally to fund the "shot's" taken at WSOP.

Session #2.... Bought in for $200 and busted out my last $85 on a 88 pair. Villain bet $12 and I went all in on a 7xx flop. He called on a draw and rivered a flush.

Reloaded for $230... got down to my last $100. Crept back up to $175 in my stack.

Won a three way pot when I flopped a set of 7's. They kept calling my raises on a board 57x9 board. Figured I was drawing dead as villain #1 was already all in after the flop. Raised a bit over $100 and villain 2 folded a flush draw. River was no help and Villain #1 turned over KK.

Won a couple more pots and got to around $500. Eventually cashed out at $465 and finished up a meager +$40

Session#3... mixed game of PLO and NLH

Some big swings for some of the players. Couldn't catch any breeze and finished down $195 for the night.

Biggest hand... PLO turned a straight, potted, got called, and villain rivered a 7 and filled a hole for his 8. His straight higher than mine.

Recouped a few hands later with a boat.

Stacks are $500 to $1000 in a 1/3 PLO full table local game. Lots of limping with occasional fireworks.

Hand in question was AsAcKc6x. Called a $50 raise with another caller behind me. (Should I have potted and reraised with several to act behind me?)

Flop came 8c9c9x.

Out of position and figuring it was going to cost me anyway, I donk bet a semi bluff at the pot and led out with $70. Player behind folded, original raiser potted for $400. (Should I have checked hoping for a free card or potted it myself?)

Pot odds were about 2:1 or a little better. With clubs and two aces, guessing my hand equity around 52%?

I folded because he had not bee too active, and I seem to be the only bluffing at this game.

They rabbit hunted and it came 7xQx so a good fold, but not sure if it was the correct play.

I played tight for the most part, but kicking myself for bluffing away $70

The size of the bet seemed extreme if he had a monster. Felt like he was pushing me out but a 9 seemed obvious.

Game is way to big for my non existent BR, but I don't think I am the worst player at the table. Definitely in contention for the nittiest.

Local Home game BR... $305
WSOP Circuit shot BR... $100
Paint can mystery/reserve BR... $13
