Good to see you here, trojanovich, by playing against you, I realized that NL50 isn't as nitty as I thought. Made a ton of very good calls after I played with you.

On that hand, probably folding is even better than calling, it would be really easy to narrow down his range to exactly 44 there. Some guys are smart and check behind with some FDs, but most people just cbet there always with their FDs. I think there's no play other than jamming the river in there, it's not like this crazy nit with 1 AF went out of nowhere and started bluffing us or valuebetting thin with KQ...

Btw, from what I saw you playing, you're too aggressive and put yourself on some really tough spots. Basically the same stuff that I do, but it seems you do it more on pre-flop spots, while I do mostly post-flop lol.

You're probably right against this specific V. Guess I commented a bit too quickly without thinking it through properly

Don't think I'm particularly overaggro, so not too sure what to comment on that haha. We don't have a lot of hands yet, so maybe small sample; haven't really seen your aggressiveness either for that matter

Bankroll is at $1050

I think I have a major leak, being overaggressive in 3-bet pots, and it's in those spots where most of the money goes in and where people fight a lot.

I think I'm overbluffing a ton in those pots and getting kicked off them often =(

Like in those 2 hands:

H1: flop cbet is STD, but I don't know why, I can't hold myself OTT =( Also my hand is really bad, the worst combo for double barreling probably in that spot, I block his floats and his folding range(JJ/TT)

I dont think you need a coach, it would help but just watching RIO video is enough at nl50. Also you should really just use better bankroll management, like at least 60buyins and then start taking shots after that.

Loving the thread, just caught up again. good luck

h2 - just make the call otr vs SB and fold vs BB. SB can bet worse for value and has less flushes after the CC pre
h4 - I can see why you did it, but I don't think we're allowed to have a jamming size on flop. We are probably allowed to click it back to 45 at best, or just flat call everything (and obviously fold).

thx for the advice, haven't thought about differences in SB/BB cc ranges, will try to pay attention to that

on h4 it was vs a russian guy with a high cbet% and a moderate 3-bet stat. would it be a min-raise-fold or min-raise-call?

Rooting for you but you need to sort some mental stuff, read the mental game of poker. When you dropped to 700 and I saw NL50 hands it made me sad
Seriously though, good luck and stay rolled, run good

thx, man, but sometimes I just can't hold back, I was feeling good and pretty confident when I opened the tables that day xD. Also I was using a 2 BI stop loss(reached -1.4BI before going back to $1k)

Graph of the month

At least played decent volume, in the end, lost all I've made last month at 50z, so I'm still at my $1k bankroll. Tilt is such a big thing in this game, it's not like I'm a spewing monkey as I was, but it's clear that I'm playing poorly after I get coolered. Probably spewed hard only ~2 BI this month.

I'll make a big change into my approach in poker in this next month: I'll get staked, already talked and got a deal, will play NL25z for them. I think It will help my mental game a ton, it feels I'm just randomly clicking buttons, after almost a year of effort I have the same bankroll that I had in january 10th, when I was playing like a ****** and moving up with 15 BI BRM LOL.

I just couldn't see improvement in my results after 300k+ hands + tons of hours in study. Although I feel I have gotten a LOT better at the game, but the results aren't there. With this staking deal, I think I'll be able to release my full potential, without the pressure of moving back in stakes/losing flips, I'll focus only on playing my best. Also I'll do something that I always wanted to do but I couldn't: stop checking my results in the month(I didn't do that because I had some risk of going busto lol).

Goals for next month:
[ ] 30k hands
[ ] 1 RIO video/day

Some hands

Interesting times ahead with the staking deal, does it include coaching? GL with it!

AA flop jam looks good to me, you'll see a lot of 'random' hands here vs recreationals. I would go bigger pre with the 4b sizing.

Meh, decided to not accept the deal after I saw the contract.

Thanks for the input on the AA hand, I was feeling really bad here, I've made way tighter folds, but this guy could have a ton of crap.

I'll keep playing NL50, I know I can beat the stake, right now I'm focusing on finding leaks and making strats to beat the field.

Also I decided that I'll drop down magic the gathering on fridays, It's the best day to grind and I'm really pumped up for poker. I love playing with my friends though, but sometimes you have to make sacrifices.

Having a ton of annoying variance =(
Was doing pretty well in the month so far then this day hits me

Some cool hands

H1: OTF checked because it's a bad flop for my range in a MW pot, was going for the check-jam, OTR, thought villain could bluff with his missed draws, so decided to check rather than jam.

H6: villain had a reasonable 3-bet(not super big though), high cbet and high 3-bet OTF(30%+), I used to call his move there "tatsumaki", back in 2012 when I did battles with people on NL10 haha. Decided to raise because he was pretty light on his cbets, he probably did the same vs my raise, so we ended up in a situation where the craziest one would win lol.

H2: you say he is a fish and then u 3bet 89s. Why? Flop is clear fold. Even if you hit, you are probably behind.

Fish doesn't mean "calling stations that never fold", usually fish in these days are people who play really straightforwardly and overfold post-flop. So 3-betting 98s is very good vs these guys. vs whales it's better to 3-bet a merged range with KJo/ATo, stuff like that.

OTF it's never a fold, it's such a small bet and we have a backdoor draw, also he could be doing this with Kx/Jx, even if he has a set we have good enough odds to call.

OTT we can fold raise and call, I thought raise was more valuable because he could fold a ton of his sdv hands going for thin value.
11-06-2017 , 10:15 AM
I would like to hear couple more thoughts, but I still think it was a bad play. I didnt realize he minraised flop, so maybe call is OK, but I dont see how we can make that play on turn.
11-06-2017 , 01:13 PM
raising 98 was so bad post flop

Why would he raise Kx, especially in 3bet pot?

This very questionable. Fish = villains who make tons of mistakes because they do not know what they are doing. There are loads of them at 50nlz, and they are effortlessly easy to spot, offering many low variance XPLO spots.

villains who play ABC are far harder to stack and far harder to spot as you are usually marking them from their HUD stats which take forever to converge at Zoom.

Mark the clear fish for XPLO play and play balanced against everybody else ...works for me (@Zoom)

No, it's probably the nuts most of the time. Best case is TT/JJ

Call turn, such a good price to try and bink. I dont understand why you are raising to 74bb and stacking off. Seems suicidal vs fish.
