Getting destroyed at the tables, running very bad and having some signs of tilting(not huge monkey tilt, but robotic play instead)

I feel some of the better regs are adjusting to my playstyle and making my life way tougher.

One of the biggest problems I have is that I'm usually fine by overfolding, since most of the population never bluffs, but when some random reg starts going crazy on me I can't hero call because I don't know if he is doing that on purpose or if he has a good hand this time.

My pre-flop strategy is super exploitable too, I open 70% on the btn and 70% on the SB, most of the time I check if there are nitty players in the blinds so I can just steal their bbs, but people seem to be 3-betting me way lighter, so I came back into 4-betting a lot.

I'll tighten up on my steals and focus on playing a more striaghtforward strategy, also hero calling when it's needed, still overfolding.

H1: Should I check-call the river? I think I folded the best hand here a ton of the time =(

vs a reg I agree with you, this board is very hard for our range and we need to protect our checking range otherwise villain would just start betting after we check and own us.

but vs a fish there is a ton of value to be made from lower Qx and Jx, draws as well

Recovered a bit, it seems the best regs are adapting and are overbluffing, it seems that nittyness won't cut it, I'll need to start calling more pre-flop and post-flop. I already 4-bet a reasonable amount, but being aggressive and fighting aggression with aggression is a dangerous game, specially since I've been there before when people start jamming light over my 4-bets.

Will also reduce my RFI vs those regs.

Btw, I've decided to practice a new strategy I've been developing for the last 6 months, I'm not sure if it will work, was also saving it to NL100z, but will give it a try now.

H3: This is the insight I had during the hand, am I thinking right?

Vs nitty player with low WTSD, he surely has a tendency to overfold and is able to make some sick hero folds, so in theory he isn't the type of guy you should valuebet light against. But the thing is that I know how this guy plays, he is the type of guy who would always fastplay his sets OTT(specially in such a wet board, his raise OTT and OTF were like 9% OTF and 15-20% OTT), leaving his river range very unprotected.

So once he just calls me, he is capped at QQ, Jx, random PP and some very rare AA(which he may jam the turn too if he decided to slowplay pre). Making it an auto valuebet with QQ/KK/AA for me, even vs someone that is always folding worse, since he will never have a better hand. By always raising his sets OTT, he puts himself into a really tough spot OTR, where he should make a ton of hero calls and I can barrel a ton OTR and put pressure on his weaker range.

Don't get me wrong, I know it's a pretty standard river jam, vs good players we should be jamming JK for value there, even JQ vs some guys, but vs people who fold a lot, valuebetting here is just burning money. NL50 is filled with regs who fold QQ/Jx there, I've seen people fold nut straights OTR in a 3-bet pot vs my river raise with a flush on the board, getting 5 to 1 lol.

The month is almost over, I'm pretty happy with the improvements I've made and how I'm doing OK on NL50. I've been trying to be a NL50 reg since I came back to poker, this year.

The most amazing thing is that I played 30k hands, sick volume for someone who can only play 2h/day

Will try to keep that volume next month. Also will keep my aggressive BRM, will take shots at NL100 when I have 20 BI there.

Also I've been doing pretty well in the studies for that government job I want, studied more than 3k pages of law and portuguese and did more than 6k exercises since may. Will have a test at the beginning of next year, probably won't pass, but will keep doing my best there.

Angra is soooo good, I listen to it since I was 14, but never paid attention to that song, which I discovered this month while playing poker lol, pretty epic shoving OTR while it's playing.

I was thinking a lot in the last few days of how I`m going to approach poker, thought about buying a new monitor and increasing volume, about how I would move up in stakes, how many BIs of BRM I would use and if I would take more of an exploitative approach to the game or to watch more RIO videos in order to learn a more fundamentally sound strategy.

After a lot of thinking, these were my conclusions:

-I'll keep playing 2-tables, probably won't increase that number ever
From the way online poker is heading towards, PS isn't rewarding massive volume anymore, making it way better to focus on very high winrates. So the main focus will be to play every hand as well as I can play, keep improving, even if it takes a lot of time.

-I'll use an aggro BRM to shot take at NL100, then I will only take shots higher when I'm super confident about my game, so it will take a lot of time
I can see a lot of swings and how I'm super underolled for the variance I'm suffering at NL50, but since people say that NL100 is similar to NL50, I'll keep that aggro BRM for this step. Also I feel that I'm not a good NL50 reg, I feel I'm being exploited a ton, lots of regs are printing vs me and sometimes I feel I can only win when there's a ton of fish in the pool. I think I'm better than the average bad reg(when not tilting), but it will take a ton for me to move up in the stakes, I have a lot to improve.

-I'l focus on an exploitative approach to the game
People keep saying that the way to go at NL100/NL50 is going exploitative, I'll keep doing that and focusing on that part of my game. I think in order to be able to play at higher stakes, I should maximize the profit vs bad regs(since they're the fish of NL500z). So I'll do my best to increase my winrate vs fish/bad regs, this is my main focus right now, and will probably be for the next year, since it's so hard to learn things like that. So even if somehow I get rolled for higher, I won't move out of these stakes until I have a big winning sample and I'm confident with my game(unless I move back to NL16 haha).

I think I reached the point in my game where I know where I'm at in the poker world. I'm just an average reg at NL50, now I see how far away I'm from the real crushers of this game and how much it will take for me to play at a level that's remotely close to them.

Got destroyed today, I don't know what I'm doing wrong, I usually overfold a lot, but my redline seems to be falling off like crazy, and when I try making some calls, everyone always have it =(

Some hands I got owned in today, any ideas to improve my play on them?

H1: vs stationy reg, I'm at close to the top of my range, still have some straights, should I fold? I can't see how many combinations of straights he has there, only 68cc and some A3s, only 4 combos. For me, it's a clear valuebet, since this guy calls a ton of Ax and checks a ton of them OTF(trappy vs aggro), and bet-folding is so exploitable =(

H2: I usually fold this OTT, but thought that I should force myself more into calling, specially vs fishy players, I see a ton of people bluffcatching these guys and owning them. I was afraid of his TT, since it's much more common to see people overcalling TT/99/JJ rather than 33. So OTR he was less likely to be holding TT. Is it ok as played? Should I keep folding OTT vs an unknown or was this just a std cooler?

I forgot how tough are downswings, getting owned right now. I think that I'll use a more conservative BRM approach to NL100, maybe 30-40 BI, today I got close to going back to NL16, it would really slow me down if I did that.

Now I think that I'm not using a very good strategy vs NL50, people in there rarely call my thin valuebets, it's like I'm bluffing with TPTK... I'm also not outnitting the nits, still making some questionable calls(when I mean questionable, I mean calling a triple barrel with AK in a single raised pot, calling overbets with the second nuts, calling AK pre vs super nits)

Some hands

H1: good fold, right? It's a slowplayed set/higher flush all the time, right? Maybe some random 7x

Finally made a comeback, even though I'm running a ton above the EV, got a lot of coolers and I'm getting unlucky with my sets/flushes/straights. I'm understanding how most NL50 regs think about the game and I'm playing accordingly. I feel I'll be at NL100 in no time. And about the BRM, I decided that I'll shot NL100 at 20 BI, no gamble no future!

Month looks like this so far(volume is fine, close to my 30k hands/month goal)

Some hands

H1: Decided that he had way more AQ with that sizing, so sized it so I could represent Tx, which I have way more than he does, also blocking the ace is fine. I'm sure I'm overbluffing in this spot(specially since I don't use a randomizer), so maybe I should stick to making this move with my AJ only, right? Since I block more hands villain could call a river jam with(Not saying people will call straights there, this guy tanked a lot with that sizing lol). As played, should I use different sizings or should I just jam the river?

VAMOOOOOOOO!!!

Nice comeback, gogo

H1 I'd just fold river, he has a lot of the bigger valuehands you don't have so he should be comfortable bet/calling a lot of his range. Sizing looks ok to me, there are some spots we can jam like this otr, but this board would be terrible imo.

H2 is ok I guess, don't think cbetting 3way is the best, but as sized (because of the spazzfactor when fish see 1/3 bets, plus we're IP vs a minraise I'd call flop as well.

H3 I don't understand why he should be capped ott? I mean, yeah he could raise some of the top part of his range, but I think people slowplay more now than some years back, and rightly so, plus this is blind v blind so ranges are wider which means you'll have more bluffs and it's a good spot for him to flat flop w T9/87/88/77 etc.

H4 looks fine by me, he'll have some Axdd otr, but you have a stronger range here so should be good, I like the sizings.

H5 should've gone with the triple-check plan

H6 tough spot imo, especially readless vs regs as they can differ quite a bit with 3calling ranges in these positions. Think I'm checking turn, problem for me then is I don't want to fold vs river bet but it's prob best to do so, feels dirty.

H1: I still think I should just jam, but folding most of the time ofc.

H2: usually people have nothing on this texture, this small cbet usually takes down the flop a lot, I do it with all my range, also being IP is good so I can check OTT and realize my equity vs small PPs

thx for the ideas, man

Bankroll is at $1500

Played a ton yesterday(around 8h), I'm disappointed with my plays, even with people donating 4 BI to me yesterday I ended up losing. I've even ran well with sets/EV and didn't have major coolers, so it's likely that I've made a ton of bad plays which cost me a winning session.

From what I can recall, I lost 2 BI calling vs people who don't bluff and 1 BI by ovebetting when I had quads/straight flush(people will never pay me off). It's so hard to play "perfect", like being disciplined and making those damn tough folds, I feel I'll be stuck in NL50 for a while if I keep doing that. Those plays cost me around a 7bb/100 winrate yesterday.

I usually prefer to post strat hands, but this time I'll show the donations people made against me. For some reason it feels even worse, knowing I ended up breakeven even when people gave me free money like that =(

Btw, won't play for the rest of the week, will play horror games with my brother and a friend during my free time

H1: vs massive spewtard, I'm not sure if I would call a non-paired river though, maybe I should lol

I get the idea that they overfold a ton, specially when they see a flush, but it seems that all my valuebets get folds and always when I'm bluffing I'm getting calls, so annoying

Got destroyed today, I feel I'm not made for poker, I thought I was ok in my mind game, but it seems I'm tilted all the time, I tilt when I win and even when I lose.

I'm a very creative person, but creativity comes usually with a huge downside: lack of discipline. I think creativity is very useful in poker, but it's more useful for very very good players, for bad players like me, it's useless, maybe even worse than that. While discipline is just so important in this game, and I can't have none of it. I think that with some of the more creative plays I make, in some spots I'm murdering the opposition, the problem is that some hands later, I get too creative and burn a stack.

I seriously think it's possible to beat NL50 by more than 20bb/100 in the long run, if one is able to pick on everyone's weaknesses and not tilt. The pool is so polarized, there are people that stack with midpair OTF and people that check-call the second nuts OTR, there are people that never raise you OTF with anything weaker than 2-pair, and guys that bluff like monkeys.

Some hands here that I played today that show how polarized the player pool is.

H1: Vs the king of nits, how I'm supposed to valuebet thin against someone like that? Vs some guys it's good to go for 3 streets with TPTK, now if I'm not fully concentrated, I'll get owned pretty often by valuebetting this guy.

that's it, guys, will try to play decent for the rest of the week, next week I'll take a little vacation off from my studies, will try to play a ton of poker and go out with my friends. Will try to play 30k hands in that time spam

Got owned pretty hard today, played decent, tons of coolers, tough folds and probably got outplayed a ton. It seems that everyone is bluffing me, I'm overfolding a ton, and when I make some calls, they're always wrong.

So bad =(

This is the graph of my NL50 shot

Will go back to NL16 and will focus on playing more for SDV and checking back some strong hands in order to bluffcatch, this is a very poor part of my game: when I check it's usually to fold. Also I take the opportunity from villains to bluff me by betting a ton.

Bankroll is at $1250

I couldn't move back to NL16, went nuts on NL50, risking my bankroll and got some back. It's super irresponsible, but I couldn't step away from NL50, knowing how many fish was playing there and that I could beat the regs with my A game.

Ran hot, played well, some questionable plays obviously. Also reload sweated me again, really cool, managed to find a ton of leaks and to see more of his perspective of the game, which is really good. My mind was blown after some spots in that sweat session.

Right now I want to find a coach, I think that my game changes so much from time to time that I start getting confused, I really can't tell if I'm overbluffing or not in most spots, or which hands I could have there(obviously mostly overbluffing).

I think the areas of poker I need more work on are about bluffcatching and figuring out ranges for villain in some spots. If I don't start bluffcatching, I'll let people run over me and will be destroyed by smart regs. I thought that nittyness + aggression was the key to beat NL50, but my game became super exploitable and got owned pretty hard by anyone trying to do so.

Also my playstyle tilts the **** out of people, the tough thing is that they usually do better vs me when they tilt. If I tilt a nit that is never bluffing me, and he starts doing so, I'll get owned.

Any recommendation for a coach?

Some hands

H1: right move vs the wrong villain, I guess. This guy was very nitty, one of the reasons why I flatted pre. OTR, vs most regs, it's a good move to just check-jam, since people on NL50 almost never bluff there, and are capable of folding overpairs. The problem is that I think this guy is so nitty that he would bet-check-bet overpairs or bet-bet-check them. I've seen some guys checking back overpairs in that spot, afraid of getting called only by better. Maybe I'm wrong and was just unlucky ;(

H2: Guy was very nitty, low AF, but there were so many draws in there. I usually just fold OTT, but was very confident during the session, had made a ton of good calls I would have just folded without thinking. In theory it's an easy call OTT/OTR, in practice probably not since most people in NL50 don't bluff enough. The tough part was that he slowplayed OTF and I had a note on him that he played draws aggressively. But this seems like a good flop to slowplay.

I told him that it would be criminal not to valuebet there, since this guy was almost always calling Tx there. The problem was if he was capable of check-raising as a bluff or not. I get the idea that fish usually don't turn hands into a bluff, specially in such a sick spot. Against a reg, never folding here, right?(not a nitty reg, though).

Graph since the last comeback

It's pretty clear what the difference is when I'm playing my A game vs when I'm down, playing scared poker. I realized during a session that I usually start with a big red line, then it starts going down. When I'm not confident enough, I miss that last triple barrel, that river check-raise that could turn the tables around.

One of the reasons why I could make a sick 50k hands sample on NL16 was that I was playing 10k hands/month, so I wasn't bothering when I lost pots. Now that I'm pumped up by playing NL50, my volume increased a ton, but couldn't play well over the sample.

of course running well also increases the red line a ton, but I'm fighting more for the pots when I'm confident.

Some hands, now I'll post some bad ones/crazy things, usually I just post strat hands and hands that make me look cool.

H1: it's better than it looks, I guess haha.

H2: I was pretty sure villains couldn't check a FH/AA/KK twice here. I usually do that so people can pay me off for the same reason I called OTT and OTR. Sadly most of the time people still fold OTR lol. I used to fold this OTT a lot.

H3: UTG tanked a ton, probably folded something like AQ. It would be fun to see his face when they saw those 2 ******s getting the money in with those crappy holdings, LOL!

The thing here is that UTG looked like a nit, one of the other guys was a fish, the other one I don't know. A raise OTF would look super strong, specially with a fish in the pot, so I thought I could have a ton of FE vs the nit. I was shutting down on most turns unless I caught a FD or a SD(I'm not sure what I would do on a 3s turn).

It's super loose here, but I decided to make those lines after I saw almost less than 10% of my sets seeing showdown on MW pots.

H7: River check-jam that I missed, I thought a ton about jamming, but in the end, couldn't pull the trigger, my reasoning behind that is that vs the population I'm never slowplaying flushes OTT, since they are so afraid of valuebetting OTR, so I would be bluffing 100% here. I think I played it wrong, sometimes it's ok to be bluffing 100% in one spot, if villain is folding enough, right?
