Sorry, man, I don't have enough time even for posting things here regularly haha, BBV will have to wait for a while. Maybe if I reach NL100 I'll revive that thread haha

Bankroll is at 1.1k, had a good session on NL50, player very well >D

H1: Guy was very nitty postflop with a really low AF(he looked like a weaktight fish)

He probably thought I was isolating pretty wide vs limpers, but when I'm OOP(and most regs), I usually iso with only Axs+, SCs+, 88+, I check 77, Kxs, all offsuit connectors, even J8o, J9o

so he was going to see a flop 75%-80% of the time in a multiway pot with KK/AA, without getting value from the fish. It's a nightmare scenario

So I gave credit for the guy to be a good player and just be spazzing out and with that limp-raise.

vs good players, he probably should balance that SB complete range, but doing it vs a fish is just so bad

vs my adjustment this move is probably printing a lot of money, since I would jam 100% of my range there because I jammed JQo lol

I'll think more about those limp-raises next time I see that, probably won't go nuts like I did

LMAO @ QJo. That is such an obvious adjustment vs. you specifically that you have to just face-palm and realize you are a spewing machine. Love that ****!

thats why I said I was wrong and will give more respect to moves like that

I'm not spewing much, this was just a super weird spot I have never gotten into in the 300k+ hands I played this year

just see all the disciplined folds I made in this thread

Running well, but outplaying a lot of regs/owning fish
still not folding as much as I should, the nittyness of NL50 is insane lol

Some hands

H1: vs 2 people, I'm getting value only from KK/random Jx and random crap, also this board is bad for my range, was folding in almost any river but an A/straight

Bankroll is at $1750, just more $350 to NL100!!!

Month so far

09-14-2017 , 11:53 AM
Bankroll is at $1650, played 2 terrible sessions, 100% sure it was -EV, probably around -10bb/100 to -20bb/100 area

Today I wanna talk about other things, mostly about my struggles with poker, I need suggestions from you, guys.

Even though those losses were small, I've seen that I easily start overestimating my villains when I start winning, playing that kind of "james bond poker" coldeu talks about. I started playing terrible just a while after I started making a ton of progress.

I'm afraid of donating everything I've made again and having to go back to NL16. The tough part about that is that I really feel that it was just luck that got me here in NL50, that I won't be able to continue beating it in the future. And the toughest part is that I really want to play more, specially when that happens. I feel I'm in constant tilt and having to prove myself and play more, and guess what? When I play, I play like a monkey, don't make those exploitative folds I should do/good bluff raises/overbets vs regs/massive value overshoves vs fish, which is what is needed to beat NL50.

I usually don't play in the morning, I only play after I studied 6h in a day for that government job I want. But today when I woke up, I had to play, played for a while, lost $40 bucks and here I am, feeling really bad because of the way I played.

The thing is that poker is the only game I've tried hard to be good at, even though I was very good at other games, I didn't want to be the best or put the effort to be at the top, I was playing only because they were fun. Every time I make a bad move I feel really bad, it's like a part of me is dying. I don't care about the money, when I lose because of luck/EV I feel fine, the situations I feel the worst are when I play like a ****** and even manage to make a profit just by getting lucky, it's so brutal.

I sometimes feel I'll never be a good poker player, that this game isn't for me, I'm very emotional and it hurts my game a lot. Maybe even with hardwork I won't be able to play this game at a high level =(

Right now I'm thinking between some options: keep playing my 2h sessions/day normally and hoping for the best, take one week out of poker to rest and let the tilt go off or take one week off and watch some RIO videos(even though they're not proper for NL50, most of the things people do there is just terrible in NL50), another option would be to analyze all my NL50 hands for the month.

What do you guys think?

Btw, thanks for the help, guys, I've done well mostly because of the support of many guys here, specially reload, alwaysfolding and princess elsa

TLDR

You have mentality issues. Play very short sessions taking breaks often.

I'm doing it, my sessions don't last more than 2h, not because I wanted it, but because I don't have as much time for poker as I had.

But yeah, it's the best thing to do

I'm saying MAX 30 minute sessions, then MUST take 5 minute break. You need to set an alarm or something.
09-14-2017 , 12:57 PM
Pretty sure Broken means way shorter sessions than 2hrs. It's ofc completely individual, but I'd classify 2hrs non-stop sessions as long, and at some time we are all in need for that break. It's about taking some seconds to listen to yourself, 'Am I in the right mindset now to continue playing?' etc. I'm struggling with much of the same as you are describing, and playing long sessions getting unfocused are a killer for your game/winrate.

About making the 'wrong decisions', are you playing fast when this happens? Like, clicking call etc. too fast not thinking trough it? That's something I can relate a lot too. What I've recently done to improve that, is getting software (StarsCaption) set up with delayed actions. Like, you click 'call' or whatever and it doesn't actually click the button before a preset time (ie. 3-8 sec), that way you can change your mind before the timer runs down.

Yeah, will start doing those 5 min breaks, but only when I'm feeling I'm not playing well, because I don't have a lot of time to play this game anymore, and I usually go for a smoke break, have to go downstars, which take a decent amount of time. I usually get into a tilted state from time to time and stay in that state for days/months(like in the beginning of the year)

My worst decisions aren't fast, usually when I make a terrible move I think a lot about that, but in a pretty stupid way, like it's a conspiracy or something, like everyone is trying to bluff me =(

btw, played more 2k hands yesterday, it was a very good session, played really well, posting my feelings here and talking with reload helped me a lot to recover from that tilt

H1 vs those nits I think we need to exploit check back at some point in the hand. As played, turn looks like a good spot to do so.

H3 100% calling vs a xrjam otr. Not too sure about your overbet vs unknown that is VPIPing his first hand in 10, but guess it's ok. He should have plenty of Ax, so river sizing depends how stubborn he is. I'd prob go smaller for now, until I know more about him and pound bigger and bigger sizings on him later on after watching him call hands like that.

H1: yeah, somehow I thought it would be easier to bet-fold that OTT rather than checking back and folding the river lol

btw, just bought the full pt4 version, I'm confident I'll reach NL100, maybe not this month but in the near future
neteller is just so bad here in Brazil, I can't use their card anymore, and cashout fees + IRS here in brazil makes it like a 50% reduction over my profits. And ofc taxes money is just poorly invested, here in Brazil you can't get out of your house without thinking about being robbed/kidnapped, almost 100% of the houses here have a huge wall/electric fences/cameras because otherwise people would rob the house lol.

Not that I was going to cashout any soon, was just thinking about buying some mtg cards later, like buying $50 bucks of cards makes me super happy lol

Bankroll is at $1400

Played some really tough sessions recently, specially yesterday, every time I got in pre-flop, I got destroyed, was afraid to get dealt kings again so I would just stack-off vs aces again, in the last 3 sessions I probably got stacked around 10 times pre-flop, half of that being AK vs AA, without coolering anyone else(aside from random fish stacking off with KTs)

The funny thing is that even though I lost only 2 BI yesterday, I'm mad as hell, really pumped up to play again and get that money back. While at the beginning of the year, I lost $700 in 1 session and felt it was "standard" lol.

Even by getting coolered to hell, I managed to keep playing well and making disciplined plays, also I had a feeling that I was simply destroying NL50.

Some hands from yesterday

H1: had around 5 pre-flop set-ups before playing that hand, still managed to make the right move. I was jamming almost all turns vs the fish, but the initial raiser was really nitty post-flop, he wouldn't call with worse hands OTF

H2: vs a weaktight player, I think my valuebet OTR is a mistake, since he won't call with worse(these guys fold a lot, he had like 75% Fold to flop cbet and 50+ OTT), but I valuebetted for the sake of balance and maybe if he were a little bit tilted lol

H4: vs probable fish, I think river it's a missplay, since the guy looked like a weaktight guy, so he would probably fold most of his pairs OTT, and these guys usually draw to their flushes until the end, so he was really flush-heavy there, just check behind and give up. Vs another types of players, I think it's std to jam on that river as a bluff.

H5: 0% equity OTT lol. As played it's fine betting OTT, right? I think it's a decent hand to check back too, since I won't be annoyed by having a clubs river, also some guys are super nitty OTT and will overfold and only jam if they beat me.
