Another one:
is it fine turning this into a bluff?
Thought he got an ace OTT, so since I have the K as blocker, he has way less AK(which he won't fold probably, even though he should)

did I fold a bluff probably? Thought that he was never bluffing there, maybe barrelling gutshots

You think he should fold his AK even though you're raising KT here? Sizing is very large.

Ok, so you posted 2 hands where they didn't have monsters. Now post the other 20 hands where they min-raised, you called off your stack and they had the nuts.

The difference with the 2 hands you posted and the AK hand, is that villain made a very large bet on the turn in the AK hand. The average micro player rarely plays aggressive on turns/rivers without a big hand.

So correct play with AK imo is to call flop (very good price + he could be raising with worse to see where he's at), then fold turn to his huge bet. Simply folding flop is not bad either.

what hands call that flop in a MW pot and make that turn raise? With that size?
03-11-2017 , 04:03 PM
prefer bluffing that turn with hands like 44/55/56 etc. you're hand still has decent value vs his turn barrelling range. I doubt he barrels better Kx 1 pair hands but i do think he probably bets some decent amount of his diamond draws. (Q10dd/QJdd for sure)

his range probably looks something like A(T/J/Q), Q10dd/QJdd/some other XXdd hands and 55-TT which he turns into a bluff (the A is a decent card for him to barrel as it makes up some a large part of his range) i'm not really sure what you're trying to rep, 22/33/45suited is like the only hands you can have. MAYBE AK which flat called pre.

i'm not really sure what you're trying to fold, AQ? AJ? I tend to think that trying to get people to fold TP good kickers is a bad idea at the micro's.

I'm destroyed vs his turn barreling range, people don't double barrel with gutshots as often as they should

I was either folding the turn or raising, folding probably is best, but I had hope villain was a smart player and capable of folding TP facing this massive raise
03-11-2017 , 06:18 PM
so you assume he is a smart player and therefore u can bluff him. But he is not smart enough to barrel gutshots and semi bluff turns.

Ye ok... LOL

Well, if he is doing it with gutshots, then it's even better for me, since my only option was folding

You know what's funny though i look at your thread and you bio reads this
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I started my challenge on August 25th with $10 in my account playing $0.01 / $0.02 Zoom 6 Man. Only 5 Big Blind buy in, and so far I have managed to grind up to a $75 bankroll. I have only played part time so far, and only do 30 minute - 1 hour sessions daily. I have just returned back from a 2 day trip to New York City, and I will try to grind my current bank roll $75 to $500 by the end of September which will put me on target to $10,000 by the end of the year.

My Background.... I've been playing poker (Mainly MTT's) for about 12 years now. I have made a lot of mistakes in the past, and I'm doing this challenge to get back into the grind. I am also quitting my career to focus on Poker and Online Marketing/ App / Website design through Google Ad words.

Just bought 2 new monitors, new corner desk, and I changed one of my bed rooms in my room into an office. There is absolutely no doubt that I will complete this goal. I may have to invest in some poker software to track my progress. Although Sharkscope should work.

Right now I am still playing $0.01 / $0.02 Zoom 6 Man 4 tabling, but I am also taking an occasional shot at $0.02 / $0.05 zoom and $2 MTT's.

My Pokerstars Username is Whazez, and I will update my progress on this thread only. Enjoy the show folks !
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I guess the only question I have is did you play the last 12 years without a hud? Because you said ''I may have to invest in some poker software to track my progress'' this is normally something you get early on lol.

$475 bankroll, owned NL16 today
I'm feeling pretty confident, today it was the best session I played since I came back to poker, not by winnings, but how well I played and how sure I was of my plays, made a lot of excellent folds, hero calls, thin valuebets.

Will move back to NL25 tomorrow, goal is to be at NL50 in the next weekend

Think of it like this, what hands that bet the turn (for value) do you fold? The rest of his range (his bluffs) you're better off calling against with your hand and it's not close. (Hint: you keep all of his bluffs/missed draws on the river which you can call down vs on some bricked rivers)

As mentioned in previous post he's not turning better Kx into bluffs on the turn/river so we won't have to worry too much about being value owned.

What hands do you think you are repping by raising this turn?

22, 33, but it's a MW pot, people play nitty in those pots.
I would play 22 and 33 exactly like that too, even with that size, just pot the turn.

Vs regs who can triple barrel I would call to shove the river, but few people in these stakes can triple barrel bluff often.

This makes you think you can actually fold out AK on that board?

that's why I have blockers for it
it folds AQ, so I'm fine with it

Hey, guys, one question, when should I call pre?
Vs UTG opens, I have a very small calling range, mostly PPs to setmine and AQ
same vs MP and CO opens, vs BTN I flat only some hands like KJo, JTo.

Is my calling range to small? Maybe I'm 3-betting too much where I should be calling?
