OP makes poker sound so easy.

I find it somewhat difficult to appreciate a poker player's acumen for the game when they're on a god-like heater. People who can survive trials and overcome roadblocks on their way to success usually have a much greater breadth of experience and perspective. But what's to be said about people who coast without experiencing any tribulations? I wish bobbyc all the luck in the world and hope he reaches his goals swiftly. But it seems like he hasn't had a single losing session since he started this thread. Are there some people in this world that just..... never lose? I didn't think there were many, although it seems like OP might be one of the blessed ones.

Loving the thread! I've enjoyed reading it, and look forward to more updates! Keep crushin'

I agree that overcoming obstacles builds character. I am sure that OP has lost some money playing poker and I would imagine that he has encountered problems in other areas of life (I mean we all have, right?)

That being said, I love this guy's confidence and outlook on life. Reading this thread is definitely a boost in motivation for me.

If he was all of a sudden all sad sack one day, I would wonder what the hell happened to OP!

I take it you don't play poker for a living. There are not people in this world who "never lose," and I'm no different. This is borderline insulting to be honest. I've been playing poker since I was 15, and I can assure you I've lost over 5 figures before I even knew what I was doing, and I worked very hard to get where I'm at. I've broke computers after 10 hour losing sessions, I get 1,2,3 outed like everyone else and I'm absolutely not on a "god like heater," far from it, actually, but I have become immune to complaining about in here. I put in hours a week watching study material, reading, tuning my life towards being the best player I can be.

The posts that I detail are usually a compilation of my week, as opposed to just every session I play, and sure, I like to describe my favorite hands more so, but there's ALOT more behind the scenes. I've had -5k weeks since starting this thread, and I was grinding 1/3 a year ago, but I choose to post session details as opposed to a exact "run up" of my roll/ exact winnings, losses, hourly, etc. Nonetheless, thanks for reading. I'll be sure to start posting some losing hands more, in extreme detail. The type that will make you cling to your bi-weekly pay check with glee. This thread's gonna be a little less sunshine and tits and a little more gloomy.

hmm, I had no intention of being a troll, or a hater. I'm actually supporting your progress. Sorry if I came off sounding discouraging.

But after reading your reply, I understand more clearly what your purpose for this thread is. The PGC threads I normally encounter are bankroll challenges that include HH's, profit/loss updates, strategy questions, graphs, etc, so that's what I've come to expect in a PGC. Whereas it sounds like you've made one as more of an outlet to experiment with your passion for story-writing. It's a good thing! So it makes sense why you wouldn't include such details in your thread because it'd probably make the reading experience a little dry. I didn't mean to assume you never lost money, but given the fact that you neglected to include that kind of information in your thread, it lead me to believe that you just never lost.

I actually have a bit in common with you. I am playing poker for a living too (although I've only pursued this path for 9 months and am still fairly new to the game). I also have my own PGC thread, although it's no where near as entertaining as yours.

I wish the best of luck to both of us! And anyone else who's trying to make it. Happily subscribed. Keep on writing!

Never too soon to be reading the Mathematics of Poker IMO. Got to be one of the greatest Poker books ever written. And I didn't even understand the math!

Looks like I'm pulling an all night bender at Aria #shipsahoy

Just got to the V ready to own souls and possibly pull another all nightaaa
09-26-2014 , 11:39 PM
Pretty sure playing 1/2 sober is a leak already bored out of my mind
09-26-2014 , 11:51 PM
Told ya the prop would suck. I'm playing 2/5 at V also bored as ****. Same hat say whatsup!
09-28-2014 , 06:46 AM
My biggest poker leak has always been alcohol. It's impossible for me to sit there and play for hours without beer, I'll die from boredom. But then again that's why I'm not a pro lol......

Dusted off two buy ins at 1/2 at V today running like a leg-less antelope, also made two atrocious calls. Skimmed some 1/3 last night at Aria that was playing deep like a 2/5 and crushed it. Got a decent feel for what I can do with this prop but it may be a little more mentally taxing/ not worth while, then I first assumed. Attempted to get 1/3 thrown in the mix so I could grind the Wynn 500 max game per suggestion from ECGrinder, but that's not happening. Prop is officially 10k profit from Oct-Feb at any 1/2 NL. I'm pretty sure I'm going to regret this and buy out but **** it.

Taking next couple days off to figure out a solid routine/chill/rest. I need to start getting up and going to the gym earlier. By the time I finish working out and get cleaned up I end up grinding like 8-7, sleeping all day then repeating, which can't be +EV

To do list-
1. Masseuse with bomb ass

Lol yeah I never drink at 2/5+ but at 1/2 I can throw a few back, although I'm trying to not make a habit of that, or red bull.

My style isn't working at the V 1/2 tables. Lacking focus, and running god awful. Got the prop altered to any 300 max game, but had to cut a month to do so.
Now-Jan 1st any 300 max NL game. Going to grind the B and Aria 1/3 mostly. **** the V. Should give me a better chance seeing as how I started off horrid. Gonna be grinding like a mad man.

Aria game is definitely suiting me the best. Climbed my way out of the downswing tonight, 10k should be cake!
