How's White Collar compared to Californiacation? I've heard good things but never checked it out

Californication>White Collar, no challenge. White collar is okay and all, but very repetitive. I'm loving Californication, easily top 5 series I've ever watched and I'm only on season 2. White Collar was more of a series to watch till I found my next fix. Californication is the fix.

I stare into my reflection, and I see two things looking back.
I see what I've done, how far I've come, and everything I've gone through to

I don't play poker solely for the money, and I don't play because I "have" to.
Although, I can't imagine really working for anybody else at this point, and the
freedom is unmatchable.
I don't play poker for the minuscule highs, and fluctuating adrenaline rushes.
I don't play poker because I "enjoy" the swift kicks to the nuts that we're all
inevitably prone to.
I play poker because I want to be the ****ing best.

I drown myself in my studies, I constantly look for spots to improve on, and I'm
always willing to expand my mind into unfamiliar territories.
I don't want to get by.
I don't want to "eat."
I want to FEAST, on my own, on yours, and on anybody who is blocking my path.
I want to be the reason people learn the game.
I want to be the ****ing future. So I will be, it's really that simple, if you
don't think about it.
Well, it's quite simple even if you do.
Just don't.

Your attitude is a weapon. Your weapon, and only yours. Whether or not you're
firing lead or blanks is entirely based on yourself.

This girl is different.
A brisk chill raises my arm hair when she smiles back at
me in a "attempt your best shot," type of manner.
A heightened version of the girl in the red pants, dare I say.
Dating material is definitely present, One D word I'm not used to giving out as
loosely.
But I'm focused, and I don't have time for such at this time in my existence.
I want to climb mountains, explore the depths and scream into the burrows of the
wilderness as the alpha-men of the past centuries have done at the beginning of
our species.
I want to admire art, and THINK about things that are unusual to the naive and
beautiful to the accepting.
I don't have time for distractions.
The last distraction I was distracted by wasted enough energy to illuminate the famous
guitar that shadows above one specific gaming property. At least for a few
moments. Seconds.
I defer from the attraction. I'll deal with it when I feel more, interested.
You know what they say. For every beautiful girl there's a guy who's bored with ****ing her.

I'll write about poker later. Right now I dwell in climate with a bottle of
sauvignon blanc and my drifting brainstorms. Leaving for Colorado/Utah/Vegas
tomorrow.

GOALS-
1. Prop bet is in the works 10k to my 5 if I can make 10k at 1/2 and 1/3 solely
by January 1st 2015. Still considering on the worth , but I think it's possible.
COUNT ON IT.
2. Play at least 2 sessions of LATB.
3. Write something that makes somebody think/cry/revel.
4. Live.
5. Be grateful.

Hank Moody, is a great character I believe largely based on David Duchovny's degen lifestyle! Although I still love Ari Gold's offensive one liner put downs and general persona.

Excellently written thread BC. You have a great style and can tell you work to polish your craft. I'd highly recommend you publish some personal works on Amazon ... I'd consider buying for kindle for a few bones and it'd be a residual income that poker can't give. You've got a target audience, milk it while you can. My brother has done that to the tune of tens of thousands....just an idea.

Will respond to everything when I sober up. Had a wild night tonight with my roommates. Dressed up in a Nick Jonas type manner and attempted to get VIP tables in all the top clubs with security escorts, two camera guys and another friend in a full suit. Results were more than awesome, got a few people to stop and ask me to take pics with them, girls were down for the get down and wanted to come with to our table. I've gotten compared to the kid way too many ****ing times so I figured it would be funny. It was.

On another note what's everyone's opinion on the 10k by January 1st in 1/2 300 max solely prop? It's 5k to make 10 thus booking 20k in 4 months profit if successful. My buddy doesn't think it's possible and after running the numbers I think it's easily doable if I maintain a 17/hour average for 600 hours. I don't really feel like grinding it for four months but I'm thinking it's too good to pass up and I have no problem playing it if it's a good value. Thoughts?

Only 100 days or 2412 hours left from right now until Jan 1, 2015. $10K at $1/2 in that timeframe is going to require a strong work ethic. Plus you got $5K of your own up?

If you have no obligations it will be close. Don't forget about possible lost days - Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years Eve, etc...

About the 1/2 prop: doable - sure. Fun - well, you'll meet way more girls than any other stake, getting drunk at the tables is obv no problem, you can play in tons of poker rooms, and it'll be a pretty easygoing time. Restrictive - "look at that juicy 5/T game!" "No time, I've for a 1/2 prop" compared to 2/5, run the numbers and 600 hrs at $20/hr +$10,000 < 600 hrs at $60/hr.
Depends what your goals are, would be a sick prop for people to sweat and see what's doable at 1/2

My work ethic is uncontested. I was thinking I had 4 months for some reason, but you're right I suppose it's only 3 now. The arrangement is set for 4 months though so Oct 1st-Jan 1st would be the timeframe.

If she's available I may have to work some charm, maybe purchase her for the rest of her shift one session if I'm up like <400bb lol then tell her to just pull up a chair, funnel me Stella Artois and tell me her life story. Still setting out the details. It would be Oct-Feb. I really don't mind giving it a try, the challenge will keep me humbled and hungry, and I wanted to do something like this once I got out here to start me off while I can work on maintaining my A game through long grueling sessions, along with a few other aspects I want to tweak before regging bigger games. Great points made though. I think I can make it by January actually.
