GG!

Now if you look back to your last 2 years in poker do you think that 14 months of in the MU is just a part of this career or do you think that mostly you did this for yourself because of bad mental game/lack of study etc.? Do you believe that after all this exp. you got from this it could happen again because this is part of the MTT world?

I think its just a part of my career yea. As I said, Ive learned a lot from this experience. As far as "doing it to myself" here I feel a bit not guilty. In my opinion it was an unfortunate mix of things such as Czech republic banning online poker etc. I defnitely dont think I didnt study enough. On the contrary, when I wasnt able to play poker all I did was running sims, reviewing with other guys, just generally doing quite a bit of work related to poker. But then again I couldnt get the practise in at the same time. Then whenI could, I just didnt feel like studying as hard because I felt playing had higher priority and that I studied enough in that previous period.

As far as bad mental game. There I am definitely guilty. But you cant know your leaks unless you experience them. Imagine it from my perspective. Prior to coming to BitB and playing MTTs, my biggest ever downswing was like 4-5K? And after being half of the year in the stable, basically only playing MTTs for 8 months or so, I was playing 1k, 2K events and had to experience huge swings both emotional and money. I agree I defninitely wasnt mentally prepared for having such swings. But then again, its a new thing I learned and it helped me understand certain things. And after all, if I really want to be the best and play SHR events, I will have to deal with more than just 50K swings.

Swings will definitely happen again. Its just a part of the game. And given my goals/expectations, they will be lot bigger too. But there will be upswings too. All that matters is that I am a bit more experienced now and hopefully I will be able to handle things better. And also do smarter decisions regarding game selection etc.

So yea, I went home after my thursday session. I managed to make a little profit again on thursday so that felt nice. I wanted to get home as early as possible because I scheduled a tennis match for friday morning with my friend so I just went right after the session again. I managed to get like 4 hours of sleep before waking up and going on the court

The match was great as always. I played surprisingly well considering my shape. I beat him 3:0 but the last set was actually pretty funny. There was this one rally at the end of the second set where the guy lobbed me and I was trying to hit the ball with one handed backhand but I missed the ball and the raquete slipped from my hand and did sth weird with my middle finger and it was super painful. At first I thought I broke it lol. Wasnt broken tho but I ended up playing the rest of the match in pain.

After that I went to school. That was obviously pretty not great. Lots of mathematics and I just couldnt find enough focus. After that I met up with my friends, my sister and we went for a dinner. Oh and I almost forgot! I went to get these finally! Loving them.
Spoiler:

Then we went for a dinner. It was great. We left the restaurant around midnight and my sister convinced me to see the doctor with my finger lol. Wasnt broken as I expected. But by that time I was getting weirdly sick. After we came home its gotten worse and I ended up throwing up all night almost. Was super unpleasant. It was the first time ever I got food poisoning. Generally my stomach can deal with anything but not this time I guess. So this made me stay home until Sunday morning. I at least got to see my dad aswell who came back from Slovakia on Saturday evening.

Sunday
I was a bit worried about playing on Sunday because I still didnt feel 100%. The session went pretty ok. I ran a bit poorly in later stages but its fine, I ran well recently too. I managed to come 4th in the sunday great 8 on 888 to have a BE session. Couldve been better, couldve been worse so all good.

Graphs (for some reason PT4 didnt track the session perfectly but it should be BE)
Spoiler:

DR. House style
I also bought this little baby right here to help me with organizing my days and setting goals etc. Ive been thinking about my overall goals quite a bit now and I will make a big list of them pretty soon and will post here.

Oooooh baby

The monday grind is real. Its super nice to be as motivated to play as I am right now. My passion for playing was always big even when being in huge make up but now its even bigger. I enjoy doing everything related to poker, especially playing. I was pumped to start my session yesterday with all the new tournaments. There is just so much stuff to play that every day feels like sunday. Hopefully this will continue and online poker, especially MTTs will rise. So ye, after I did all my warmups I started playing. I enjoyed the entire session. I had couple of deep runs.

I thought I was gonna win the marathon event, came super close to it I was actually chipleading it from last 100 people down to like 20. Unfortunately I came 14th when I was card dead quite a bit and then KK<AA. Was a nice run. I didnt really have any other interesting runs at that time. I was quite happy that the investors let me play the bb530. Didnt last long there but the tournament was really really sick. I didnt really get anything else going until like 10pm. I stopped regging at that time and I ended up 1 tabling the 22$ monday 6max from like 11pm. I had heaps of chips there. By that time I was also railing Elmerixx as a part of my 1-1 coaching. I enjoyed it but I feel like I couldve definitely have use his time way more efficiently for which I blame myself. He was kind enough to offer another session so Im gonna make sure to prepare properly.

Anyways I ended up making a real deep run in the 6max. I managed to final table it. Obviously the field was pretty damn soft but I felt like it got a little bit variance heavy towards the end because of people going crazy. I tried to just lower the variance as much as possible. There was a discussion about dealing 3ways. I thought I would never deal but I was 3rd in chips having 35BBs, 2nd guy had 45BBs 1st had aruond 58. They offered 7.8K, 7,5K and 6.8 to me while the payouts were 10k, 7k, 4,8k. I told them I wanted 7.5k otherwise lets play. Im really not sure about my decision here but I felt like I have huge edge but then again how big can the edge be 35BBs deep.

Anyways we decided to play and I basically dominated the game 3 handed. When we got to the HU my plan was kinda to play as low variance as possible altho the guy didnt really seem to like that idea so he was going crazy. First couple of minutes there were big swings in stacks but after I got the lead which I think is the most important thing in MTT HUs I just grinded him down slowly. I was super happy to win this one obviously altho Id be much rather winning something tougher. But yea, I feel super motivated, super happy and super greatfull for whats happening lately. Hopefully it can continue for as long as possible.

Hey man,

Really enjoy reading ur journey so far

Really satisfying to see that a good made plan and being consistent pays off. As a reader had a nice feeling and can imagine how much more satisfying was for you haha.

Been stalking a bit your daily grind and was curios what s the catch for playing games under 20$ in the sense that with all the training u ve got etc you must have better winrates in games over 20$ rather than playing 10E/$ stuff especially since you don t mass table

What do you mean by "the bb500 was sick" ?

@20 6max deal : i think u should never deal from 35bbs in such tourney. here comes in play ur experience and hard training imo. can imagine that opponents were nt the brightest in the hood

good job and keep it up!

Hey man, Im glad you enjoy reading

As far as the low buy-ins go, I usually play them at the beggining or end of my session. I tend to late reg them so its nice for pumping up volume + it reduces the overall variance of my entire schedule which is nice too. Also some of the big fields low BI tournaments u can reach insane ROIs when deep etc.

by sick I meant it seemed very soft for a 500$ buyin which is good.

Agree with the dealing stuff. I personally dont really want to deal ever unless its a must take because I really think my edge in HU is really really big. Having said that Im not sure Id play like a huge HU for lets say 100K

agree on pumping up volume, but how do they reduce variance since they are big field tourneys and ur edge is way smaller because you late reg them? Like if u play from 1st hand in b11 u rly have good chance to get ur 10$/game. but if u late reg for sure u dont get the 100% ROI. So ?

Yes, they are big field tournaments but that also mean they are waaaaay softer in late game and it also increases our ROI. My edge is smaller yes but my hourly and overall profit is probably higher because I still get to grind all my high-end schedule.

Wednesday

Yesterdays session was fine. I played quite a long session which almost ended in a disasterous way. I didnt really have any runs in the whole session apart from battle royale and this 44$ mix max on party. I cashed the royale for like 500$ which was nice and I was 1 tabling the mix max for like 6 hours again. I was super mad to find out that from like 1K runners only 16 people got paid lol And also the money bubble was 20x worth the buy in. Well luckily I managed to not bubble this one. A friend of mine from the stable did that. Was super painful for him I came 10th but its all good. Overall good session. Very happy with my game right now and with my state of mind overall. Looking forward for Sunday.

Thursday

I thought I would play today but I knew I was pretty damn tired the last couple of days and I had decent ammount of things to do. We had a coaching with European which was just great. Very interactive, very enjoyable. I also swapped HH with one of my friends from the stable. I wanted to play but then I reevaluated and thought I would do things I wanted to do but never found time. So I finished reviewing his HH. That gave me a lot of confidence because there were couple of spots which I would play differently and I ran them in pio which I enjoyed a lot and I realised I had very good understanding in most of the spots. Always a good confidence boost. I finished the review and we did a call and shared our thoughts. Very good session. Hopefully theres gonnna be more.

Im gonna skip playing on Friday and Saturday. I have a friend of mine visiting me. The one that I play tennis all the time with. Should be fine. I dont regret not being able to play. I think I can use a break and a bit of social interaction I will come back on Sunday super fresh.

Thanks Basically his thinking procces is about first knowing whats optimal in each spot, then knowing what people do wrong and then how to exploit that.

When you reg your tournaments for the day, do you reg the must plays and then late reg around them depending on how many tables you have at the moment or how do you manage your schedule?

Inspiring read as always keep it going
