Past 2 days

So yeah, the trend continues. Last couple of days were pretty enjoyable again. I made numerous deep runs in which I didnt really run that good but was happy about it. Thursday was more about making it to mid-stages of tournaments and then busting so there was not much interesting going on. Friday was a bit different. I managed to final table the 22$ FO on party in which I came 2nd unfortunately.

I hate to play HUs with 7 more tables because I cant much focus but I guess thats the nature of the game. I was kinda mad with myself to not win because it should have been an easy HU but ye, cant win them all. I also had couple of more deep runs. The most worth mentioning is probably FT of fast friday. I actually remember final-tabling this tournament earlier this year and back then it was just ridiculous FT. I came like 8th after 4 shortstacks all doubled up. This time I was happy because I came to the FT as 9/9 and there were two early bustouts, so couldnt really complain. I busted 7th rejamming 17BBs w A4s vs HJ CL open. BB woke up with AK so gg.

Spoiler:

Also Ive recently been quite happy with my game. I managed to fix some of the leaks that Ive found in the past couple of months. There was a coaching also yesterday lead by Romeopro. After a little while when he was focusing on HH reviews, he got back to doing theory and you could tell that that is where he feels most comfortable and where he can pass the most knowledge. The coaching he presented was just awesome. Im sure he had to spend dozens of hours preparing it and the value of it was great.

Right now Im really concerned about my blinds winrates. Im gonna take couple of hours today to do DB analysis to find out in which exact spots Im struggling and then put a lot of work in that. So the goal for the next couple of weeks/months is to be super confident in blinds. Both in SB and BB, have numerous strategies both preflop and postflop and get a good grasp on them. Be able to switch between them and be confident when to use which and why.

And guess what. Today is a THE day. Im super pumped for this McGregor vs Maywheater fight. Eventually I will watch it at home because it seems like Germans couldnt give zero **** about the fight #ForeverAlone

Really looking forward for Sunday aswell. With me playing so much and still enjoying it so much I feel Im getting into a good rhythm. I can feel good things are gonna happen :P Also numerous other things to look forward during next week. Im scheduled to have 2 1-1 sessions. First one with NSB and second one with European. Looking forward to those a lot.

Connor fight

So the looong anticipated fight is behind us. I was really really looking forward to the fight. I was actually super nervous during the first couple of rounds. I was really happy with how those went. I was kidna surprised tho because it seemed like Connor had no power in his shots. I expected him to be a little bit more furious. After like the sixth round I was really sad about him being exhausted. I really wanted him to finish the 12 rounds but anyway Im still proud of him :P I think it was a nice fight. I hope his next fight is gonna be vs Khabib. That would be just insane.

Sunday

This Sunday was something really really special. I went to sleep after the fight and woke up around 14:30. I was afraid of being tired but it seemed that I had enough sleep so I prepared food etc. I kinda felt back in my mind that normally I would just rush a bit but not this time which Im glad. I did my full warmup - had a shower, meditated, wrote dowm my session goals and only after that I started playing.

sunday 27/08/2017
1) high level of focus
2) 8 tables max
3) if deep in MTT -> patience, dont try to rush things
4) focus on BvB

After a short period of time there were couple of spots that created some very weird response from my body and mind. I lost bunch of stacks and busted too many tournaments during that short time and that kinda accumulated some frustration in me. Like there were multiple 400-500bb pots which were either coolers or pottential missplayed hands. And as the session went by there were just more and more of these mostly cooler spots and eventually that would create this very weird feeling in me that I never experienced before.

I wished I could just quit the session right on the spot but that I obviously couldnt do. I tried to jsut refocus and stop regging. I made a decision that I wouldnt play on monday nor tuesday. I feel like I need some time off for sure. I will just try to relax a bit, maybe do some stuff to school and come back fresh because this was really really unfomfortable. I also booked a mental session right away with James. Hopefully we can figure something out before wcoop starts.

As far as results of the session I dont think I cashed a single tournament besides the 11$ payday which I managed to final table. And the FT was just absolutely ridiculous and nerve wracking. It was shallow even when it started but we played like 9 handed for an hour. Then 8 and 7 handed for another hour and half. Every shortstack would always double in ridic fashion etc. In the end the avg stack was 19BBs which meant basically everybody had 17BBs and below and chipleader had like 35 lol. I ended up busting 5th which was pretty meh. Again, so close but no.

I booked a massage for today, planning to take these two days completely off. Will do some programming, go outside, do some other things trying to free my mind and refocus.

Wait, that's the graph for the day you are describing, right? 1k day?

Wow, if so, reading this I got the feeling it was the end of the world, super bad, depressing day, etc. I don't know the ABI you played for the session, but if you made $30/tourney it's honestly probably not that horrible day.

Yes its the graph for the day. But thats not really the thing. Im not concerned about the results that much. Im more concerned about my mental and physical state during that session. Especially with WCOOP coming up, I dont really want to experience sessions like this. Obviously having any profitable session is great. But if I had to chose between 1k day where I played under these conditions and a -1K day where I would be sattisfied with my game overall Id pick the latter.

That's the thing though, you say:

which doesn't imply not being satisfied with your game, unless your best game includes avoiding coolers, in which case do share.

Unless when you say you are not satisfied with your game you mean mental game, in which case, yeah, I agree. GL!

Yeah Im mostly talking about mental game. Like after all Ive been playing this game for quite a bit and if I really want to be the best coolers shouldnt start such feelings in me. And I shouldnt experience the feeling of wanting to quit the session because of something I couldnt influence

Days off

So yea. I took monday and tuesday completely off. I didnt really feel like playing much and I also felt like just doing nothing, relaxing and taking a break. I think it helped me quite a bit. The whole monday I was just hanging around really. I also decided to treat myself with a massage. I took my last cash money and spent it on it Was definitely worth it tho. Then I didnt really feel like cooking so I went to this burger place. It was super nice and I had a good time.

Spoiler:

On tuesday I was scheduled to have a mental session and also 1-1 with NSB. Both of the sessions were great. In the mental session we talked about my fears coming towards WCOOP. These sessions always help me quite a bit. The session with NSB was also super nice. It was focused on turn and river barrelling and there were couple of "aha" moments for me so that is always super nice.

Back to grind

Today the plan was to play because I had a 1-1 session scheduled with European. I actually set the alarm clock pretty early and decided to go for a run and do a little bit of exercise before the session. It was nice, beautiful weather outside. Also I did a meditation session in this park, was pretty nice.

Spoiler:

The 1-1 session was supposed to be special this time. Sam watched me playing and always let me know hands I should mark. Tomorrow we are gonna look over all of them so I think this will be very very beneficial for me. Somebody being able to spot mistakes that perhaps you are unaware of is I think very valuable. The session went pretty bad tho, I dont think I played badly but I kinda felt like the card distribution wasnt really on my side today.

Also we already got our schedules for wcoop and all the series. Seems sexy. ALso this time theres one thing that the stable implemented which is swapping. Im going to definitely swap most of my HS events just to make sure I reduce the variance a bit. But yea, overall, looking forward for the series. Should be fun.

August

So I thought I would do a little monthly recap.

August was pretty good overall. Actually as far as results go, it was the best month I ever had. Somehow tho, I still dont really feel too happy about it. It is probably due to so many deep runs that just didnt go well. But then again some of them went pretty well so I should be feeling super good about it. Ive got momentum coming into WCOOP so hopefully we can follow up on the results. Also Im pretty happy about the volume I put in. Obviously its much easier to put in volume than before when I did so many other things but still pretty happy about it. I feel like Im getting lot more population reads which helps my overal gameplan a ton.

Ive got my girlfriend coming over on saturday. Last day before starting the hard grind. Hopefully it will be nice outside so I can show her around the city etc.

I still need to work on my WCOOP schedule. I am planning on doing that on Friday or potentionally Saturday. Its gonna be a bit more challenging with me having to prepare meals etc but I like challenges.

The mental session I had definitely helped me quite a bit. Also the fact that the variance of the whole series should be slightly reduced with the swapping system in the schedule. I have a good feeling coming into the series. I feel prepared and motivated. I thnk Ive learned so much things during the previous series and hopefully I will be able to use all of them. At the same time I am fully aware of all the possible outcomes, good or bad. But I still have high hopes and confidence in my abilities and am looking forward to testing them in the tough fields.

Also I will be setting the following goals for WCOOP.
  1. 1) play low table count (6-9)
  2. 2) do proper warmups/cooldowns
  3. 3) have at least 1 day off each week
  4. 4) dont push things too much
  5. 5) prepare meals 1 day upfront
  6. 6) remember that structures are way different, dont go for high variance lines especially deep

Having one decent month after 13 losing months will not just suddenly make you happy

1st day

So first day of WCOOP is behind us. It was interesting I would say. I started at like 14:00 with kickoff and was kinda weird to determine wether to reg a certain tournament or not because obviously there was gonna be so many must play tournaments that I wanted to have space for. I actually ended up giving up on quite a bit of tournaments I wanted to play due to not having table space. My plan was to play around 8 tables max. In the end I ended up playing 10 tbls at one point which I will probably not do again.

Overall it was an ok session in terms of my game. I had a nice deep run in the 50e monster stack on winamax. Unfortunately I came like 30th or so. But a nice run. I also made day 2 in the 300e 6max championship on Wina. This is the tournament I won 2 years ago so would be nice to have a deja-vu or sth As far as WCOOPs go I didnt manage to get anything going on there. I busted all of them pretty soon. Kickoff I busted AKvAK, warmup set over set in 3b pot and milly was pretty quick aswell. Woke up with a weird mental state. Was kinda intimidated of all the upcoming things in the month. I resettled a bit, watched some of the mental-game videos which helped a bit. Planning on starting around 16:00 today. Should be a fun day and Im planning on taking it easy and just enjoying the ride. Will maybe go out running before the session and do some outside meditation.

WCOOP updates

So yea, decided to do a little bit of an update on how things are going. Past couple of days have been fun. Had decent ammount of sweats. Obviously had the WCOOP day2 which I was looking forward to. I came to day 2 with around 20BBs and unfortunately I never got above like 22BBs. I never even saw a flop basically just had rejam spots. Busted I think 28th 88<AK for 40BBs which would have been nice but nothing I could do there. I also had day 2 of the winamax 300 which ended up being a bit of a dissapointment. I managed to build a huge stack just to lose it vs a rec for a massive chiplead Q8 vs KQ on JT9xx. But still a decent run.

Also had very nice runs in the bounty builder 215. This tournament has been treating me somewhat well lately. Unfortunately I came 10th in 2 days ago and yesterday I was flipping last 30 people for massive chiplead ThTx vs AKhh on 679hhx but couldnt hold. Also had a nice sweat in the battler royal and powerfest 109 psko. Came 10th in the powerfest and like 60th in the BR. But all good, at least I locked up couple of profitable sessions and Im hoping to run slightly better in the deep runs. Good vibes over here. Also Im sure you guys noticed when Elmerixx made double FT in the WCOOPs. It was so inspiring to watch. Really motivating. I also made 2 day 2s yesterday on winamax. One in the 300e 6max championship and the other one in the 100e event. We have 25 and 10 biebers to fight with so hopefully we can make something out of it.

Graph
Spoiler:

Btw if you guys like music during playing I just recently discovered this set that I used to listen to while playing but for some reason I stopped but now I found it again and its just nuts.

As far as other things are going I was a little bit sad that I couldnt actually do anything during this summer apart from being in Greece for one week. But I was kinda used to doing lots of stuff, meeting my friends a lot, playing tennis every day for 3+ hours So I decided I might take 4 days off during the 2nd week of the series to just go fishing with my friends. Even tho I might regret it I should just find some time to just do something else besides just playing. We will see, it all depends wheteer I make a day2 of a tournament on Sunday or not.

Also I would like to spend some time with my dad. I think I mentioned it here before but hes been feeling sick for the last couple of weeks and now doctors said he might suffer from some kind of nerve damages which causes him muscle pain and dizziness and if thats the case they said theres nothign to do with that. I really hope this is not it.
