Hello! I’m going to start posting every day to give myself accountability. I’m currently trying to quit my job and make poker my main source of income. Currently I’m grinding about 80 hours a week and work 35 hours a week. I feel like I’m at the point where I can quit my job and stick with poker. I pretty much just go to work and then come home and play poker till I fall sleep. I feel like if I quit my job and give poker a shot I can get into a better schedule. But for now I’m grinding my ass 80+ hours a week of poker and still maintaining a full time job. I’m more motivated than anyone’s to continue to get better at poker and progress with my game.

I currently play on Bovada and acr. My name on acr is the grinderr. I’m going to keep track of liferoll and bankroll in this thread.

Bankroll:$5,956.65

80 hours? Each week? Would you mind detailing your daily schedule because this sounds incredible! I’m pretty good and tired after 20 hours. But 80 hours AND you have a day job? I need to hear how you do it.

I work 5 days a week. The days I work I usually work 9 to 4 or 5. I get out and fire up a session by 5:30. And grind about 10-12 hours. And on my 2 days off I grind about 15 to 18 hours. Some days I don’t grind those Lon g hours, but I pretty much grind 7 days a week

I grind 95 percent tournaments. The 5 percent is when I’m tilting hard and play cash games. Tilt is something I desperately need to work on. I at times have a week mental game. I have busted so many rolls tilting off stacks in cash games.

Put some of those 80 hours into studying instead of grinding and you won't need to grind for 80 hours.

If you quit your job try to move close to good live games, can make as much in 12 hours in a good live game as 80 hours grinding small stakes online.

Basically work smarter, not harder.

Echoing what others have said; you can’t sustain this at all. I’m guessing you are relatively young so maybe you can keep this up for a few months, but yeah spend time studying and resetting the brain. GL to you though!

So you sleep like 3 hours a day?

So sick grind on the mind.

I’m sorry but I call BS on this. I don’t know if I call myself a “grinder” but I also do this semi professionally now, have played professionally in the past and I’m skeptical that anyone can do this. Here’s some possibilities:
1- you’re straight up lying
2- you play 80 “ish” hours or what feels like 80 but is less
3- you play 80 but are *nowhere* near your A-game for the vast majority of that.

I know we’re all different and all that but there’s no way you’re pushing 80, with a job, and remaining focused the whole time, no one can do that.
