I've obv ran pretty decent over the last month and definitely wouldn't have cleared without holding deep when it mattered as much as i have this month.

Was a lot of fun to follow this thread this past month. Congratulations.

I have to admit I didn't know much about you, and felt it was going to be really hard for anyone to clear that kind of make up, especially when things kept going south for you, but seeing you come out of it has been awesome.

Enjoy!

I wanted to ask, im primarily a cash player, what do u think cash players have trouble to learn regarding mtts? What should i focus on when i want to get better in it? I had some scores and deep runs but i always seem to lose a lot of chips when effective stacks go below 50bbs. i also have no knowledge of mtt theory, can u recommend any sources that helped u a lot?

Thanks
Pre-flop and post flop play for effective stacks of 35bb and less. I think in general it would be best for a cash player to transition to practicing with turbo mtts and 180's and learning how to play those well, learn shove ranges and re-shove ranges and calling ranges and learn icm theory. After doing this, then work on normal mtt play. I believe that the hardest poker to play well and adjust to is 20-40bb tournament poker, as there are so many tiny adjustments that need to be made due to many many factors (learning basic tourney play and icm theory will help immensely with this). 50bb+ cash game poker is like playing chess, 20-40bb tourney poker is like playing chess but the board shifts constantly. They both require loads of skill, and cash game has a significant amount less luck involved, but they are pretty comparable as far as difficulty of play is concerned.

2+2 has been my main resource for getting better. (meeting people from here, discussing thousands of hands with other players has helped immensely)

https://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/198/mttsng/

https://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/23/small-stakes-mtt/

https://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/183/midstakes-mtt/

Read through the above sections, pick up the book "Kill Everyone", join the training site "Tournament Poker Edge".

Doing the above, and playing volume, and possibly hiring a good coach should turn you into a very good MTT player.

Thanks for the well wishes everyone!

For me to go on my own, from where im at now i'd have to profit like 100k for myself over the next year. Would end up being like 70k post taxes, 50k after next years living expenses and stuff, so i'd have like a 30k poker roll and 20k for living expenses for another year.

Post canada we are relaxing in wisconsin for a few weeks (i'll live grind 3-5nlhe there a bit to get back into live mind set). Late may we are going to drive to vegas. After 2 months in vegas im coming back up north for a wedding quick, then heading to cabo/cancun/puerta Vallarta for around 3 months. After that....who knows.

The charity i have chosen is called "The Trevor project", it is a group dedicated to helping GLBT youth and preventing suicide.

If i manage to clear by more than 10k i will be matching his donation.
I am about to do a chop with my new backer, i am up 10,354. As soon as i am able i will be donating 500-700$ to TheTrevorProject.org, matching Bogan's donation.

Currently have a 516 point lead on TLB, and im only 300 points down from what the winner had last month. Hoping i can hit 11k before the 30th, or just have a 500+ point lead on the 30th so i may take my last day off here in toronto and see the city 1 last time.

Thank you all for following and best of luck at the tables!

What do you get for winning TLB? Is there a cash prize or just bragging rights?

Re: ***Protential's Last PG&C Thread***

Ended up taking 2nd in tlb for 3k, my friend scarer ended up beating me by 75 points >.<

Sick bday i've had. Sold out my wsop package in the morn, had a great lunch and dinner, and 2+2 back before midnight. #Rungood!

I'm currently in the difficult process of trying to find a good place to rent for june and july in vegas. Hoping i can find something soon, really don't want to stay in a hotel for 1-2 months >.<

I plan on doing a video blog/autodocu for the summer, i'll post parts of it as i complete it, no promises as to when anything will be put up, but i do promise ****loads of pictures and video from my wsop journey this year.

Thank you for reading and best of luck at the tables!
