so what happens to your makeup?

I need to clear it, or it needs to be sold. Depends on offers we get, and whether i clear within the next 2 weeks or not.

I'm don't know much about backing, but you never made profit for ur current backer? Or does make up gets cut down 50/50ish or something?

Make up is gained any time you are down money after a profit split. So a horse could have profited 100k for a backer, but manage to be 50k+ in make up. It is very common for a backed player to always be in make up. As the moment they reach profit they do a split, make up is set to 0 and they keep playing.

That sounds like a strange deal to me, though very common i believe?
So if you have made 100k for ur backer, then a 1k losing month, u have to pay your backer 1k to buyout if u want to quit?

yup. or an agreed upon amount. But the make up would be at 1k.

Why would anyone ever quit a backer when they're in makeup then?
And why are u searching for a new backer if he wants to drop you?
Doesn't he give you money anymore? If he doesn't, the makeup gets waived right?

Horse's cant quit a backer while in makeup, unless they quit poker entirely.

I'm searching for a new backer as i need to have 1 in order to keep playing as i have little money of my own. Playing poker is expensive, as is life, in order for me to be comfortably on my own i'd want a roll of around 100k.

Yes my current backer sitll backs me, i am grinding right now actually. The make up would get waived if he wanted to drop me and we couldn't find a buyer. This wont happen.

Getting backed obv has its upsides, but i think its really retarted that if u made 100k for a backer and then lose 1$, u have to pay him 1$.
I always assumed players in makeup never made any profit for the backers. Always wondered how some many people were in makeup lol.

if the backer wanted to quit, they just tell the horse to send what money they have in their accounts to the backer and the makeup disappears (is written up)

the idea is that players grind until they are out of makeup and then quit, not try and quit in makeup. what other option would there be apart from not allowing horses to cash out until they want to leave/backer wants to drop them which is obv not going to work

All i do is have 1 massive single stack of tourneys. I only play mtts, so mixing turbo, non turbo, and plo8 mtt's isn't too hard. It seems to be by far my best option.

First of all, gl w your challenge, sick results man, keep it up!!!

I wanted to ask, im primarily a cash player, what do u think cash players have trouble to learn regarding mtts? What should i focus on when i want to get better in it? I had some scores and deep runs but i always seem to lose a lot of chips when effective stacks go below 50bbs. i also have no knowledge of mtt theory, can u recommend any sources that helped u a lot?
