Ya.

This month has just been especially sick.

I probably was within 45 people of 10k-200k around 50-100 times this month, and didn't get a single top 3.

This also happens to be the month I ran my highest ever ABI and played my most ever in buy-ins.

Being down nearly 30k this month isn't what is affecting me. The manner in which I have lost so much is.

If I had broken even this month I'd still have considered myself to have ran horrendously.

As is, this month has been by far the most unluckiest I have ever had, and the most heart wrenching.

I know i'll eventually get to the point where I don't care about being 50k+ under ev in a month. I am not there yet though.

Why I've Been Frustrated:

This dosn't have the main in yet. Thus, So far this month I'm actually down 28.5k.

This has a 76 ABI, although with the 5k it'll be 80 ABI. -35% ROI

Mexico Overall:

This also dosn't include the main, but neither of these show what action i've sold. So if you include action sold and w/e, I've actually added 17.5k to MU from grinding here in mexico.

This has a 65 ABI, with main will be closer to 68 ABI. -20% ROI

My time spent in Mexico has definitely been something I won't forget, however I do wish we had chosen to go to Rosarita Beach instead of Cabo. Cabo is a nice place to visit for a week, but with how little there is to do here it gets boring pretty quickly. Rosarita would have been much better due to how many more grinders there are there, how much bigger the area is, and how close it is to California. So it goes >.<

My grind here overall has been by far the most frustrating of my career. I have taken over a dozen beats over the last month worth anywhere from 5-25k in equity and haven't had a single score over 5k since August; Which normally isn't much of an issue, but as September was my biggest month ever of buy-ins, it means I have lost a lot.

To say it has been frustrating would be a HUGE understatement. September was by far the most painful and frustrating month of my career, my biggest losing month as well. It has also certainly put me into a really bad place mentally and put me to the edge of being burnt out.

In order to prevent that, I am taking a few days off, working on training site stuff, experiencing Cabo more, spending time with my boyfriend, etc. I'm hoping that by Friday I'll be revitalized, focused, less frustrated, less tilty, and ready to crush. Also by then I should have my first training videos up on www.FloatTheTurn.com ^.^

Results In Mexico:

Games Played:1995

ABI:$62.6

ROI: -26%

Profits: -$30,232

Current VIP Level: SuperNova

Monthly VPPS: 0

Yearly VPPS: 114,522

Thank you for following! Best of luck on the tables!

Spent the last few days working on training site stuff and relaxing.

Got my first video completed, its on playing poker professionally, and should be up on www.FloatTheTurn.com with in a few days.

My first HH review vid should be up mid of next week.

I am currently 60-65k deep in make up, and am back grinding today. I'm aiming to be under 30k deep by jan 1st.

Between training site stuff, coaching, grinding, me and my bf's 2nd anniversary coming up, and moving out of mexico in 6 weeks then holiday in usa and moving back to toronto, im going to have a very very busy end of 2012.

Thanks for reading. Best of luck at the tables!

How does it feel to be so far in make up? I think the whole time Ive been reading this thread thats been the case. Im guessing that when your in make up you dont have any other income source so how do you survive?

Being deep in make up kinda sucks, but its also part of mids+ mtts and the amount of travel and stuff i need to do for the game. happens.

I have income through coaching people, though rake back and bonuses, and am working with a training site as well (www.floattheturn.com).

So while i'll need to borrow money for travel back to toronto and rent, my month to month normal expenses are covered by myself.

Thanks for answering. What is your take on the coaches should be profitable debate. I mean its one of the first criteria I would look at when getting a coach or watching a training video.

depends. I think a coach should have proven results to some degree, but it is pretty easy to be down money in poker, if you crush 0-109 and lose lots in 200's-10k's.

As long as the coach is good and proves their ability through students, why can't they coach?

I think having a lot of profits makes it easier to charge more, and makes it easier for a coach to over charge.

How do you deal with the swings ? My worst problem with playing mtt's is those sessions where u blank like 50 mtt's and loose a lot of money, makes me want to insta cashout and blow up stuff ...

How would a student know if a coach is good?

I agree that someone may have losses due to the situation you described. Do you think that they should coach at the higher level they have lost money at?

If you arn't certain about getting coaching from some1 at the rate they offer, dont do it. If you think it's possibly a good deal, see if it is. If you dont feel you are easily getting your money's worth, dont get more.

Been nice taking the last few days off, certainly needed it. Today is my BF and my 2nd anniversary, so am going to be hanging out with him all day and checking out Cabo more.

Besides for grinding, training site stuff, and 1 on 1 coaching, i also am now managing a small group of guys for a backing team and doing coaching for that as well. Off to a great start already there, should be a lot of fun and help me make some money as well ^.^

Really happy with how everything is going, and very relaxed again. Ready to start grinding tomorrow, and hopefully get out of this downswing!

Thanks for reading and best of luck at the tables!

Today was an interesting/brutal one. Up like 300 on the day, but had a 12th in an 82 hyper, 12th or so in 55 2x, 10th in hot 75, 13th or so in 215 plo8, 30th in the 300$ 75k.

Day saved with a 5th in the 265ko, so made like 300$ today, felt like i should have made 5-10k >.<

Happened to have a student for the staking team im helping win the 27$ eliminator for 10k though, so that made me feel a lot better. Really is nice to see a student do well, and nice to make 1k when he does so .

For the team i run for the staking group, i get 10% of cashouts. There is an agreed upon amount of coaching i have to do, i also had to find the horses and i manage their games (what they are allowed to play).

Don't do anything else based around it (dont have to worry about sending funds really or who has what make=up), so it is a pretty good deal and easy to do.

man, those backers are burning money!

not commenting on you as a coach, but the way they set it up is terrible. giving away profits like that just isnt a good idea when you are trying to grow a stable.

a horse scores in a mtt for 20k. lets just say he has 0 MU before this, so the cashout is 20k total, 10k for backer, 10k for horse. how much do you get in this scenario?

i get 2k.

the cut for them is 45/45 and i get 10.

so instead of each of them getting 10k, they each get 9k and i get 2k.

If i was just doing coaching I'm prolly getting paid too much, but as I also found the horses for them, and do most of the job of an actual backer (everything but front the money. I game select for the horses, can drop people, etc...), ends up being a pretty good deal for everyone involved and gives me great EXP for when I can finally run my own stable.

Off to a pretty good start for them, stable is up like 11k overall already and i've made like 1300.

Note: I also get bonuses based on stable's overall profits as well.
