New ones I noticed today (and I don't think I saw them posted already). Enjoy!

Pokerkraut -- gets a lump of coal in his stocking.
lol

JVF flops a monster

Teo G from Ontario issue Vlog #5. He's new to me. Includes hand analysis and mostly a talking head.

Ryan Frechette pops another from a 1/3 session at Aria. He continues his common habit of very lengthy vlogs which runs just over a half hour. I know I'm probably one of the few who actually prefers longer vlogs because I listen n glance over while working, but I wanted to put that up there b/c I know most itt don't like vlogs so long.

Matt Vaughn offers one more pre-WSOP vlog from the School of Cards in NY. Matt's isn't Frechette-long but it is 20 mins. It actually covers more lifestyle than an average Vaughn Vlog, we get to see a little of the Chelsea neighborhood the SoC is located in.

Yeah, I went looking for it Tuesday night as midnight approached, lol. Glad to see that you're (almost) sticking to your weekly schedule!

Seriously though, it was another excellent vlog. I really like your humor, personality, and self-deprecation. And I thoroughly enjoy all of the non-poker-related sights and sounds you include in your lifestyle vlog.

I am going to change the release date to Fridays. Looking at my analytics, it seems that I get more views when people get the vids at the beginning of the weekend. Makes sense, I guess. So next video will come out a week from tomorrow.
The lifestyle stuff has been great for me because it's forced me to get out and do some more fun stuff and not just sit here and grind it out online or just study. Feel like I'm achieving more of a balance.

My second Poker Vlog is out. Back to the grind and the Seminole Hard Rock in Hollywood, FL. My entire stack at risk third hand of night.

I think it may be WSOP time, not entirely sure. Let's check in with Ryan Frechette and Andrew Neeme to be sure.

Frechette & trucker friend from Nebraska drive up to the Rio, wander around, get busted by the video police a few times, look around the main spots.

Neeme grabs a little footage outside the Rio, wanders around inside a bit, best extended full name for the Rio ever noted on camera and a reminder to be kind to your dealers. Yes please do.

So much confusion! Something was moved and it wasn't my cheese! WHERE IS THE MAIN STAGE FOR FINAL TABLES?? Oh well I guess it doesn't matter since there is basically no streaming this year anyway. Grr.

Here's another relatively new vlogger who just began vlogging last month in Australia. His name is Michael Saunders and he tries to make money playing $5/$5 while dealing with a 10% rake to $15(!). His is a true poker vlog with mostly hand analyses (as opposed to a lifestyle vlog with just a couple of hands discussed). Truthfully, I prefer the latter, but I know that some, if not most, of you prefer the heavy emphasis on poker hands. Here's his first three vlogs:

Doug Polk's latest, which highlights his experience (including a few hand histories) during yesterday's day 2 at the featured table in the $111,111 One Drop.

Switching the release date to Fridays. Reviewed my analytics and noticed that the videos do much better when they're released on or around the weekend. Which makes sense.
Gonna keep releasing them weekly for now but trying to figure out a way to do them more frequently, like two or three a week maybe.
So this Friday's vlog will have two poker sessions plus the weight loss challenge conclusion.
Thanks, buddy.

Ahem....

So I got home late last night after a grueling 12-hour session of $2/$5 (in which I made a grand total of $16, lol) and thought I'd unwind with a couple fingers of Talisker while watching the brand-new Friday edition of Pokermonk's vlog.

Did your analytics change again?

Man, I tried so hard to get this video done but it is still sitting here on my computer unfinished.

The move to the new apartment has been a total time killer. We moved today. So the new place is just filled floor to ceiling with boxes and furniture that needs to be reassembled. It's a total f'ing mess. And the wife definitely feels that getting the new place situated is much more of priority than getting the vlog edited (we differ on this point but I bet you can guess who wins this argument).

I also switched from editing on iMovie to Final Cut Pro X on this episode and the switch has been much more difficult than I thought it would be. To give you an idea, this video should end up around 16 minutes long and I've already put in 15 hours of editing on it. And I'm only about 2/3 of the way done editing and there's no music yet! I think by the time I'm finished it will be about 20 hours of editing time. That should get much better as I improve with the software (I hope!). The good news is that I think the video is already looking much better than previous ones.

I'm trying to decide if I should release it early this coming week, like Monday or Tuesday. Or just hold off and release on Friday of next week to get it on schedule.

I know you're just joking around, but it is killing me not getting this out on time. Releasing the last four each Tuesday felt really good. I loved the consistency and really want to get on a regular schedule. But sometimes life just happens I guess.

Thanks, DC2LV! Hopefully you'll find the wait worth it.

I was wondering about the lack of new video and figured it was something along these lines. Too bad, since I think a rising tide (i.e., the ongoing WSOP) is raising all boats, or in this case resulting in more views to most every vlog.

What's up everyone. Michael the Aussie poker vlogger here...

I just wanted to use my experience to avoid having others fall into the same situation I just found myself in... I recently introduced table footage into my vlogs and man did it make a big difference in the overall quality and atmosphere of the videos. The problem for me was that I knew the casino would eventually find out and ask me to stop. My plan was to do it until they asked me not to and by that stage be much better at making poker vlogs such that I'd be able to make them interesting in other ways.

Well beyond being asked to stop, I was actually approached by security yesterday and asked to cash out my chips and leave the premises. Apparently there's a law that we have in my state that prevents electronic devices from being used at any table game full stop. There are a couple of floor managers who enforce the rule, but for the most part they're pretty laid back so I didn't think it'd be that much of a big deal when I got caught.

Thankfully I was right and the casino management agreed to not ban me or pursue any further action under the condition that I remove the videos from YouTube. So let this be a warning to anybody else that wants to start using table footage in a poker vlog...

Check the laws of your state or country before filming at a poker table.

It may be one thing to get kicked out of a Casino (who really cares, it's probably pretty badass anyway right?) but quite another to get into legal trouble. I don't know if this is a potential issue anywhere else in the world, but I'd much rather you don't have to go through that. I feel as though I knew what I was doing and didn't think there was too much of a risk... but in hindsight there really could have been and I am somewhat lucky.

Anyway I posted a quick video about the situation, if anything this has motivated me to produce higher quality and more interesting content even in the absence of table footage. Check it out if you have time and best of luck at the tables!

Mike
