Hello everyone, I'll keep this thread as a journal to not do -EV life things and try to hold myself accountable for as much stuff that's going in in my life as I can. I'm going to play NL50 and NL100 for now on the weekends, since poker is not my number one priority in life and I have a job and other life plans, plus the games are soft on these days. So, I'm not gonna play a lot of volume probably, but just make sure to be in the best games and make the most EV+ decisions. I'll try to discuss more hands with ZKesic, but that's about it.

I'm 24 and from Slovenia, had no idea what to do after high school and worked part-time jobs (also dabbled in poker form time to time and eventually did shots at NL100, while also sitting at NL500 few times due to boredoom and feeling my A game) to get by and have a normal life, then decided to give CS college a try and figured out after a year that it's a huge waste of time and large -EV move (in my case), since I want to go into web development & UI/UX design.

Part of the reason I left college is also that I got a very well paying job offer in Austria and I only have to work 3 or 4 times per week, while earning almost twice as much as a good paying job in Slovenia would net me (not to mention 13th and 14th pay that you get in Austria).

So while I make decent wage working 3-4 times per week and also have weekends off, I still got a lot of time to kill and try to make something happen. My most important goal is to get a job in Austria as a Full Stacked Web Developer or start freelancing by the end of the year and open my own small business with web services & mobile apps. I also have 2 huge projects I want to do on my own by the end of the year, but it will take time since I'm a one man team for now and just want to learn as much as I can. While I know my way around HTML/CSS/JS(Bootstrap), PHP(Laravel), Node.js (Express),.. and built some smaller social media websites that require a bunch of back end logic.. I want to also have to learn more about Java and mobile apps, since most people use phones anyway.

Programming aside, I have to work on my German language as well and be proficient in it.

Last thing, I also like to trade, primarily GOLD and either scalp or swing trade. Sometimes I like to trade indexes, forex, commodities and stocks also, anything where I think a good R:R ratio is and the fundamentals and technical analysis aligns with stars. When it comes to trading GOLD, I most keep an eye on latest geopolitical events/diseases/indexes, etc.. anything that can disrupt peace or make peace. However, from technical standpoint I usually use only Volume Profile and local supports/resistances/watch for breakouts. I also tried trading with market orderflow and volumetric bars, but will have to look more into it, since I didn't really feel comfortable.

Anyway, small steps go long way, so let's try make some side profit and open my own small business this year . Also meet some new people on here and connect with other traders/programmers .

My latest setup for GOLD, I don't want to spend 15 minutes explaining it, but there's a strong 1550$ level I believe and with indexes starting to slow down from the recent rally and coronavirus/Iran news threats, I think it's just matter of time before it explodes again up into 1580$. Short term 1568$ level is arguably short term resistance, but I'm currently long in gold for a week or so, until it won't pop, since I feel things are coming together for it to pop. I also don't like sweating over every hour, so I just let the price to run out and hit my TP points, instead of sweating how the candles look every 1 hours or whatever. Sometimes I like to scalp, but other times, I just like to open position and check it at the end of the day or week and keep my mental health.

Hello Je$ter, nice objectives you have there and hope you will fulfil them. I have a question to ask you, i see that you plan to move out of Slovenia, i will do the reveres, move in.And i want to ask you as citizen of Slovenia what sites you can play or what is about Slovenian betting law to know if i risk something using my foreign sites. What about landbades? I talk for poker and sport bets too. Hope you dont mind my questions and i wish you the best of luck in your goals, and hvala for the future answers.

Pokerstars is banned and to play on PartyPoker you need to have old account I think.
You still have GGPoker and iPoker and some other stuff, there's official dedicated Slovenian poker forum you should check out and probably register and ask around there, since I'm not sure about everything you asked.

Contact CoreySteel or Bebik, I'm sure they'll help you if you have any additional questions. I'm not sure how much you are risking with playing on foreign sites.

In other news, I grinded NL50 & NL100, but I can't get my hands to import correctly into PT4, so I'll try to fix that. It's missing a lot of hands and it's not even worth posting any graph until that's resolved.

In trading news, market did what I expected it to do, since it seems it's over-extended due to stock rally and is finally beginning to slow down, as I said in my first post. Other than that, I'll just post my short, medium and long term view on GOLD and some cataclysts. Now we can debate what the "EXACT" cataclysts are, but this is just my opinion and there's tens of other opinions also.

Short term I think this is POC and where long positions will be build. Will it pop tomorrow out of this zone? Not sure, might, might not. By the end of the week and few more fear mongering news/stocks falling, I'm pretty sure it's going out of here and the sweet thing is the next "real" resistance is the previous two wicks, so there might be a nice move in short term.

short term

medium/long term profit taking zones and local resistances to put in a quick short

Quick update, woke up to see my profit taking zone hit and now the question is where to start adding position. To which I think will be in green zone, since that is old resistance that will start to act as a support probably. Again, just my thoughts and how I'm playing this out. I might buy it prematurely at 1579 right now and could be super greedy by waiting to go down a it more, but meh. Now the plan is to sell into that 1610$ wick and put in a quick short when it hits the zone.

Anyway, nice little 300€ grab from this.

A quick update:

-Played some NL50/100 FF tables on partypoker and got kind of rekt in a fashion I've never experienced before, so I asked around on 2+2 partypoker thread what's up with the games being so weird.. tl;dr weird **** happens playing against regs that are likely bots. Also never again playing FF on partypoker, everybody confirmed my suspicions about these games.

-Had to buy a new car and settle few old things due to job and life situation and withdrew most of my money from poker and trading

-Watched a lot of videos on psychology to understand certain aspects of my personality better and how it came to be what it is today

So, currently I'm just watching GOLD explode slowly without having any part in it and it's slowly eating me. Not sure, if I'm gonna take a quick loan for 5k€ and pay it off till the end of summer (or hopefully sooner), so I can play and trade in meantime. As said, I have a steady job and money flow is not an issue. Second thing is, I believe new cycle in crypto is happening with halving coming soon and that might be even better long term strategy than trading GOLD in meantime.

Will have to think about this one a bit more, but currently I need to focus on studying back-end, poker theory and getting my hands on some money. I have couple of options, but we'll see. I'm not sure how things will plan out for next 2 months, but by the end of summer my situation should be really comfortable and I want to prepare for it, I also took 2 weeks of vacation in the end of August and will travel to Amsterdam for 1 week and Copenhagen for another week, so if anyone wants to hook up, let me know. I'll be visiting/staying at my friends that are working abroad and living the life.
